Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a storage type charging cabinet capable of safely storing multiple portable terminals while simultaneously performing charging, and in particular, to a portable terminal storage type charging cabinet that improves charging efficiency, safety, and security through an AI control module and an IoT-based management function. Background Technology
[0002] With the widespread adoption of portable devices, the demand for storage-type charging lockers that allow multiple users to safely store and charge their devices simultaneously is continuously increasing. Early locker technology was limited to opening and closing using simple keys or passwords, but this method presented problems such as user inconvenience in management and security vulnerabilities.
[0003] To address this, storage systems incorporating biometric authentication technologies such as fingerprint recognition have emerged, overcoming the limitations of traditional key management methods by controlling access through the recognition of users' unique fingerprint patterns. However, while this approach contributed to enhancing security regarding opening and closing mechanisms, it failed to resolve the challenges of ensuring charging efficiency and thermal safety in environments where multiple devices must be stored and charged simultaneously.
[0004] Locker management technology subsequently evolved with the introduction of remote monitoring capabilities. Systems were proposed that utilize wireless communication technologies such as BLE or NFC to allow administrators to remotely control opening and closing and check usage history, enabling the integrated centralized management of multiple storage spaces.
[0005] Although these technologies greatly improved management convenience, they lacked power management capabilities, which limited their ability to resolve power overload or heat generation issues that occurred when charging multiple devices simultaneously.
[0006] Meanwhile, unmanned lockers have expanded by integrating with parcel and delivery services to automate the consignment and retrieval of goods. Such unmanned storage services ensure both user convenience and security by detecting the condition of items and identifying unauthorized use through devices such as weight sensors, sound sensors, and cameras. However, as these systems were designed with a focus on storage and delivery, they had limitations in providing functions such as managing the charging of portable electronic devices and saving energy.
[0007] Recently, charging storage cabinets incorporating IoT technology have emerged, and attempts have been made to improve overload and heat generation issues during charging through power distribution control, heat monitoring, and cooling fan control. Some systems have increased charging efficiency by grouping charging ports to perform alternating charging and reducing instantaneous power peaks.
[0008] While these technologies demonstrated advancements in terms of charging management, they did not include sophisticated elements such as AI-based optimal charging profile generation considering device-specific characteristics, enhanced security through multi-factor authentication, or tracking and unrecovered item management functions utilizing RFID or BLE.
[0009] Ultimately, while technologies to date have evolved by focusing on specific functions such as security, remote control, item management, and charging efficiency, no complete system has been proposed that comprehensively integrates secure charging management, intelligent power distribution, user authentication, device tracking, and remote control capabilities.
[0010] Therefore, the new charging storage unit needs to evolve into a next-generation system that overcomes the limitations of existing technology, provides stable and optimized charging while storing multiple portable devices, and combines advanced management functions based on AI and IoT. [0032] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a portable terminal storage type charging storage box according to an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 2 is a drawing showing the door of a slot unit being opened from the front of the charging storage box, FIG. 3 is a drawing showing the interior of a slot unit being opened as the door opened in FIG. 2 rotates to one side, FIG. 4 is a control block diagram of the components of a controller, and FIG. 5 is an overall block diagram of the components of an AI control module processor.
[0033] As illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 5, the present invention may include a storage box for charging and storing a portable terminal, a storage box body (100), a slot unit (200), a sensing unit (300), and a controller (400).
[0034] The storage box body (100) can provide a space into which a portable terminal (30) is inserted. Specifically, the storage box body (100) is a basic structure that safely accommodates the portable terminal (30) and protects it from the external environment. It is formed in the shape of a rectangular prism and is manufactured from materials such as steel plate, aluminum alloy, tempered glass, and flame-retardant synthetic resin to ensure durability and shielding performance. The interior of the storage box body (100) includes a frame and a support structure so that a plurality of slot units (200) can be regularly arranged, and a door (210) corresponding to each slot unit (200) is located on the front to enable individual storage and charging. Additionally, a cooling unit (600), such as a cooling port and a ventilation fan, is provided on the exterior of the storage box body (100) to dissipate internal heat, and a power supply line and a control module are integrated to stably support storage and charging functions.
