Description

Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a suction cone that is detachably installed integrally at the suction port of a submersible pump to ensure stable operation of the submersible pump by removing foreign substances such as hair and cloth pieces that enter, a submersible pump including the same, a method for manufacturing the same, and a method for using the same. Background Technology

[0003] A pump is a general term for a machine that transports fluid through a pipe by means of pressure, or pumps fluid from a low-pressure container through a pipe into a high-pressure container. Among such pumps, a submersible pump refers to a pump in which the pump and the electric motor for driving it are integrated and can be submerged in water to pump water.

[0004] Figure 1 is a drawing showing foreign matter caught in the suction port or suction inlet of a conventional submersible pump, and Figure 2 is a drawing showing foreign matter caught in the impeller of a conventional submersible pump.

[0005] Typically, in environments where submersible pumps are installed and used, there are many foreign substances (F) such as hair, thread, fabric scraps, and mud in the water. These foreign substances can accumulate in the suction port (10) of the submersible pump and block the suction port (10) as shown in the drawing. Alternatively, they may pass through the suction port (10) and get wrapped around the shaft of the fan (11) inside the submersible pump, preventing the fan (11) from rotating. If the fan (11) is wrapped in foreign substances and fails to operate properly, it will operate under a significant load, which may cause a malfunction due to overheating of the submersible pump. For reference, the fan (11) may also be referred to as an impeller.

[0006] Drawing 3 is a drawing showing a conventional screen or strainer installed at the suction port of a submersible pump.

[0007] As previously discussed, in order to prevent foreign substances (F), such as pieces of cloth or hair, from wrapping around the shaft of the fan (11) of the submersible pump and making rotation impossible, a screen (12) or strainer is installed at the front of the suction port (10) of the submersible pump to filter out the foreign substances (F) in advance. While installing the screen (12) or similar device can prevent the shaft of the fan (11) from being wrapped around by foreign substances (F), such as pieces of cloth or thread, as the submersible pump operates, the foreign substances (F) gradually accumulate densely on the screen (12), preventing the fluid itself from being properly supplied into the interior of the submersible pump. As a result, the submersible pump is unable to properly perform the function of pumping fluid, or the motor, etc., is damaged due to overheating.

Effects of the invention

[0051] The suction cone according to the present invention, the submersible pump including the same, the method of manufacturing the same, and the method of using the same have the following effects.

[0052] First, it has the effect of preventing relatively large foreign substances, such as hair and thread, from accumulating on the impeller and interfering with the operation of the submersible pump without reducing the suction capacity of the pump. In particular, the protrusions formed by the punching method are equipped with sharp blades, allowing for more effective removal of hair, thread, etc.

[0053] Second, since it filters out only thin, long, and somewhat large foreign substances such as hair and threads that can affect the operation of the submersible pump, it has the effect of extending the cleaning cycle compared to the conventional removal method using a screen.

[0054] Third, the suction cone is detachable, allowing for easy removal of foreign matter caught on the protrusions after the submersible pump is recovered. In particular, according to an embodiment in which the protrusions are formed using screws, foreign matter can be easily removed by unscrewing the screws, thereby simplifying maintenance. [0060] Drawing 4 is a drawing showing the overall appearance of a submersible pump with a suction cone installed according to the present invention, Drawing 5 is a drawing showing only the suction cone part of Drawing 4 in enlarged view, and Drawing 6 is a drawing showing foreign matter caught on the protrusion of the suction cone.

[0061] The suction cone (1000) according to the present invention is integrally installed in a detachably manner at the suction port of a submersible pump (20) and performs the function of filtering out foreign substances such as hair and thread from the fluid sucked in according to the operation of the submersible pump (20). To this end, one or more protrusions are formed on the conical plate (100) of the suction cone (1000). More specifically, as the impeller of the submersible pump (20) rotates, the fluid (W) passes through the suction cone (1000) and is sucked into the submersible pump (20) and discharged to the outside, and this fluid (W) contains various foreign substances (F). That is, various foreign substances (F), such as fabric scraps, hair, and thread, ranging from fine sand, mud particles, and gravel, are sucked in together with the fluid (W). Among these, small particles such as sand and mud are easily discharged to the outside even if sucked into the interior of the underwater pump (20), so they do not have a significant effect on the operation of the underwater pump (20), but foreign substances (F) such as hair, pieces of cloth, and threads are sucked into the interior of the underwater pump (20) and may get wrapped around the shaft of the impeller, etc., and prevent the underwater pump (20) from operating properly.

[0062] However, as previously observed, the method of removing foreign substances (F) using a screen (12) or the like tended to cause strain on the operation of the submersible pump (20) because, over time, even small particles such as mud and sand would accumulate on the screen (12), preventing proper suction of the fluid (W). However, the suction cone (1000) according to the present invention does not filter out all foreign substances (F), but rather uses a protrusion (110) to catch only thin, long, and somewhat large foreign substances (F), such as hair and thread, which can affect the rotation of the impeller as shown in Drawing 6. This ensures smooth suction of the fluid (W) into the submersible pump (20) while removing only the foreign substances (F) that can affect the operation. As a result, the maintenance cycle of the submersible pump (20) for removing foreign substances (F) can be extended compared to the conventional method of installing a screen (12).

