For example, the designated function may be a function of a designated application that displays an execution screen on the entire designated page (e.g., the highest priority page) among a plurality of pages on the home screen. Below, the processor (330) is described as an example of recognizing (or identifying) the characteristics of the external electronic device by analyzing information related to the external electronic device included in the backup data. In various embodiments, the processor (330) may recognize various information related to the external electronic device using the backup data in addition to the examples described below.

[0052] For example, the processor (330) can identify an application that performs the message transmission and reception function of an external electronic device based on backup data. For example, the processor (330) can identify where an icon corresponding to the identified application that performs the message transmission and reception function is located on the screen layout of the external electronic device.

[0053] For example, the processor (330) can identify an application that performs the call function of an external electronic device. For example, the processor (330) can identify where an icon corresponding to the identified application that performs the call function of the external electronic device is located on the screen layout of the external electronic device.

[0054] For example, the processor (330) can recognize a screen layout (or the location of an icon constituting the screen layout displayed on the first display) that is exposed to the outside when the external electronic device is in a folded state, if the external electronic device corresponds to a foldable electronic device. The processor (330) can recognize a screen layout (or the location of an icon constituting the screen layout displayed on the second display) that is exposed to the outside when the external electronic device is in an unfolded state.

[0055] For example, the processor (330) can identify whether there is a designated application and whether the designated application is set to display an execution screen on the highest priority page among the multiple pages, when the external electronic device includes multiple pages displayed on the home screen.

[0056] According to one embodiment, the processor (330) can identify characteristics of the electronic device (301) based on backup data. In one embodiment, the processor (330) can identify a default application that performs a specified function (e.g., message sending / receiving function or call function) and / or whether the specified function is supported. For example, the specified function may be a function of a specified application that displays an execution screen across a specified page (e.g., the highest priority page) among a plurality of pages of the home screen. For example, the processor (330) can recognize characteristics of the electronic device (301) corresponding to backup data received from an external electronic device.

[0057] For example, the processor (330) can identify an application that performs a message transmission and reception function of an electronic device (301) corresponding to an application that performs a message transmission and reception function of an external electronic device identified based on backup data.

[0058] For example, the processor (330) can identify an application that performs a call function of an electronic device (301) corresponding to an application that performs a call function of an external electronic device identified based on backup data.

[0059] For example, the processor (330) can identify a designated application that is configured to display an execution screen on a designated page (e.g., the highest priority page) among a plurality of pages displayed on the home screen of the electronic device (301).

[0060] According to one embodiment, the processor (330) may change (or modify, process) at least a portion of the backup data based on the characteristics of the recognized electronic device (301). According to one embodiment, the processor (330) may change at least a portion of the backup data based on the characteristics of the electronic device (301) and display the result of performing a restoration operation on the display (310).

[0061] In one embodiment, the application performing a designated function of an external electronic device (e.g., message sending / receiving function or call function) and the application performing the designated function of the electronic device (301) may be different. For example, the message sending / receiving function of the external electronic device may be performed by a first application, and the message sending / receiving function of the electronic device (301) may be performed by a second application. The processor (330) may modify at least a portion of the backup data to configure a screen layout identical or similar to the screen layout of the external electronic device and to display it in the location of the icon of the first application by replacing it with the icon of the second application.

[0062] In one embodiment, the external electronic device may not have a designated application configured to display an execution screen across a designated page (e.g., the highest priority page) among a plurality of pages of the home screen, or the designated application may be disabled. In another example, a first designated application configured to display an execution screen across a designated page (e.g., the highest priority page) of the external electronic device's home screen and a second designated application configured to display an execution screen across a designated page of the electronic device's home screen may be different from each other. For example, the application configured to display an execution screen across a designated page of the external electronic device may correspond to a third application, and the application configured to display an execution screen across a designated page of the electronic device's home screen may correspond to a fourth application. In one embodiment, the processor (330) may modify at least a portion of the backup data to display an execution screen of a fourth application on a designated page of the electronic device's home screen, replacing the execution screen of a third application.

[0063] According to one embodiment, the processor (330) may perform a restoration operation based on at least some modified backup data. For example, the processor (330) may configure a screen layout so that, when performing a restoration operation after backing up data of an external electronic device, the user of the electronic device (301) can easily recognize an application determined based on the characteristics of the electronic device (301). For example, when performing a restoration operation after backing up data of an external electronic device, the processor (330) may configure a screen layout so that, by displaying an execution screen of an application (e.g., a fourth application) determined based on the characteristics of the electronic device (301) on the designated page, the user of the electronic device (301) can easily recognize the execution screen of the application. In various embodiments, the processor (330) may configure and display a screen layout based on the characteristics of the electronic device (301) when performing a restoration operation after backing up data, thereby providing the user with a new user experience according to the characteristics of the electronic device (301). [0100] According to one embodiment, the external electronic device may have a third application and a fourth application installed that perform message transmission and reception functions. Referring to the first screen (541), the application drawer screen of the external electronic device may be configured such that a first icon (543) representing the third application is located at a designated first location (544), and a second icon (545) representing the fourth application is located at a designated second location (546) (or displayed). In one embodiment, the first icon (543) may be located at the first location (544) corresponding to the first location information. For example, the first location information may include coordinate values along a first axis (e.g., x-axis) and a second axis (e.g., y-axis) substantially perpendicular to the first axis. In one embodiment, the second icon (545) may be located at the second location (546) corresponding to the second location information. For example, the second position information may include coordinate values along a first axis (e.g., x-axis) and a second axis (e.g., y-axis) substantially perpendicular to the first axis.

