Description

Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a valve assembly, and more specifically, to a multi-directional valve assembly installed in a fluid path to control the flow direction and flow rate of said fluid. Background Technology

[0002] Generally, a valve assembly is a device installed in a fluid path to control the direction and flow rate of the fluid, and the types of valve bodies constituting the valve assembly include ball valves, globe valves, plug valves, and gate valves.

[0003] Among these, the ball valve is structured such that a ball with a through hole is inserted into the valve body of the valve body, and the ball rotates by the operation of a handle to open or close the flow path or regulate the flow rate.

[0004] In designing a conventional ball valve, in addition to airtightness to prevent leakage of the fluid being transported and durability to prevent wear on the valve seat caused by the ball valve, controllability to accurately control the fluid flow rate through the manipulation of the ball's position must also be considered; these factors serve as criteria for evaluating the performance of the valve assembly constituting the ball valve.

[0005] In particular, a valve assembly consisting of a ball valve used in an air conditioning system of an automobile is combined with an actuator to perform fluid flow path switching and flow rate control in three or more directions, and a representative technology thereof is disclosed in Korean Registered Patent Publication No. 10-1506133.

[0006] According to such conventional technology, not only is the process of connecting the valve body, which is connected to the actuator, to the valve body together with the valve seat difficult, but if there is a dimensional error in the valve seat, defects may occur during the process of connecting the valve seat to the groove formed in the valve body, resulting in damage to the valve seat or incomplete connection.

[0007] Accordingly, there was a difficulty in meeting the manufacturing precision of the above valve seat, which ultimately led to the disadvantage of increased manufacturing costs.

[0008] Furthermore, thermal management technology is becoming paramount in eco-friendly vehicles such as electric vehicles, fuel cell vehicles, and hydrogen vehicles, and accordingly, research on enhancing thermal management capabilities through refrigerant valves is being actively conducted.

[0009] In particular, unlike internal combustion engine vehicles, eco-friendly vehicles do not use waste heat, so there is a need for the development of a centralized thermal management module that requires thermal comfort. Prior art literature

Specific details for implementing the invention

[0050] Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the attached drawings.

[0051] As illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 4, a valve assembly (1000) according to the present invention comprises: an actuator (100) including a motor (not shown) and an output shaft (120) that is rotationally driven by the motor; and a valve body (200) having a receiving space (210) formed inside, a shaft guide hole (220) formed at the top that communicates with the receiving space (210) and is for inserting the output shaft (120), a pair of first coupling holes (230) (240) formed on the outer surface that communicate with the receiving space (210) and are spaced apart in the circumferential direction, and a first flow hole (250) formed through the bottom. A circumferential cover (300) that is coupled to the valve body (200), has a receiving groove (310) formed at the top with an open top so as to receive the lower part of the valve body (200), has a second coupling hole (330) (340) formed on the outer surface facing the pair of first coupling holes (230) (240), and has a lower coupling hole (350) formed at the bottom to which the lower part of the valve body (200), having a first flow hole (250), is coupled; and a pair of coupling adjustment pieces (400) (500) that are detachably coupled to the first coupling holes (230) (240) passing through each of the second coupling holes (330) (340), are adjustable so as to move toward or away from the receiving space (210), and at least one has a second flow hole (410) formed to communicate with the outside of the receiving space (210). A partially spherical valve body (600) that is received within the above receiving space (210), has its upper end coupled so as not to be rotatable relative to the output shaft (120), has a first opening (610) formed on its outer surface to communicate with the second flow hole (410) of the coupling adjustment piece (400), and has a second opening (620) formed on its lower end that communicates with the first opening (610) and is connected to the first flow hole (250);The integrated multi-valve assembly comprises a ring-shaped valve seat (710)(720) respectively interposed between one end of the coupling adjustment piece (400)(500) and the valve body (600) within the receiving space (210), and a flow connection part (800) that transmits fluid by communicating with the first flow hole (250) of the valve body (200) and the second flow hole (410) of the coupling adjustment piece (400).

