Description

Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a refrigerator, more specifically, to a defrosting unit for removing frost formed on the evaporator of a refrigerator. Background Technology

[0002] The primary function of a refrigerator is to keep food fresh for a long time. To achieve this, the refrigerator utilizes a cooling system composed of a compressor, condenser, and evaporator to achieve a desired low temperature in the freezer or refrigerator compartment. During this process, air entering the freezer or refrigerator compartment exchanges heat with the evaporator and returns as cold air. Additionally, moisture present in the air adheres to the surface of the evaporator. This continuous accumulation of frost on the evaporator surface reduces heat exchange efficiency. To maintain heat exchange performance, conventional refrigerators perform defrosting by regularly operating a heater located at the bottom of the evaporator. At this time, the defrosting water, in which the frost has melted, is discharged into a defrosting water tray via a drain hose connected to a drain plate at the bottom.

[0003] Frost formed on the evaporator melts due to radiant and convective energy emitted from the surface of the heater installed at the bottom. However, a significant amount of the input energy causes a rise in temperature in the evaporator, the interior, and the refrigerator, and since the temperature must be lowered by that amount during operation, it reduces energy efficiency. [0033] As described above, the refrigerator (1) according to the present invention is not limited by various structures or uses and can be implemented as any type of refrigerator equipped with a refrigerator compartment or a freezer compartment.

[0034] FIG. 2 is a side view schematically showing the configuration of a refrigerator (1) according to the first embodiment of the present invention.

[0035] Referring to FIG. 2, the refrigerator (1) may be configured to include a main body (10) having a freezer (11), a refrigerator (12) and an ice-making room (13), and a cooling unit (20) capable of supplying cold air to the freezer (11), the refrigerator (12) and the ice-making room (13).

[0036] The main body (10) may include a freezer door (14) for opening and closing the freezer room (11) and a refrigerator door (15) for opening and closing the refrigerator room (12).

[0037] The user can open the freezer door (14) to store items in the freezer (11). A freezer box (16) may be installed in the freezer (11), and the user can store items in the freezer box (16).

[0038] A first cold air supply duct (17) may be provided on the rear wall of the freezer room (11). An evaporator (26) for the freezer room of the cooling unit (20), a freezer fan (17a), and a cold air outlet (17b) for the freezer room may be installed in the first cold air supply duct (17). The freezer fan (17a) can supply cold air, which has been heat-exchanged by the evaporator (26) for the freezer room, to the freezer room (11) through the cold air outlet (17b) for the freezer room.

[0039] The user can open the refrigerator door (15) to store items in the refrigerator (12). Multiple shelves (18) may be installed in the refrigerator (12), and the user can store items by loading them onto each shelf (18).

[0040] A second cold air supply duct (19) may be provided on the rear wall of the refrigerator room (12). An evaporator (27) for the refrigerator room and a refrigerator fan (19a) of the cooling unit (20) may be installed in the second cold air supply duct (19). A cold air outlet (19b) for the refrigerator room may be installed between the second cold air supply duct (19) and the refrigerator room (12). The refrigerator fan (19a) can supply cold air, which has been heat-exchanged by the evaporator (27) for the refrigerator room, to the refrigerator room (12) through the cold air outlet (19b).

[0041] The ice-making room (13) can be formed in a state of being insulated from the refrigerator room (12) by being partitioned from the refrigerator room (12) by an ice-making room case that forms a predetermined space inside.

[0042] An ice-making unit (131) that generates ice and an ice storage container (132) that stores the ice generated by the ice-making unit (131) may be installed in the ice-making room (13). The ice stored in the ice storage container (132) may be discharged by passing through a duct (133).

[0043] The cooling unit (20) may be configured to include a compressor (21), a condenser (22), a switching valve (23), a first expansion valve (24), a second expansion valve (25), evaporators (26, 27), and a refrigerant pipe (28). Since the evaporator (26) of the freezer room (11) and the evaporator (27) of the refrigerator room (12) have similar structures, only the evaporator (26) of the freezer room (11) will be described below.

[0044] The compressor (21) compresses the refrigerant into a high-temperature and high-pressure gaseous state. Specifically, the compressor (21) may be equipped with a motor for compressing the refrigerant.

[0045] The condenser (22) condenses the high-temperature and high-pressure gaseous refrigerant supplied from the compressor (21) into a liquid phase by exchanging heat with the outside air.