[0035] A plurality of slot units (200) are formed to partition the interior of the storage box body (100) and a door (210) is installed on the front to accommodate a portable terminal (30). Specifically, the slot unit (200) is structured to provide a space for individually accommodating a portable terminal (30), and is composed of a plurality of accommodating sections that partition the interior of the storage box body (100). Each slot unit (200) includes a front door (210), a hinge, and a locking device. The size of each slot unit (200) is standardized to accommodate portable terminals (30) of various sizes, such as tablets, laptops, and smartphones, and is equipped with a stand and a power connector inside to stably support the terminal. Additionally, each slot unit (200) can be individually powered and is independently controlled by a sensing unit (300) connected to a controller (400) so that charging abnormalities or heat generation in a single slot do not affect other slots.
[0036] Multiple slot units (200) are configured with a modular structure and are detachable from the storage box body (100), and power and data communication lines can be connected to each slot unit (200) under the control of the controller (400). Specifically, multiple slot units (200) are manufactured with independent modular structures and are detachably coupled to the storage box body (100), and each slot unit (200) is formed in the form of a single cartridge so that an administrator can easily add, replace, or remove them as needed. A power supply terminal and a data communication connector are provided on the rear of the slot unit (200), so that when inserted into the corresponding docking port of the storage box body (100), power and data lines are automatically connected without separate wiring work. Through this, the controller (400) can independently recognize each slot unit (200) and control the power supply, while simultaneously transmitting and receiving information such as sensing data, authentication results, and charging status in real time. This modular structure not only facilitates the expansion and maintenance of the number of slots but also offers the advantage of enhancing overall system stability and maximizing management efficiency by allowing only the specific module to be detached and replaced in the event of a malfunction in a particular slot.
[0037] The sensing unit (300) is provided in the storage box body (100) and connected to a plurality of slot units (200) to detect current, voltage, and temperature for each slot unit (200). Specifically, the sensing unit (300) is at least one of a current sensor, a voltage sensor, and a temperature sensor, is installed in each slot unit (200), and performs the role of monitoring the status of the portable terminal (30) being charged in real time. Specifically, the current sensor measures the current flow during charging to detect whether there is an overcurrent, the voltage sensor measures the voltage applied to the portable terminal (30) to ensure stability, and the temperature sensor detects heat generated inside the portable terminal (30) or the slot unit (200) to detect an abnormal temperature. The sensing unit (300) transmits data for each slot unit (200) to the controller (400) to enable charging control, operation of the cooling unit (600), and transmission of an abnormal warning according to the charging status of the portable terminal (30). This can prevent safety accidents such as fire, battery damage, and explosion.
[0038] The controller (400) is provided in the storage box body (100) and can control the operation of the sensing unit (300). Specifically, the controller (400) collects current, voltage, and temperature data from the sensing unit (300) and analyzes them to control the charging status. The controller (300) can individually cut off or supply charging power for each slot unit (200), and if an abnormal heat is detected, it can control the charging of the corresponding slot unit (200) to stop and activate the cooling unit (600). In addition, the controller (400) is linked with a user authentication module to manage door opening and closing authority, and communicates with an administrator terminal when necessary to provide remote control and alarm notifications. Furthermore, the controller (400) improves the safety, efficiency, and convenience of the entire storage box by performing an algorithm that cuts off the power supply after charging is complete to save energy and protect battery life.
[0039] The controller (400) is equipped with an AI control module (410) and may include an AI control module processor (P100) that analyzes the power characteristics of the portable terminal (30) based on data provided from the sensing unit (300) using the AI control module (410) and applies an optimal charging profile for each device. Specifically, the AI control module (410) is driven by a computational processor embedded in the controller (400) of the storage box body (100), and periodically collects current, voltage, and temperature data from the sensing unit (300) installed in each slot unit (200), preprocesses the data, and converts it into an analyzable form. The processor learns the battery status and charging characteristics of each portable terminal (30) through a machine learning-based charging pattern recognition algorithm, and analyzes minute current fluctuations, voltage stability, and heat generation patterns occurring during charging in real time. Next, the processor calculates a charging voltage and current suitable for each individual terminal based on the analysis results and controls the power supply circuit for each slot unit (200), thereby applying an optimized charging profile for each terminal. Additionally, if an abnormal situation is detected during charging, the processor immediately cuts off the power to the corresponding slot or activates the cooling unit (600) and performs a process of sending a warning signal to the administrator terminal.