[0052] According to this configuration, with the valve body (200) and the circumference cover (300) assembled, one coupling adjustment piece (400) is coupled through one second coupling hole (330) and the first coupling hole (230), one valve seat (710) is installed in contact with one coupling adjustment piece (400) through the other second coupling hole (340) and the first coupling hole (240), and with the valve body (600) received in the receiving space (210) through the other second coupling hole (340) and the first coupling hole (240), the other valve seat (720) is brought into contact with the valve body (600), and the other coupling adjustment piece (500) is coupled to the other second coupling hole (340) and the first coupling hole (240), and then the coupling strength of the valve body (600) is adjusted through screw coupling, so the assembly work is very easy and mass production is excellent. The advantage is that the joint strength of the valve body (600) can be conveniently adjusted, allowing for the simultaneous pursuit of airtightness and ease of rotation.

[0053] To this end, the upper and lower diameters of the valve body (600) and the outer diameters of the valve seat (710)(720) need to be larger than the diameters of the first coupling hole (230)(240) and the second coupling hole (330)(340).

[0054] The above-mentioned coupling adjustment piece (400)(500) has at least a portion of its longitudinal section formed in a cylindrical shape, and a screw portion (420)(520) is formed on the outer surface of the cylindrical shape so that it can be screw-coupled to the second coupling hole (230)(240) of the circumference cover (300).

[0055] Accordingly, the valve body (600) can be moved finely by adjusting the screw connection of the coupling adjustment piece (400)(500) with the valve body (600) in between, so that the valve body (600) can be precisely positioned and the coupling strength can be adjusted.

[0056] In this case, it is preferable that a pair of valve seats (710)(720) have a circular ring shape and that a virtual straight line connecting the centers of the pair of valve seats (710)(720) passes through the center of the spherical valve body (600) so that when one coupling adjustment piece (400) is screw-adjusted, the other coupling adjustment piece (500) supports the valve body (600).

[0057] The valve seat (710)(720) can be pressed by the above-mentioned coupling adjustment piece (400)(500) to a suitable amount, so that rotational support of the valve body (600) is possible without leakage even when there is some dimensional variation (error) and assembly variation (error).

[0058] It is preferable that the second flow hole (410) is formed by penetrating the longitudinal end and the other end of the coupling adjustment piece (400) so that fluid can be transmitted through the flow connection part (800) to the first opening (610) in the valve body (600).

[0059] It is preferable that the valve body (200) includes a lower body (200a) which is inserted from the top into the receiving groove (310) of the circumferential cover (300) and has the first coupling hole (230) (240) formed on its outer surface and the first flow hole (250) formed on its lower surface, and an upper body (200b) which is formed to extend radially from the top of the lower body (200a) and rests on the top of the circumferential cover (300), thereby improving the convenience of assembly and forming a compact structure.

[0060] In addition, the assembly of the valve body (200) and the perimeter cover (300) is formed in a cylindrical shape overall, making it easy to assemble into the coupling groove (810) formed in the manifold (800), and facilitating mass production and quality control.

[0061] That is, the cylindrical assembly of the valve body (200) and the perimeter cover (300) can be simply assembled by slidingly joining to the coupling groove (810) of the manifold (800) and fastening with a bolt or screw.

[0062] Additionally, as illustrated in FIGS. 4 to 7, the lower body (200a) is spaced apart from the inner surface of the receiving groove (310) of the perimeter cover (300) to form a spaced-apart passage (360), and a bottom passage (370) is formed on the bottom of the perimeter cover (300) that communicates with the spaced-apart passage (360) and penetrates to the outside, and another coupling adjustment piece (500) may have a through hole (590) formed at one end facing the valve body (600) and the other end closed, and a third flow hole (510) that communicates with the spaced-apart passage (360) may be formed on the outer surface.

[0063] It is preferable that the above-mentioned floor channels (370) be composed of multiple channels and arranged spaced apart from each other along the circumferential direction.

[0064] Accordingly, the fluid introduced through the first flow hole (250) can be bypassed through the third flow hole (510) of the coupling adjustment piece (500) and discharged through the bottom flow path (370) and the passage inside the flow connection part (800), thereby having the advantage of being able to flexibly adapt to the internal passage structure of the flow connection part (800).

[0065] For example, as illustrated in FIG. 7, if the flow connection part (800) is configured as a manifold and an inlet (850) and a first outlet (860) are to be placed at close distances on one side of the manifold, a coupling adjustment piece (500) having a third flow hole (510) formed therein can be applied.

