Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a modular battery module case. Specifically, according to the present invention, by utilizing the structural features of a solder that melts immediately by the high current generated when a high current is generated and a contact pin in which elastic force is accumulated internally, the invention relates to a modular battery module case that automatically blocks a short circuit occurring during assembly and disassembly processes with a battery cell in which a high current is generated during use, and allows for intuitive verification of the cell. Background Technology
[0002] This section provides background information related to the present disclosure, which is not necessarily prior art.
[0003] The clean energy industry, including various methods such as ESG management, is expanding explosively.
[0004] Various electric mobile devices utilizing electric energy as a representative clean energy source are being introduced.
[0005] Various devices that utilize electric energy as a power source for movement, such as electric cars, electric scooters, electric kickboards, and electric bicycles, have now deeply permeated daily life.
[0006] In particular, electric mobile devices such as electric scooters, electric kickboards, and electric bicycles have relatively less burden regarding charging locations and time compared to electric vehicles, and since they are mainly used for short-distance travel, their utility value is high even with current battery performance, so their adoption is rapidly expanding.
[0007] However, secondary batteries, which are installed in these electric mobile devices to supply electrical energy, are becoming the center of Korea's manufacturing industry.
[0008] This is because as the adoption of electric mobile devices expands and increases, the demand for secondary batteries installed in them is also rapidly rising.
[0009] However, recently, various issues regarding secondary batteries have been raised.
[0010] First, while the electrical energy generated from current rechargeable batteries can be perceived as decarbonized clean energy, the diverse and fatal environmental pollution caused during their manufacturing process has become known, leading to questions about whether electric mobile devices utilizing rechargeable batteries are truly means of transportation that use clean energy.
[0011] Furthermore, secondary batteries, which are produced and consumed in massive quantities, present many challenges regarding their disposal or recycling.
[0012] Since recycling or reuse industrial facilities have not yet been sufficiently expanded, the continuous consumption of various mineral resources, which are already rare, is necessary.
[0013] Furthermore, the various secondary batteries currently developed are products focused on performance improvements such as charge capacity and fast charging, and the development of products with structural features suitable for recycling or reuse after their normal lifespan is still weak.
[0014] Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop secondary batteries suitable for reuse and recycling. In particular, given that electric mobile devices are expected to have a higher penetration rate than electric vehicles, there is a growing need to develop power supply systems for these devices that facilitate recycling or reuse not only at the battery pack and module levels but also down to the battery cell level. [0025] Hereinafter, an embodiment implementing a prefabricated battery module case according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
[0026] However, it should be noted that the intrinsic technical concept of the present invention is not limited to the embodiments described below, and encompasses a scope in which the embodiments described below can be easily proposed by a person skilled in the art based on the intrinsic technical concept of the present invention through substitution or modification.
[0027] Furthermore, the terms used below are selected for the convenience of explanation; therefore, in grasping the intrinsic technical concept of the present invention, they should not be limited to their dictionary meanings but should be appropriately interpreted in a sense consistent with the technical concept of the present invention.
[0028] FIG. 1 is a drawing showing a first embodiment of an assembled battery module case according to the present invention.
[0029] According to FIG. 1, the assembled battery module case according to the present embodiment includes a plurality of contact pins (100), a module circuit member (200) to which the contact pins (100) are fixed, and a fastening member (not shown).
[0030] The contact pin (100) includes a body portion (130), an elastic body (120), and a contact portion (110).
[0031] The body portion (130) forms the body of the contact pin (100) and accommodates a portion of the elastic body (120) and the contact portion (110) described later.
[0032] The elastic body (120) is positioned inside the body part (130) and provides elastic force in one direction in response to compressive force in the other direction.
[0033] The contact portion (110) is inserted into one side of the body portion (130) and protrudes from the end of the body portion (130) by means of the elastic body (120).
[0034] At this time, the contact pin (100) may further include an insertion body (140) that is positioned opposite to the contact portion (110) and inserted into the body portion (130) so as to increase or decrease the overall length.
[0035] The module circuit member (200) has a through hole and a circuit pattern, and a contact pin (100) is positioned through the through hole and soldered to the circuit pattern, and a plurality of contact pin body parts are connected.
[0036] The through hole is formed so that the contact pin (100) can be inserted and coupled in one direction and removed and separated in the other direction.
[0037] In addition, a circuit pattern is formed on the upper or lower surface of the module circuit member (200), and soldered contact pins, particularly body parts, are connected to enable serial or parallel connection between battery cells in contact with the contact part (110) as described later.