[0063] Drawing 7 is a drawing showing the overall appearance of the suction cone according to the present invention, and Drawing 8 is a drawing showing an enlarged view of the 'A1' portion of Drawing 7.

[0064] The suction cone (1000) according to the present invention, which is installed and used at the front end of the suction port of a submersible pump (20), may be configured to include a conical plate (100) having one or more protrusions (200) and a mounting portion (200) that accommodates the conical plate (100) inside. The protrusions (110) formed on the conical plate (100) perform the function of removing long and thin foreign substances (F), such as threads or hair, as previously described, and may be formed through a compression or casting process. Additionally, the mounting portion (200) may perform the function of detachably fixing the suction cone (1000) according to the present invention to the suction port of the submersible pump (20). For reference, these protrusions (110) may be formed through a separate process after the conical plate (100) is prepared, but they may also be formed simultaneously during the process of manufacturing the conical plate (100) through a compression or casting process. Alternatively, the protrusions (110) can also be formed through punching, which will be examined again through the drawings below.

[0065] One or more protrusions (110) formed on the conical plate (100) constituting the suction cone (1000) may be formed with a height (BH) suitable for removing foreign substances (F), such as threads or hair, and as an optimal example, may be selected from 0.05 to 0.1 times the height (CH) of the suction cone (1000). Through this configuration, the present invention allows small foreign substances to pass through the submersible pump (20) as is, while removing only foreign substances (F), such as hair, that may affect the rotation of the impeller of the submersible pump (20), thereby ensuring the operational capability of the submersible pump (20).

[0066] Figure 9 is a drawing showing a top view of a suction cone according to a first embodiment of the present invention, and Figure 10 is a drawing showing a top view of a suction cone according to a second embodiment of the present invention.

[0067] The protrusions (110) arranged on the conical plate (100) can be arranged in various shapes, and Drawing 9 is a drawing showing an example of such a configuration in which the protrusions (110) are formed to spread radially from the center of the conical plate (100). Compared to the first embodiment, the second embodiment shows a configuration in which more protrusions (110) are formed, and through the protrusions (110) formed in this way, the present invention can effectively remove foreign substances (F), such as hair and thread, from the fluid (W) being sucked in. For reference, the upper plate (210) of the mounting part (200) may have a hole-type connecting member (211) formed therein, which is used when installing the suction cone (1000) on the underwater pump (20), and the suction cone (1000) according to the present invention can be mounted on the underwater pump (20) by inserting a bolt therein, etc. However, the shape of the connecting member (211) is not limited to just one and can be modified into an appropriate shape as needed.

[0068] Figure 11 is a drawing showing a top view of a suction cone according to a third embodiment of the present invention, and Figure 12 is a drawing showing a top view of a suction cone according to a fourth embodiment of the present invention.

[0069] The protrusions (110) formed on the conical plate (100) may be arranged in a spiral shape. By arranging the protrusions (110) in a spiral shape, foreign substances (F) can be removed without obstructing the flow of fluid (W) sucked into the submersible pump (20). The spiral arrangement may be arranged in a clockwise direction as shown in Figure 11 or in a counterclockwise direction as shown in Figure 12, and this can be selected according to the rotational direction of the fluid (W) generated by the rotation of the impeller of the submersible pump (20). That is, it can be selected in a direction that does not obstruct the rotational direction of the fluid (W). Through this, the present invention ensures smoother suction of the fluid (W) into the submersible pump (20), while effectively removing foreign substances (F) that may affect operation, such as threads, pieces of cloth, and hair.

[0070] Figure 13 is a drawing showing the appearance of a protrusion of a suction cone formed by a different method, and Figure 14 is a drawing showing the method of forming the protrusion of Figure 13 in more detail.

[0071] The protrusion (110) formed on the conical plate (100) constituting the present invention may be formed through a pressing or casting process using a press, but alternatively, it may also be formed by joining screws (111) to grooves (112) formed on the conical plate (100). More specifically, one or more grooves (112) may be formed on the conical plate (100) through a pressing or casting process, and a screw (111) may be inserted therein to form the protrusion (110). Additionally, corresponding screw threads may be formed on the groove (112) and the screw (111). For reference, one or more grooves (112) may be formed through a separate process after the conical plate (100) is manufactured, but they may also be formed simultaneously during the process of manufacturing the conical plate (100) through a pressing or casting process.

[0072] In this case, when the protrusion (110) is formed using a screw (111), foreign matter (F) caught in the recovered suction cone (1000) can be removed by unscrewing the screw (111), thus making maintenance more convenient.

[0073] Figure 15 is a drawing showing the appearance of a protrusion of a suction cone formed by another method, and Figure 16 is a drawing showing the appearance of a protrusion of a suction cone created by another method as viewed from above.

[0074] The protrusion (110) formed on the conical plate (100) constituting the suction cone (1000) according to the present invention can also be formed through punching. For example, the conical plate (100) can be pierced with a metal punching machine or the like to form a protrusion such as a steel plate. In addition, such a protrusion (110) may be formed through a separate process after the conical plate (100) is manufactured, but it may also be formed simultaneously during the process of forming the conical plate (100) by compression using a press or the like.