[0046] The switching valve (23) can selectively supply the liquid refrigerant sent from the condenser (22) to the ice-making room (13) or to the evaporator (26) of the freezer room (11).

[0047] The first expansion valve (24) can lower the pressure by allowing the low-temperature, high-pressure refrigerant supplied to the ice-making room (13) to pass through the capillary tube.

[0048] The second expansion valve (25) can lower the pressure by allowing the low-temperature, high-pressure refrigerant supplied to the evaporator (26) to pass through the capillary tube.

[0049] The evaporator (26) performs heat exchange with the air in the freezer (11) and refrigerator (12) through the low-temperature, low-pressure refrigerant that enters via the second expansion valve (25). According to the cooling cycle of the refrigerant, the evaporator (26) can evaporate the refrigerant as the low-temperature, low-pressure liquid refrigerant moves along the refrigerant pipe of the evaporator (26). Additionally, the evaporator (26) can absorb the heat required for the refrigerant to evaporate from the surrounding air. Accordingly, cold air cooled by the evaporator (26) can be formed around the evaporator (26). At this time, as the air around the evaporator (26) cools and the relative humidity decreases, a condensation phenomenon may occur in which water vapor contained in the air passing through the evaporator (26) condenses. Furthermore, water that has dropped below the freezing point may freeze and form frost on the surface of the evaporator (26). Alternatively, water vapor in the air may sublimate and become frost as it comes into contact with the low-temperature surface of the evaporator (26).

[0050] The refrigerant flowing through the refrigerant pipe (28) can be discharged from the compressor (21), passed through the condenser (22) and the second expansion valve (25), and then supplied to the evaporator (26) provided in the refrigerator and freezer rooms.

[0051] FIG. 3 is a block diagram showing the configuration of a refrigerator (1) according to the first embodiment of the present invention.

[0052] Referring to FIG. 3, the refrigerator (1) may include a compressor (21), an evaporator (26), a defrosting unit (30), a temperature sensor (40), and a processor (50). Here, the compressor (21) and the evaporator (26) are described above in relation to FIG. 2 and are not described redundantly.

[0053] The defrosting unit (30) can remove frost formed on the evaporator (26). Specifically, the defrosting unit (30) can generate heat to melt the frost formed on the evaporator (26). The structure and operation of the defrosting unit (30) will be described later.

[0054] The temperature sensor (40) detects the temperature around the evaporator (26). Specifically, the temperature sensor (40) can detect the temperature by being positioned on one side of the evaporator (26) to detect the phase change of frost formed on the evaporator (26). Here, the temperature sensor (40) can be installed at a location spaced apart from the defrosting unit (30) so that it can be reliably confirmed that all frost formed on the evaporator (26) is removed.

[0055] The processor (50) controls each component of the refrigerator (1). Specifically, the processor (50) can control a defrosting unit (30) for defrosting operation to remove frost from the evaporator (26).

[0056] The processor (50) can determine whether a defrost signal is input to perform defrost operation of the defrost unit (30). The defrost signal may be a signal detected by the temperature sensor (40).

[0057] Alternatively, the processor (50) may generate a defrost signal when the input information satisfies certain conditions. For example, the processor (50) may generate a defrost signal when the time accumulated from a timer accumulating the operating time of the compressor (21) reaches a preset time.

[0058] Alternatively, the processor (50) may generate a defrost signal based on the amount of frost accumulated on the evaporator (26) detected by a light sensor or a sensor that measures the electrical capacitance between the heat exchange fins of the evaporator (26).

[0059] The processor (50) can control the defrosting unit (30) until a preset defrosting completion condition, such as a defrosting time or a temperature detected by the evaporator (26), satisfies a predetermined threshold value.

[0060] The processor (50) includes at least one general-purpose processor that loads at least a portion of a control program from a non-volatile memory where the control program is installed into a volatile memory and executes the loaded control program, and may be implemented as, for example, a CPU (Central Processing Unit), an AP (application processor), or a microprocessor.

[0061] The processor (50) may include a single core, dual core, triple core, quad core, and multiples thereof. Multiple processors (50) may be provided. The processor (50) may include, for example, a main processor and a sub processor that operates in sleep mode (for example, a mode in which only standby power is supplied). Additionally, the processor, ROM, and RAM may be interconnected via an internal bus.

[0062] The processor (50) can be implemented in a form that is included in the main SoC (Main SoC) mounted on the PCB embedded in the refrigerator (1).