[0040] More specifically, the AI control module process (P100) may include a data collection unit (P110), a data preprocessing unit (P120), an AI analysis unit (P130), a charging profile calculation unit (P140), a charging control unit (P150), a safety control unit (P160), and a notification and learning update unit (P170).
[0041] The data collection unit (P110) collects current, voltage, and temperature data from the sensing unit (300) placed in each slot unit (200) of the storage box body (100) and transmits them to the AI control module (410) of the controller (400). The current sensor measures the current flowing during the charging process in real time to check for overcurrent, the voltage sensor verifies the stability of the applied voltage, and the temperature sensor detects the heat generation state inside the portable terminal (30) and the slot unit (200). This data is used as basic data to ensure charging safety and efficiency and is provided as an input value for AI analysis.
[0042] The data preprocessing unit (P120) is responsible for converting collected current, voltage, and temperature data into a state suitable for analysis. Specifically, it removes noise signals, corrects data deviations by terminal and time period, and generates a standardized dataset. Through this, it minimizes errors caused by external factors or environmental fluctuations and provides stable input data so that the AI analysis unit (P130) can perform more accurate pattern learning and prediction.
[0043] The AI analysis unit (P130) learns the charging characteristics and heat generation patterns of the battery based on standardized data provided by the data preprocessing unit (P120), and establishes an optimal charging strategy according to the type and usage history of the terminal (30). It analyzes detailed features such as current fluctuation, voltage stability, and heat generation curves using machine learning or deep learning models, and continuously improves the charging characteristics for each terminal model through repeated learning. Through this, the battery life of the terminal can be optimized while ensuring charging stability.
[0044] The charging profile calculation unit (P140) calculates a voltage and current curve optimized for each portable terminal (30) based on the results of the AI analysis unit (P130) and applies it in slot unit (200) units. Specifically, during the initial charging stage, a relatively high current is applied to perform fast charging, and when the remaining battery level reaches a certain level, the current is gradually reduced to minimize heat generation and power loss. In addition, the voltage rise rate is adjusted according to the chemical characteristics of the battery, and when a specific critical temperature is reached, the charging speed is automatically reduced or charging is temporarily stopped. In this process, the charging profile calculation unit (P140) reflects existing charging history data for each terminal to provide a personalized charging strategy tailored to the user's charging habits and battery condition, even for the same model. As a result, the charging profile calculation unit (P140) is clearly distinguished from existing charging storage units in that it goes beyond simply controlling current and voltage to comprehensively perform multi-stage charging curve control along the time axis, heat management, and charging efficiency optimization.
[0045] The charging control unit (P150) performs the role of controlling the actual power supply by applying the calculated charging profile to each slot unit (200). Each slot unit (200) is connected to a portable terminal (30) through an independent power line, and the controller (400) precisely controls the voltage and current according to the instructions of the charging profile calculation unit (P140). Through this, optimized charging conditions are maintained for each portable terminal (30), and the power is automatically cut off upon completion of charging to prevent overcharging. In addition, the charging control unit (P150) provides an energy saving effect by distributing and adjusting the total power load when multiple slot units (200) are charged simultaneously, thereby minimizing power peaks.
[0046] The safety control unit (P160) performs the function of immediately cutting off charging of the corresponding slot and operating the cooling unit (600) when abnormal situations such as overcurrent, overvoltage, or overheating occur during the charging process. It detects dangerous conditions by linking with the sensing unit (300) in real time, and immediately sends a control signal when a threshold is exceeded to prevent safety accidents such as fire, battery damage, or device failure. In addition, the safety control unit (P160) records event logs and transmits them to the administrator, which are then utilized for future maintenance and accident cause analysis.
[0047] The notification and learning update unit (P170) is responsible for the function of notifying users and administrators in real time of all events and charging status that occur during the charging and safety control process. It is linked with a mobile app, web interface, and administrator server to immediately provide charging completion notifications, overheating warnings, and charging anomaly records, and this data is reflected back into the AI analysis unit (P130) as learning data. In other words, by combining the notification function and the learning function, the charging storage unit (10) evolves into a self-learning system that continuously improves charging efficiency and stability over time.
[0048] The controller (400) can selectively block the charging of a slot unit (200) when an abnormal sign occurs among a plurality of slot units (200) through the sensing unit (300).