[0075] The protrusion (110) formed in this way is equipped with a sharp edge, so it can more effectively remove thin and long foreign substances (F) such as threads and hair. In addition, since the protrusion (110) is formed simply by punching rather than through a complex casting process, it has the effect of lowering the manufacturing cost.

[0076] Drawing 17 is a drawing showing the appearance of a mounting part constituting a suction cone according to the present invention.

[0077] The mounting portion (200) constituting the suction cone (1000) according to the present invention serves to accommodate a conical plate (100) having one or more protrusions (110) formed thereon, and at the same time, serves to ensure that the conical plate (100) is detachably fixed to the suction port of the underwater pump (20). To this end, the mounting portion (200) may include an upper plate (210) having one or more connecting members (211), a lower plate (220) connected to the lower end of the conical plate (100) to fix the conical plate (100), and one or more pillars (230) connecting the upper plate (210) and the lower plate (220). The side of the mounting portion (200) is open so as not to obstruct the flow of the suctioned fluid (W), and the open area (SO) may be 80% or more and 95% or less of the side area.

[0078] The present invention allows the suction cone (1000) to be easily and detachably fixed to the suction port of the underwater pump (20) by using such a mounting part (200).

[0079] Drawing 18 is a drawing showing an enlarged view of the suction port portion of a submersible pump equipped with a suction cone according to the present invention.

[0080] The width (CW) of the suction cone (1000) according to the present invention may be formed to be the same width as the width of the suction port of the submersible pump (20) to which it is mounted. Also, the height (CH) of the suction cone (1000) may be 0.1 to 0.25 times the width of the suction port of the submersible pump (20). By manufacturing the suction cone (1000) with such a size, it is easy to attach and detach it from the submersible pump (20), and at the same time, the flow of fluid (W) resulting from the operation of the submersible pump (20) is not obstructed, and only thin and long foreign substances (F), such as threads and hair, contained therein can be effectively filtered out.

[0081] Figure 19 is a flowchart showing a method for manufacturing a suction cone according to the present invention.

[0082] A method for manufacturing and producing a suction cone (1000) according to the present invention may be achieved by forming a conical plate (100) having one or more protrusions (110) (S1-1) and receiving the conical plate (100) inside a mounting portion (200) (S1-2). Here, the protrusions (110) may be formed through a separate process after the conical plate (100) is manufactured, but they may also be formed simultaneously during the compression or casting process in which the conical plate (100) is manufactured. For reference, they may also be formed using punching.

[0083] The present invention can achieve the effect of allowing foreign substances (F) that can be sucked in and discharged to the outside by the submersible pump (20) to be discharged as is, and removing only foreign substances (F) that may cause problems with the rotation of the impeller, such as hair, thread, and pieces of cloth, through a suction cone (1000) manufactured in this manner.

[0084] Figure 20 is a flowchart showing another method of forming a protrusion of a suction cone according to the present invention.

[0085] The protrusion (110) formed on the conical plate (100) may be formed using a screw (111) or a bolt instead of a compression or casting process. In this way, the protrusion (110) may be formed by forming one or more grooves (112) on the conical plate (100) through a compression or casting process (S2-1) and inserting a screw (111) into them (S2-2). For reference, the groove (112) and the screw (111) may have corresponding threads formed therein for screw connection.

[0086] In this case, when a protrusion is formed using a screw (111), foreign matter (F) caught in the conical plate (100) can be removed by unscrewing the screw (111) and removing it, thus making maintenance easier.

[0087] Drawing 21 is a flowchart showing a method of using a submersible pump equipped with a suction cone according to the present invention.

[0088] A method for using a submersible pump (20) equipped with a suction cone (1000) according to the present invention may first be performed by mounting the suction cone (1000) to the suction port of the submersible pump (20) using a connecting member (211) of a mounting part (200) (S3-1). Then, a process of installing the submersible pump (20) at a desired location may be performed (S3-2). Here, the connecting member (211) may be provided in the form of a hole in the upper plate (210) of the mounting part (200), and the suction cone (1000) may be mounted to the submersible pump (20) by inserting and using a bolt or nut therein.

[0089] When the time comes for maintenance after using the submersible pump (20) installed in this way, the submersible pump (20) is lifted and retrieved (S3-3), and the suction cone (1000) is removed from the suction port of the retrieved submersible pump (20) (S3-4) to remove foreign matter (F) (S3-5). As previously described, since the suction cone (1000) according to the present invention is installed in a detachable manner, foreign matter (F) filtered by the protrusion (110) of the conical plate (100) can be easily removed. After removing the foreign matter (F), it can be reattached to the suction port of the submersible pump (20) and reinstalled in its original position, thus making maintenance more convenient. In addition, since it does not filter out foreign matter (F) such as sand and mud excessively like a screen (12), there is also the advantage of extending the maintenance period.

[0090] As described above, although the present invention has been explained with reference to preferred embodiments, those skilled in the art will understand that various modifications and changes can be made to the present invention without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as described in the following claims.