[0063] The control program may include program(s) implemented in at least one form among BIOS, device driver, operating system, firmware, platform, and application. The application may be pre-installed or stored at the time of manufacturing the refrigerator (1), or may be installed based on data received from an external source at the time of subsequent use. The data of the application may be downloaded to the refrigerator (1) from an external server, such as an application market, for example. Such an external server is an example of a computer program product, but is not limited thereto.

[0064] FIG. 4 is a drawing of a defrosting unit (30) installed in an evaporator (26) according to a first embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 5 is a drawing of a side view of a defrosting unit (30) installed in an evaporator (26) according to a first embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 6 is a drawing showing a part of a piping section (34) installed in an evaporator (26) according to an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 7 is a drawing showing a part of a piping section (34) installed in an evaporator (26) according to another embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 8 is a perspective view showing the structure of a pumping section (36) shown in FIG. 4.

[0065] Referring to FIGS. 4 and 5, the evaporator (26) may include a refrigerant pipe (262) for delivering refrigerant and a plurality of heat exchange fins (264) installed to contact the refrigerant pipe (262). Referring to FIG. 5, the refrigerant pipe (262) extends in two parallel rows when viewed from the side.

[0066] The defrosting unit (30) may include a fluid storage section (32) in which the working fluid is stored, a piping section (34) through which the working fluid flows, a pumping section (36), and a drain plate (38).

[0067] The fluid storage unit (32) can be filled with a working fluid at a constant level. The working fluid may be used alone or in combination with, for example, water, Freon-based refrigerant, ammonia, acetone, methanol, ethanol, etc. For example, as the working fluid, acetone having a freezing point of -94°C and a boiling point of 56°C, which is higher than room temperature, may be used so as not to freeze at the lowest temperature of the refrigerator (1), for example, about -30°C.

[0068] The fluid storage unit (32) may include a first opening (324) through which the working fluid exits and a second opening (326) through which the working fluid enters. The first opening (324) may be positioned lower than the second opening (326). The first opening (324) may be lower than the level of the working fluid, and the second opening (326) may be positioned higher than the level of the working fluid.

[0069] The fluid storage unit (32) can be installed at the bottom of the evaporator (26).

[0070] The fluid storage unit (32) may be installed to contact the bottom of the drain plate (38). Specifically, the fluid storage unit (32) may be installed on a first mounting unit (382) that protrudes horizontally from the inclined bottom of the drain plate (38). The fluid storage unit (32) may store a liquid working fluid, for example, at about 30 to 40°C, by exchanging heat between the gaseous working fluid heated to, for example, 56°C in the pumping unit (36) and the frost on the evaporator (26). Consequently, the fluid storage unit (32) can maintain a temperature of, for example, 30 to 40°C while the pumping unit (36) is continuously operating. Thus, the ice on the drain plate (38) can be melted by the heat transferred by the fluid storage unit (32). Of course, the temperature of the liquid working fluid that returns to and is stored in the fluid storage unit (32) may vary depending on the degree of heat exchange between the heated gaseous working fluid and the evaporator (26), for example, the length or diameter of the piping unit (34) and the ambient temperature of the evaporator (26). That is, the liquid working fluid may be lower than 30°C if there is a lot of frost or the ambient temperature of the evaporator (26) is low, and may be higher than 40°C if there is little frost and the temperature of the evaporator (26) is high. If the pumping unit (36) is not operating, the temperature of the working fluid in the fluid storage unit (32) may drop to the temperature of the installation space of the evaporator (26), for example, -30°C.

[0071] The piping section (34) may have two ends that communicate with the first opening (324) and the second opening (326) of the fluid storage section (32), respectively. The piping section (34) may have a circulation path through which working fluid can flow between the two ends.

[0072] The piping section (34) can be extended from the first opening (324) of the fluid storage section (32) through the pumping section (36) along the refrigerant pipe (262) of the evaporator (26) and connected to the second opening (326) of the fluid storage section (32).

[0073] The piping section (34) may include a first pipe (341) connecting the pumping section (36) and the first opening (324) of the fluid storage section (32), and a second pipe (342) connecting the pumping section and the second opening (326) of the fluid storage section (32).

[0074] The piping section (34) can be extended from the fluid storage section (32) and the pumping section (36) toward the evaporator (26) which is located at a higher position than the fluid storage section (32) and the pumping section (36).