[0049] The controller (400) can analyze the heat generated by multiple slot units (200) using an AI control module (410) and stop charging the corresponding slot unit (200) if it exceeds a set standard. Specifically, the AI control module (410) embedded in the controller (400) collects the amount of heat generated during charging of the portable terminal (30) in real time through a temperature sensor installed in each slot unit (200), analyzes it, and compares it with a normal range. In this process, it does not simply look at the current temperature value, but also considers the rate of heat increase during the charging process, the temperature distribution with surrounding slots, and past charging history to precisely determine whether there is an abnormality in heat generation.
[0050] If the amount of heat generated by a specific slot unit (200) exceeds a preset reference temperature or heat pattern, the AI control module (410) immediately stops charging the slot and activates the cooling module to stabilize the temperature. At the same time, the manager can be aware of the situation through a notification and, if necessary, can remotely inspect or restart the slot. This method enables much more intelligent and proactive safety management than existing systems that simply stop charging at a certain temperature, and can effectively prevent risks such as fire caused by heat, battery damage, and heat spread to adjacent slots.
[0051] A portable terminal storage type charging storage box (10) according to one embodiment of the present invention may further include a multi-authentication unit (500) and a cooling unit (600).
[0052] A multi-authentication unit (500) is provided in the main body of the storage box (100) and is connected to a controller (400) for opening and closing the door (210) of the slot unit (200), and can be authenticated by at least one of fingerprint recognition, facial recognition, and mobile OTP. Specifically, the multi-authentication unit (500) is a security device that performs user authentication by being coupled to the front of the main body of the storage box (100) or the door (210) of the slot unit (200), and identifies the user using at least one of a fingerprint recognition sensor, a facial recognition camera, and one-time password (OTP) authentication through a mobile terminal. Fingerprint recognition verifies access rights by matching the unique pattern of the fingerprint, facial recognition compares the registered user with the real-time user using a 2D or 3D image analysis algorithm, and mobile OTP minimizes the possibility of forgery by receiving a password that is updated at regular intervals through an app linked to a server. The multi-authentication unit (500) is directly connected to the controller (400) to control the opening and closing authority of the door (210) of the slot unit (200). Since multiple authentication methods can be combined rather than a single authentication method, security is significantly enhanced. In addition, the administrator can remotely check authentication logs or grant opening and closing authority in emergency situations, thereby ensuring both user convenience and system safety.
[0053] A cooling unit (600) is provided in the main body of the storage box (100) and can provide cold air to a plurality of slot units (200) under the control of a controller (400). Specifically, the cooling unit (600) provided in the main body of the storage box (100) operates according to a control signal from the controller (400) and performs the role of suppressing heat generation by discharging heat generated inside the slot units (200) to the outside or introducing cold air. The types of cooling units (600) may include a general axial fan, a blower fan used when space is constrained, and a centrifugal fan capable of low noise and high efficiency design, and are selected according to the size of the storage box, slot arrangement, and amount of heat. The cooling units (600) are driven based on a DC motor, and the rotation speed is variably adjusted according to the results of the controller (400) analyzing the temperature data of the slot units (200) in real time.
[0054] Additionally, the cooling unit (600) is positioned between the front and rear sections of the storage box or between slots to optimize airflow, performing localized cooling in areas where heat is concentrated and overall cooling through convection when the entire system is in a high-temperature state. This cooling unit (600) is characterized by not only lowering heat but also operating efficiently only when necessary in conjunction with the AI control module (410), thereby reducing noise and power consumption and maintaining a stable charging environment even during prolonged use.
[0055] In addition, a portable terminal storage type charging storage box (10) according to one embodiment of the present invention may further include a tracking unit (700) and a charging scheduling unit (800).
[0056] A tracking unit (700) is provided in the main body of the storage box (100), and an RFID or BLE reader provided in the slot unit (200) is controlled by a controller (400) to recognize whether a portable terminal (30) has been put in or taken out, and can send a notification to the user and the manager if the unrecovered state persists for more than a set time. Specifically, the tracking unit (700) is a device that automatically recognizes whether a portable terminal (30) being stored has been put in or taken out through an RFID reader or a BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) reader installed in each slot unit (200), and transmits the information to the controller when the user puts the terminal (30) into or takes it out of the charging storage box (10). For example, when a terminal with an RFID tag attached is put into the slot, the reader reads the tag and records whether the terminal is stored, and when a BLE signal is used, the Bluetooth signal of the terminal is recognized to check the current location and status. Based on this data, the controller sends a notification to the user if the terminal remains unrecovered for a long time, i.e., if the unrecovered state persists for longer than a set time, and simultaneously notifies the management server or the administrator terminal to prevent the possibility of loss or theft in advance. This tracking unit (700) simultaneously improves user convenience and security, and has the characteristic of significantly increasing device management efficiency in environments used by many people, such as public institutions, schools, and companies.