[0101] According to one embodiment, the electronic device can determine the priority of a third application and a fourth application based on backup data received from an external electronic device. According to one embodiment, the electronic device can determine the priority based on the position of the application icon. In one embodiment, the electronic device can determine that the application has the highest priority when the application icon is located in an area that permanently displays icons on the home screen (e.g., the area that permanently displays icons (430) in FIG. 4a). In one embodiment, the electronic device can determine that the application has an intermediate priority when the application icon is located on a page of the home screen or the application drawer screen. For example, if the home screen or the application drawer screen includes multiple pages, the electronic device can determine that the application located on the earlier page has a higher priority. For example, the electronic device can determine that the application located closer to the top left on the same page has a higher priority. In one embodiment, the electronic device can recognize that among multiple different pages, the application located on the earlier page has a higher priority. The electronic device can determine that applications located in higher rows on the same page have higher priority, and that applications located in left columns within the same row have higher priority. For example, as illustrated in FIG. 4b, the electronic device can recognize the priority of an application located in the upper left (4411) as having the highest priority. Next, the electronic device can recognize the priority of applications to correspond to a sequential order (4411, 4412, 4413, 4414, ..., 4432) according to the order in which they are installed on the electronic device, starting from the upper left (4411).In one embodiment, the electronic device may determine that an application included in a folder on the home screen or the application drawer screen has the lowest priority.

[0102] According to one embodiment, the electronic device can determine the priority of the first icon (543) of the third application located at the first position (544) and the second icon (545) of the fourth application located at the second position (546) based on backup data. In one embodiment, since the first position (544) of the first icon (543) is closer to the top left than the second position (546) of the second icon (545), the electronic device can recognize that the priority of the third application corresponding to the first icon (543) is relatively high. For example, since the first position (544) of the first icon (543) is located in a column closer to the left than the second position (546) of the second icon (545) in the same row, the electronic device can recognize that the priority of the third application corresponding to the first icon (543) is relatively high.

[0103] According to one embodiment, the electronic device receives backup data corresponding to the first screen (541) from an external electronic device and can change at least a portion of the backup data based on the characteristics of the electronic device. According to one embodiment, the electronic device may be in a state where the fourth application is set as the default application among the third application and the fourth application that perform message transmission and reception functions.

[0104] According to one embodiment, the electronic device may modify at least some of the backup data received from an external electronic device so that the user can easily recognize a fourth application set as the default application of the electronic device. According to one embodiment, the electronic device may modify at least some of the information related to a screen layout corresponding to a first screen (541) to generate information related to a screen layout (e.g., second data) corresponding to a second screen (5421, ..., 542n) having multiple pages. The electronic device may perform a restoration operation using the generated information related to a screen layout corresponding to a second screen (5421, ..., 542n) having multiple pages.

[0105] According to one embodiment, the electronic device may configure a screen layout that displays an application icon corresponding to the characteristics of the electronic device by modifying at least some of the backup data received from an external electronic device. According to one embodiment, the electronic device may display a second icon (545) of a fourth application at a designated location (547) having the same location information as the location information representing a first location (544) where the icon of a third application recognized as having high priority is located. For example, the coordinate values included in the location information of the first location (544) (e.g., coordinate values according to the xy coordinate system) and the coordinate values included in the location information of the designated location (547) may be identical or substantially identical to each other. According to one embodiment, the electronic device may modify at least some of the backup data received from an external electronic device so that the first icon (543) of the third application is located (or displayed) at a designated location (548) on the last page of a second screen (5421, ..., 542n) having a plurality of pages.

[0106] Although not illustrated in FIG. 5d, in various embodiments, the information that serves as a criterion for the electronic device to determine the priority of an application may be two or more pieces of information. For example, when determining the priority of an application, the electronic device may use together information regarding whether an icon is displayed in a designated area on the home screen (e.g., the fixed area (430) of FIG. 4a) and information regarding the position of the icon on the application drawer screen. In one embodiment, the second icon (545) of the fourth application may be located in a column to the right of the first icon (543) of the third application on the first screen (541) and may be additionally located in the fixed area on the home screen (e.g., the fixed area (430) of FIG. 4a). If based solely on the display position on the application drawer screen, the third application may have a relatively higher priority, but the electronic device may recognize that the priority of the fourth application is higher than the priority of the third application based on information indicating that the second icon (545) of the fourth application is located in an area that permanently displays icons on the home screen (e.g., the area that permanently displays icons (430) of FIG. 4a). In this case, the electronic device may configure a screen layout that displays the application icons to correspond to the characteristics of the electronic device by modifying at least some of the backup data received from an external electronic device. The electronic device may perform a restoration operation so that the icon of the fourth application (e.g., the second icon (545)), which is the basic application performing the message function of the electronic device, is displayed at a location having the same location information as the location information indicating the second position (546) of the second icon (545) of the fourth application.