[0075] The piping section (34) can be arranged more densely in the lower part of the evaporator (26) because frost forms more heavily in the lower part of the evaporator (26) than in the upper part. For example, the piping section (34) can be arranged to pass through the heat exchange fins (264) of the lower refrigerant pipe (262), for example, twice, and through the heat exchange fins (264) of the upper refrigerant pipe (262) once.

[0076] As a modified embodiment, the diameter of the piping section (34) passing through the heat exchange fin (264) of the lower refrigerant pipe (262) of the evaporator (26) may be made larger than the diameter of the piping section (34) passing through the upper heat exchange fin (264) to increase the contact area for heat exchange.

[0077] Referring to FIG. 6, the piping section (34) can be installed to contact the heat exchange fin (264) of the evaporator (26). The piping section (34) can be fitted into the open groove (2642) of the heat exchange fin (264).

[0078] Referring to FIG. 7, the piping section (34) can be fitted into the closed hole (2643) of the heat exchange fin (264).

[0079] The pumping section (36) is provided at one location in the circulation path of the piping section (34) and can vaporize the working fluid to circulate the working fluid within the circulation path.

[0080] The pumping unit (36) can be installed at the bottom of the evaporator (26).

[0081] The pumping section (36) can be installed on the circulation path of the piping section (34) that is closer to the first opening (324) than to the second opening (326) of the fluid storage section (32).

[0082] Referring to FIG. 8, the pumping unit (36) may include a heat conduction block (362), a heater (364), and first and second pipe connection units (366-1, 366-2).

[0083] The heat conduction block (362) may include a fluid passage (3622) through which the working fluid passes. The working fluid passing through the heat conduction block (362) may be vaporized by heat generated from the heater (364).

[0084] The heat conduction block (362) can be made in a cuboid or cylindrical shape.

[0085] It may include at least one of a material with good thermal conductivity, such as aluminum, copper, or iron.

[0086] The heat conduction block (362) can be installed to contact the bottom of the drain plate (38) as shown in FIG. 4. Specifically, the heat conduction block (362) can be installed on a second mounting portion (384) that protrudes horizontally from the inclined bottom of the drain plate (38). In this way, when the heat conduction block (362) is heated by the heater (364), the drain plate (38) in contact with the heat conduction block (362) can also be heated. Consequently, any ice remaining on the drain plate (38) can be melted by the heat transferred from the heat conduction block (362).

[0087] The heater (364) can generate heat when power is applied. The heater (364) can be fixed by contacting one side of the heat conduction block (362). The heater (364) can be operated according to a preset condition by the processor (50). Specifically, the processor (50) can operate the heater (364) when the temperature of the evaporator (26) detected by the temperature sensor (40) provided in the evaporator (26) reaches a threshold value.

[0088] The heater (364) can be implemented as a PTC (positive temperature coefficient) heater.

[0089] The first pipe connection part (366-1) can connect the first pipe (341) connecting the heat conduction block (362) and the first opening (324) of the fluid storage part (32). The first pipe connection part (366-1) may be made of a material with low thermal conductivity, such as silicone, rubber, or synthetic resin, which has a lower thermal conductivity than the material of the first pipe (341). At this time, the first pipe (341) may be made of a material with high thermal conductivity, such as copper, aluminum, iron, or stainless steel. In this way, the first pipe connection part (366-1) with low thermal conductivity can induce smooth contraction of the gaseous working fluid moved toward the first pipe (341) by blocking heat transfer from the heat conduction block (362), which is heated by the heater (364), to the first pipe (341).

[0090] The second pipe connection part (366-2) can connect the second pipe (342) connecting the heat conduction block (362) and the second opening (326) of the fluid storage part (32). The second pipe connection part (366-2) may be made of a material with low thermal conductivity, such as silicone, rubber, or synthetic resin, which has a lower thermal conductivity than the material of the second pipe (342). At this time, the second pipe (342) may be made of a material with high thermal conductivity, such as copper, aluminum, iron, or stainless steel. In this way, the second pipe connection part (366-2) with low thermal conductivity can induce smooth contraction of the gaseous working fluid moved to the second pipe (342) by blocking the transfer of heat from the heat conduction block (362), which is heated by the heater (364), to the second pipe (342).

[0091] Although the aforementioned pumping unit (36) has been described as being composed of a heat conduction block (362) and a heater (364), it is not limited thereto and any means capable of vaporizing the working fluid in the pipe (34) can be applied. For example, the pumping unit (36) can be implemented as a heating wire provided to surround the pipe (34).