[0057] The charging scheduling unit (800) is provided in the storage box body (100) and automatically cuts off the power supply to the portable terminal (30) that has completed charging under the control of the controller (400), and can save energy by intelligently adjusting the charging order by considering the power load when charging multiple slot units (200). Specifically, the charging scheduling unit (800) is a device that performs efficient charging and minimizes unnecessary power consumption by analyzing the charging status of each slot unit (200) and the total power load in real time according to the control of the controller (400). This charging scheduling unit (800) first automatically detects the portable terminal (30) that has completed charging and immediately cuts off the power supply to the corresponding slot to prevent overcharging and eliminate standby power consumption. Subsequently, when a charging request occurs simultaneously from multiple slot units (200), it intelligently adjusts the charging order by slot by considering the power usage of the entire storage box (10) and the power load by time period. For example, the number of charging slots is limited during peak power hours to distribute the load, and multiple slots are charged simultaneously during periods when surplus power is available to maximize energy saving effects. Through this, the present invention provides an intelligent charging management function that goes beyond simply charging individual devices to realize power efficiency, battery protection, and system stability.
[0058] Meanwhile, the storage box body (100) of the charging storage box (10) of the present invention is configured to form the basic frame of the overall structure, and ergonomically designed handles (120) are arranged on both sides so that the user can conveniently grasp the storage box (10) when moving it or changing its installation location. These handles (120) are made of highly durable materials such as metal or reinforced plastic so that they do not deform or break even after prolonged use, and are designed to have an appropriate thickness and curvature considering the user's hand size and grip. In addition, the handles function not only for simple ease of movement but also to provide stable control when changing direction or positioning during the installation process of the storage box (10). An indicator (110) is provided on the upper part of the storage box body (100), and this indicator (110) intuitively provides the user and the manager with the current operating status of the storage box (10) and the charging status of each slot unit (200). The indicator (110) can be implemented in the form of an LED light or a small display, for example, set to indicate normal charging, blue charging completion, and red an abnormality or warning situation. This improves convenience by allowing the user to immediately check the status from the outside without directly opening the storage box (10).
[0059] Meanwhile, the slot unit (200) is provided in multiple numbers inside the storage box body (100) to provide a space for individually accommodating each portable terminal (30). Inside the slot unit (200), a storage space is formed to stably support the terminal, and shock-absorbing pads or insulating materials may be attached so that smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc. of various sizes can be stored without shaking or damage. A door (210) is installed on the front of the slot unit (200), and this door (210) is configured to protrude a certain distance forward so that the user can easily pull or push it. The door (210) can be opened and closed by rotating in one direction around a rotation axis, thereby opening or closing the storage space inside the slot. The rotation angle of the door is set to approximately 90 degrees or more, so that sufficient opening space can be secured when the user inserts or removes the terminal (30). In addition, the surface of the door is finished with a scratch-resistant coating or a flame-retardant material to simultaneously satisfy safety and durability.
[0060] A door lock (220) is integrally equipped in the door (210), and this door lock (220) is a key security device that controls the locking and unlocking of the door (210). The door lock (220) can be implemented as an electronic or mechanical type; in the case of an electronic type, it is linked with a controller (400) and can be unlocked only after undergoing a multi-authentication procedure such as fingerprint recognition, facial recognition, or OTP authentication. In the case of a mechanical type, a basic key or dial method can be used as an auxiliary method, allowing for emergency opening and closing even if the electronic device malfunctions. Since the door lock (220) is controlled on an individual slot basis, only specific slots can be selectively opened and closed, so no conflicts or confusion occur when multiple users use the storage box (10) simultaneously. Additionally, the door lock (220) may include a function that generates an alarm or immediately sends a warning signal to the administrator server when an attempt is made to forcibly open it while it is locked, thereby further enhancing security and management efficiency.
