Description

Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a technology for reducing noise in an air purification device. Background Technology

[0003] The installation of air purification devices is becoming widespread for the management of harmful substances, such as indoor fine dust, and accordingly, various types of air purification devices are being proposed. Generally, air purification devices are equipped with a blower featuring a motor and impeller to draw in contaminated air and discharge purified air; however, the high noise generated during the high-speed rotation of this blower causes significant discomfort and stress to residents and workers. Furthermore, as cases of hearing deterioration caused by such noise continue to occur, there is a demand for the development of technologies to effectively block or reduce the noise generated by the blower.

[0004] Generally, the noise generated by air purifiers varies depending on the model and size of the air purifier, but on average it is about 60 to 80 dB, which is relatively high noise.

[0005] However, in most existing air purification devices, egg carton-shaped sound-absorbing materials were attached to the inner upper surface of the blower and the ceiling surface to reduce noise. Recently, devices equipped with separate noise reduction units near the blower and air outlet have been devised; however, there have been no reported cases where technology to minimize noise has been applied not only to the air outflow space surrounding the blower—the primary source of noise—but also to the air inflow space. [0025] The structure, operating principle, and effects of the present invention will be explained in more detail below with reference to the attached drawings.

[0027] FIG. 1 is a diagram for schematically explaining an air purification device according to the prior art, FIG. 2 is a diagram for schematically explaining a noise-reducing air purification device according to one embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view for explaining baffle plates (10, 12) and penetration tubes (11, 13) according to one embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 4 is a diagram for explaining the principle of noise reduction by baffle plates (10, 12) and penetration tubes (11, 13) according to one embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 5 is a diagram for explaining baffle plates (10, 12) and penetration tubes (11, 13) according to another embodiment of the present invention.

[0029] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 5, a noise-reducing air purification device according to one embodiment of the present invention may include an intake port (1), a filter (2), an impeller (3), a motor (4), and an exhaust port (5). Additionally, as a structure for reducing noise, it may include baffles (10, 12) and penetration tubes (11, 13).

[0031] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the airflow within the noise-reducing air purifier is examined. First, contaminated air is introduced through an intake port (1) located at the bottom. The introduced air is purified into clean air as it passes through a filter (2), and the purified air is discharged into the atmosphere through an outlet port (5) located at the top, passing through an impeller (3) and a motor (4). During this process, the motor (4) rotates at high speed, and the impeller (3) connected to the bottom of the motor (4) also rotates at high speed, generating high noise. In an exemplary embodiment, the rotational speed of the motor (4) and the impeller (3) may reach approximately 3440 rpm. At this time, baffles (10, 12) and penetration pipes (11, 13) may be installed to block or reduce the noise generated by the high-speed rotation of the motor (4) and the impeller (3). Hereinafter, the device including the motor (4) and the impeller (3) is collectively referred to as a blower.

[0033] Baffle plates (10, 12) can be installed at the upper and lower parts of the blower. In one embodiment, the first baffle plate (10) can be provided between the filter (2) and the impeller (3), and the second baffle plate (12) can be provided between the motor (4) and the outlet (5).

[0034] The first baffle plate (10) can primarily block the first noise generated during the process in which air purified by passing through the filter (2) is sucked into the inside of the blower by the rotation of the blower. At this time, the first noise can be blocked by hitting the first baffle plate (10), as shown in FIG. 4.

[0035] The second baffle plate (12) can primarily block the second noise generated during the process of discharging purified air inside the blower to the outlet (5) by the rotation of the blower. At this time, the second noise can also be blocked by hitting the second baffle plate (12), as shown in FIG. 4. In this way, the baffle plates (10, 12) can perform the function of separating the space to which the blower belongs from other spaces and partitioning it into a space that reduces noise.

[0036] In addition, noise generated during the rotation of the motor (4) and impeller (3) can also be reduced by the baffle plates (10, 12).

[0038] The penetration tube (11, 13) is A plurality of penetration tubes (11, 13) may be provided on the baffle plates (10, 12) in a manner that allows them to be joined by penetrating through the baffle plates (10, 12). The penetration tubes (11, 13) may be cylindrical structures, and a plurality of penetration holes (11-1, 13-1) may be formed on their outer surface. The penetration tubes (11, 13) may have an internal opening and may include a hollow portion (11-2, 13-2). In one embodiment, a separate sound-absorbing material may be provided inside the penetration tubes (11, 13).

[0039] In one embodiment, a plurality of through holes (11-1, 13-1) may be provided on the side of the cylindrical structure of the through tube (11, 13). In another embodiment, an opening (11-3, 13-3) with at least a portion open may be provided on the upper and lower surfaces of the cylindrical structure of the through tube (11, 13). For example, the upper and lower surfaces of the cylindrical structure of the through tube (11, 13) may be implemented in the form of a cover with perforated holes formed therein, and these perforated holes may function as openings.

[0040] In one embodiment, air may flow in and out through the through hole (11-1, 13-1), the hollow portion (11-2, 13-2), and the opening (11-3, 13-3). The first through pipe (11) may perform the role of secondarily reducing the first noise. Referring to FIG. 4, in an exemplary embodiment, with respect to the first baffle plate (10), air may be introduced (B) through the first through hole (11-1) located below the first baffle plate (10), and air may be discharged (D) through the first through hole (11-1) located above the first baffle plate (10).

[0041] In another embodiment, air may also be introduced (A) through the opening located below the first baffle plate (10) among the first openings (11-3) provided on the upper and lower surfaces of the first penetration tube (11). Additionally, air may also be introduced (C) through the opening located above the first baffle plate (10) among the first openings (11-3) provided on the upper and lower surfaces of the first penetration tube (11).

[0042] Meanwhile, air introduced into the first penetration tube (11) can pass through the first hollow section (11-2) and be discharged outside the first penetration tube (11).

[0043] In this way, as air from outside the first penetration pipe (11) passes through the inside of the first penetration pipe (11) and is discharged back outside the first penetration pipe (11), the air flow velocity is reduced and the pressure is changed, thereby reducing noise.

[0044] The second penetration tube (13) can also reduce noise in the same way as the first penetration tube (11) described above.

[0045] In addition, the penetration pipe (11, 13) is combined with the baffle plate (10, 12) to separate the space containing the blower from other spaces, thereby serving the function of partitioning the space into a noise-reducing space.

[0046] In one embodiment, a penetration tube (11, 13) can be coupled to a baffle plate (10, 12) such that the upper and lower surfaces of the cylindrical structure are perpendicular to the baffle plate (10, 12). Accordingly, the effect of reducing noise can be enhanced as noise is reflected to the side of the penetration tube (11, 13) forming a curved surface.

[0047] In another embodiment, the airflow may be changed several times during the process of air entering and exiting through the penetration tubes (11, 13), and the effect of noise reduction may be enhanced as it collides with the penetration tubes (11, 13).

[0048] Meanwhile, in another embodiment, the penetration tube (11, 13) may be arranged such that an imaginary line perpendicular to the upper and lower surfaces of the cylindrical penetration tube (11, 13) is perpendicular to the baffle plate (10, 12). In this case, the noise reduction function may be relatively reduced compared to the previously described embodiment (an embodiment in which an imaginary line perpendicular to the upper and lower surfaces of the cylindrical penetration tube (11, 13) is horizontal to the baffle plate (10, 12).

[0050] Although representative embodiments of the present invention have been described in detail above, those skilled in the art will understand that various modifications can be made to the above-described embodiments without departing from the scope of the present invention. Therefore, the scope of the present invention should not be limited to the described embodiments, but should be defined by the claims set forth below as well as equivalents thereof.