[0038] A fastening member (not shown) arranges a pair of module circuit members (200) such that contact pins (100) fixed to each face each other, and arranges a plurality of battery cells between the facing contact parts (110), so that the facing contact parts (110) come into contact with the positive and negative electrodes of the battery cell (1) and are pressed to generate elastic force by compressing the elastic body (120).
[0039] Accordingly, the prefabricated battery module case according to the present embodiment comprises a battery module in which a plurality of battery cells are connected in series or in parallel.
[0040] In addition, in the assembly battery module case according to the present embodiment, when a situation occurs where a high current flows through a specific contact pin (100), the contact pin (100) is separated from the module circuit member (200) connected by soldering, and at the same time, the contact portion (110) is separated from the electrode of the battery cell (100a).
[0041] That is, as a high current flows, the contact pin (100) is heated and the solder melts instantaneously, which weakens the bonding force between the contact pin (100) and the module circuit member (200), and at this time, due to the elastic force accumulated in the elastic body, the contact pin (100) is flung away in the opposite direction from the battery cell (1).
[0042] Accordingly, the high current discharge phenomenon is stopped, and since the contact pin (100) is separated from the module circuit member (200), the battery cell through which the high current has flowed can be clearly identified.
[0043] The situations in which a high current can flow through the contact pin (100) are typically as follows.
[0044] First, due to performance issues of the battery cell (1), the internal resistance of the battery cell itself may decrease abnormally, causing a high current to flow.
[0045] Next, a high current may be generated in a specific contact pin (100) due to a short circuit that occurs during the disassembly or separation operation for performance evaluation of the battery cells (1) included in the assembly battery module case according to the present embodiment.
[0046] These phenomena must have their causes resolved immediately to prevent secondary accidents such as fire. In the assembly-type battery module case according to the present embodiment, the contact pin is detached from the module circuit member (200) due to the heat generation phenomenon caused by the high current that occurs initially, so the circuit is automatically cut off, thereby having the effect of eliminating the cause of the high current generation phenomenon.
[0047] In the assembly-type battery module case according to the present embodiment, a fastening member (not shown) penetrates the module circuit member (200) and the protective plate set (300) described later, and detachably fastens the contact pin (100) and the protective plate set (300).
[0048] The fastening member (not shown) may consist of a bolt penetrating the protective plate set (300) and a nut coupled thereto, or it may be a separate receiving case in which the battery cell (1) and the protective plate set (300) are accommodated.
[0049] In addition, in the assembled battery module case according to the present embodiment, the circuit pattern is preferably a printed circuit board having a connection circuit formed therein for connecting battery cells in series or in parallel.
[0050] FIG. 2 is a drawing showing a second embodiment of an assembled battery module case according to the present invention.
[0051] According to FIG. 2, in the assembled battery module case according to the present embodiment, the body portion (130) of the contact pin (100) further includes a protruding flange (150) that protrudes from the outer surface.
[0052] By employing a protruding flange (150), the height of the contact portion (110) can be maintained constant when the contact pin (100) is combined with the module circuit member (200).
[0053] This allows the elastic force formed in the elastic body (120) to be maintained at a constant level, so that each of the plurality of contact pins (100) fixed to the module circuit member (200) can have the same elastic force.
[0054] FIG. 3 is a drawing showing a third embodiment of an assembled battery module case in which a protective plate set is applied to the second embodiment of the assembled battery module case of FIG. 2.
[0055] Referring to FIG. 3, the third embodiment of the prefabricated battery module case according to the present embodiment may further include a set of protective plates (300) including an upper protective plate (310) and a lower protective plate (320).
[0056] The upper protective plate (310) is made of an insulating material and has a protruding hole through which the contact portion (110) protrudes to the upper surface, and covers the upper surface of the module circuit member (200).
[0057] Additionally, the lower protective plate (320) is made of an insulating material and has a lower groove (321) in which a portion of the other side of the contact pin (100) fixed to the module circuit member (200) is received, and covers and protects the lower surface of the module circuit member (200).
[0058] In addition, in the assembly battery module case according to the present embodiment, it is preferable that the lower groove (321) be formed deeper than the length of the contact pin (100) fixed to the module circuit member (200) protruding downward from the module circuit member (200).
[0059] At this time, it is obvious that the thickness of the lower protective plate (320) is formed to be thicker than the length of the contact pin (100) fixed to the module circuit member (200) protruding downward from the module circuit member (200).
[0060] In addition, another type of lower groove (321a) may have a cup structure with a closed lower side and not formed as a through shape to prevent loss of the contact pin, etc.