[0092] Referring again to FIGS. 4 and 5, the drain plate (38) is positioned to cover the lower part of the evaporator (26) so as to collect the melted frost or ice pieces formed on the evaporator (26).

[0093] The drain plate (38) may include a first mounting section (382) for installing a fluid storage section (32), a second mounting section (384) for installing a pumping section (36), and a defrost water outlet (386) for discharging defrost water. The first mounting section (382) and the second mounting section (384) may be formed to protrude flatly to a predetermined height from a portion of the bottom of the drain plate (38), for example, by press forming. The defrost water discharged through the defrost water outlet (386) may be collected in a water container through a hose.

[0094] The ice in the drain plate (38) can be melted by the heat of the fluid storage unit (32) and / or the pumping unit (36).

[0095] FIG. 9 is a figure showing the expanded state of the pumping unit (36), and FIG. 10 is a figure showing the contracted state of the pumping unit (36).

[0096] Referring to FIG. 9, when the heater (364) is operated, the liquid working fluid filled in the heat conduction block (362) can be vaporized. At this time, the gaseous working fluid expands in volume and moves from the heat conduction block (362) to both sides of the first pipe (341) and the second pipe (342). At this time, the gaseous working fluid expanded to both sides can move further to the second pipe (342), which is filled with or empty of the gaseous working fluid, than to the first pipe (341), which is filled with the liquid working fluid.

[0097] Referring to FIG. 10, the gaseous working fluid expanded on both sides of the first pipe (341) and the second pipe (342) can be contracted by exchanging heat with the surrounding atmosphere of the first pipe (341) and the second pipe (342), for example, the cold air in the space where the evaporator (26) is provided and the frost formed on the heat exchange fins (262) of the evaporator (26). At this time, since the amount of gaseous working fluid moved to the second pipe (342) is greater than the amount of gaseous working fluid moved to the first pipe (341), the pressure on the second pipe (342) side can be lower than the pressure on the first pipe (341) side. Due to this difference in pressure, the liquid working fluid in the fluid storage unit (32) can move to the second pipe (342) side and fill into the heat conduction block (262).

[0098] When the expansion and contraction of the working fluid shown in FIGS. 9 and 10 are repeated, the pumping unit (36) can pump the vaporized working fluid to the second pipe (342) passing through the evaporator (26) area while repeating the vaporization and suction of the working fluid.

[0099] The operating principle of the defrosting unit (30) is explained in detail below.

[0100] FIG. 11 is a diagram showing the schematic configuration of a defrosting unit (30) according to a first embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 12 is a flowchart showing a defrosting operation according to an embodiment of the present invention.

[0101] In step S11, when the processor (50) starts the defrosting operation, power is applied to the heater (364) of the pumping unit (36).

[0102] In step S12, the heat generated from the heater (364) is conducted to the heat conduction block (362).

[0103] In step S13, when the heat conduction block (362) is heated to the boiling point of the working fluid, for example, acetone, for example, 56°C, the working fluid in the piping section (34) passing through the heat conduction block (362) can be vaporized from a liquid to a gaseous state by a phase change.

[0104] In step S14, the working fluid in a gaseous state can expand into the first pipe (341) and the second pipe (342) on both sides of the heat conduction block (362) due to the density difference as shown in FIG. 9.

[0105] In step S15, the gaseous working fluid expanded into the first pipe (341) and the second pipe (342) can be contracted by blocking heat transfer through the first and second pipe connection parts (366-1, 366-2) made of a low thermal conductivity material and releasing heat from the outside.

[0106] In step S16, as the gaseous working fluid transferred to the first and second pipe connection parts (366-1, 366-2) contracts, the liquid working fluid in the fluid storage part (32) can move toward the second pipe (342) with lower pressure, as shown in FIG. 10, and be filled into the heat conduction block (36).

[0107] In step S17, the pumping of vaporization, expansion, contraction, and suction shown in steps S13 to S16 can be repeated.

[0108] The pumped working fluid in a gaseous state is transferred to the piping section (34) in the evaporator (26) area to transfer heat to the frost formed on the evaporator (36) and melt it.

[0109] In step S18, the processor (50) checks a preset defrost end condition, such as the defrost time or the temperature of the heat exchange fins (264) of the evaporator. If the defrost end condition is not satisfied, power is continuously supplied to the heater (364).