[0066] A second outlet (870) for delivering fluid may be formed in the above manifold, in communication with the second flow hole (410) of the coupling adjustment piece (400).

[0067] Of course, various other flow paths may be formed in the above manifold in addition to the inlet (850), the first outlet (860), and the second outlet (870).

[0068] The third flow hole (510) has a shape in which its width gradually decreases in the direction toward the receiving space (210), so it is also possible to control the flow area and flow rate.

[0069] Thus, according to the present invention, the valve body (200) and the perimeter cover (300) can be detachably assembled to each other, and there is an advantage in that a separate, independent internal flow path can be additionally formed through the space between the valve body (200) and the perimeter cover (300).

[0070] That is, as illustrated in FIGS. 8 and 9, depending on the selection of the coupling adjustment piece (400) (500), the coupling adjustment piece (500) is applied to set a path for the fluid discharged through the third flow hole (510) to flow into the bottom flow path (370) through the space between the valve body (200) and the perimeter cover (300), and a path penetrating the front and rear ends of the coupling adjustment piece (400) can be set, allowing for the free setting of the valve flow path to suit the user's needs.

[0071] For example, depending on the position of the flow path formed on the inner surface of the coupling groove (810) of the manifold (800), a valve assembly may be selectively applied in which a coupling adjustment piece (400) having a second flow hole (410) formed longitudinally or a coupling adjustment piece (500) having a third flow hole (510) formed is installed.

[0072] In this case, the sealing between the coupling adjustment piece (500), the valve body (200), and the circumferential cover (300), and the sealing between the valve body (200) and the circumferential cover (300) can be reliably achieved through the O-ring (900), so that there is no difficulty in forming a separate flow path.

[0073] When the output shaft (120) of the actuator (100) is rotated, the projection (121) formed at the tip of the output shaft (120) is coupled to the slot groove (640) of the valve body (600) and rotates together, and the first opening (610) of the valve body (600) communicates with the second flow hole (410) of one coupling adjustment piece (400) or communicates with the through hole (590) of the opposite coupling adjustment piece (500) to determine the direction and flow rate of the flow.

[0074] That is, depending on the rotational position of the spherical valve body (600), the flow rate through one coupling adjustment piece (400) and the flow rate through the opposite coupling adjustment piece (500) can be determined.

[0075] As illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 3 and FIG. 7, the fluid connection portion (800) may be composed of a manifold, which is a multi-integrated valve module, having one or more coupling grooves (810) formed so that the assembly of the valve body (200) and the perimeter cover (300) can be detachably coupled, and the manifold may have internally formed connecting passages (850)(860)(870) connected to the first flow hole (250), the second flow hole (410), the third flow hole (510), and the bottom flow path (370).

[0076] That is, by unitizing it into a manifold type, it is possible to assemble the assembly of the valve body (200) and the circumferential cover (300) into the coupling groove (810) set to match the appropriate position and internal flow path desired by the user, thereby enabling increased productivity and cost reduction through the manufacture of a more standardized valve module.

[0077] In addition, by connecting the assembly of the valve body (200) and the perimeter cover (300) to each of the multiple coupling grooves (810) formed in the manifold and then appropriately connecting the flow paths inside the manifold, it is possible to form valves with various paths such as 4-way, 5-way, and 6-way paths.

[0078] Meanwhile, as illustrated in FIGS. 3 and 4, a straight projection (121) is formed at the bottom of the output shaft (120) of the actuator (100), and a straight slot groove (640) to which the projection (121) is coupled is formed at the top of the valve body (600), so that even when the actuator (100) is pre-coupled to the manifold and the projection (121) is fitted into the slot groove (640), the valve body (600) can be finely moved by the coupling adjustment piece (400) (500).

[0079] Undescribed configuration symbol C is an output shaft cover positioned at the top of the valve body (200) and rotatably supported with the output shaft (120) inserted therein, and 570 is an O-ring coupling groove formed around the circumference of the coupling adjustment piece (500).

[0080] In addition, the connection between the valve body (200) and the perimeter cover (300) can be a fixed connection by a press-fit method or a detachable connection.

[0082] The present invention described above is not limited by the aforementioned embodiments and attached drawings, and it will be obvious to those skilled in the art that various substitutions, modifications, variations, and changes are possible within the scope of the technical concept of the present invention.