[0110] In step S19, if the defrosting end condition is satisfied, power supply to the heater (364) is stopped.

[0111] As described above, the defrosting unit (30) according to the first embodiment of the present invention can perform pumping of the working fluid by pushing the working fluid in a high-temperature gaseous state toward the frost formed on the evaporator (26) to transfer heat, and then moving it to the second opening (326) of the fluid storage unit (32), while pulling the working fluid in a liquid state of the fluid storage unit (32) toward the pumping unit (36) through the first opening (324).

[0112] The defrosting unit (30) according to the first embodiment of the present invention supplies the working fluid in a liquid state to the pumping unit (36), pumps it toward the evaporator (26) in a gaseous state, and performs unidirectional circulation pumping in which it contracts in the evaporator (26) and returns to the fluid storage unit (32) in a liquid state, thereby enabling efficient pumping of the working fluid and, accordingly, increasing the defrosting efficiency.

[0113] In addition, by installing the fluid storage unit (32) and the pumping unit (36) in contact with the drain plate (38), the ice inside the drain plate (38) can also be melted during defrosting operation.

[0114] FIG. 13 is a perspective view showing a pumping unit (66) according to a second embodiment of the present invention.

[0115] Referring to FIG. 13, the pumping unit (66) may include a heat conduction block (662) and a heater (664).

[0116] Unlike the pumping unit (36) according to the first embodiment shown in FIG. 8, the pumping unit (66) according to the second embodiment omits the first and second pipe connection units (366-1, 366-2) and the first pipe (341) and the second pipe (342) can be directly connected to the heat conduction block (662).

[0117] As a modified embodiment, one of the first pipe (341) and the second pipe (342) may be directly connected to the heat conduction block (662), and the other may be connected through a pipe connection part.

[0118] FIG. 14 is a drawing of a defrosting unit (30) installed in an evaporator (26) according to the third embodiment of the present invention.

[0119] Referring to FIG. 14, the defrosting unit (30) may include a fluid storage section (62) in which the working fluid is stored, a piping section (34) through which the working fluid flows, a pumping section (36), and a drain plate (68).

[0120] The fluid storage unit (62) may include an inclined second bottom portion (628) that contacts the inclined first bottom portion (681) of the drain plate (68). Consequently, the fluid storage unit (62) can be mounted vertically without tilting onto the inclined first bottom portion (681) of the drain plate (68).

[0121] The first pipe (341) of the piping section (34) can be extended parallel to the inclined first bottom section (681) of the drain plate (68).

[0122] The pumping part (36) can be mounted at an angle on the inclined first bottom part (681) of the drain plate (68).

[0123] In this way, the drain plate (68) of the defrosting unit (30) according to the third embodiment may omit the first mounting part (382) for installing the fluid storage part (32) and the second mounting part (384) for installing the pumping part (36), unlike the drain plate (38) shown in FIG. 4.

[0124] FIG. 15 is a drawing of a defrosting unit (30) installed in an evaporator (26) according to the fourth embodiment of the present invention.

[0125] Referring to FIG. 15, the defrosting unit (30) may include a fluid storage section (72) in which the working fluid is stored, a piping section (34) through which the working fluid flows, a pumping section (36), and a drain plate (78).

[0126] The fluid storage unit (72) can be mounted at an angle on the inclined first bottom portion (881) of the drain plate (88).

[0127] Likewise, the pumping part (36) can be mounted at an angle on the inclined first bottom part (881) of the drain plate (88).

[0128] FIG. 16 is a drawing showing the configuration of a defrosting unit (30) according to the fifth embodiment of the present invention. Hereinafter, the description of a configuration identical or similar to the first embodiment shown in FIG. 11 is omitted.

[0138] As described above, the defrosting unit (30) of the fifth embodiment can circulate the working fluid through a plurality of circulation paths, thereby shortening the overall length of the path or arranging the piping sections (34-1, 34-2) more densely in the evaporator (26), so as to improve defrosting efficiency.

[0139] FIG. 17 is a drawing showing the configuration of a defrosting unit (30) according to the 6th embodiment of the present invention.

[0140] Referring to FIG. 17, the defrosting unit (30) may include first and second fluid storage sections (32-1, 32-2) in which working fluid is stored, first and second piping sections (34-1, 34-2) through which working fluid flows, and first and second pumping sections (36-1, 36-2).
