Description

Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a fire suppression system, and more specifically, to an agricultural battery fire suppression system capable of storing an agricultural battery inside a case and supplying water into the case to suppress a fire in the event of a fire in the agricultural battery. Background Technology

[0002] With the increasing technological development and demand for mobile devices such as smartphones, laptops, and digital cameras, technologies related to rechargeable secondary batteries are becoming more active. Furthermore, secondary batteries serve as an alternative energy source to fossil fuels that cause air pollutants and are being applied to electric vehicles (EVs), hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (P-HEVs), and energy storage systems (ESS).

[0003] Currently, widely used types of rechargeable batteries include lithium-ion batteries, lithium-polymer batteries, nickel-cadmium batteries, nickel-hydrogen batteries, and nickel-zinc batteries.

[0004] The operating voltage of these unit secondary battery cells, that is, unit battery cells, is approximately 2.0V to 5.0V. Therefore, if a higher output voltage is required, multiple battery cells may be connected in series to form a cell module assembly, and cell module assemblies may also be connected in series or parallel to form a battery module depending on the required output voltage or charge / discharge capacity. Furthermore, it is common to manufacture a battery pack by adding additional components using at least one of these battery modules.

[0005] Meanwhile, in the case of battery modules, there is a risk that the stability and efficiency of battery cells may deteriorate due to the heat generated during charging and discharging, and various methods are being applied to cool the battery modules to prevent this.

[0006] For example, an air-cooling system using cooling gas can be used, in which case it is common to be equipped with devices such as cooling fans.

[0007] When using the aforementioned cooling fan, it fails to perform its function in the event of a fire, so an alternative solution to improve this is required.

[0008] The aforementioned technical configuration is provided as background technology to aid in understanding the present invention and does not constitute prior art widely known in the technical field to which the present invention belongs. Prior art literature

[0015] The battery case further comprises at least one of a plurality of side water sprayers provided at each corner of the battery case to spray water into the battery portion in case of fire; a perforation portion coupled to the battery case to create a hole in the battery portion in case of fire to allow water to flow into the interior of the battery portion; a heating portion provided inside the battery case; and a water tank provided on the upper part of the battery case, wherein the perforation portion includes a perforation body coupled to the battery case; a perforation motor provided on the perforation body; and a perforation drill connected to the perforation motor to create a hole in the battery portion in case of fire, and the battery portion may include a battery stack. Effects of the invention

[0016] Embodiments of the present invention store an agricultural battery inside a case and, in the event of a fire in the agricultural battery, supply water into the case to extinguish the fire.

[0017] In addition, the battery cells can be stacked in multiple layers by the stacked water spray unit, and in the event of a fire, water can be sprayed onto each battery cell to suppress the fire.

[0061] The agricultural battery fire suppression system (1b) according to the present embodiment differs from the previously described embodiment in that it further comprises the aforementioned perforation (700) as shown in FIG. 7.

[0062] As described above, the present embodiment stores an agricultural battery inside a case and can extinguish a fire by supplying water into the case in the event of a fire in the agricultural battery. Additionally, multiple battery cells can be stacked using a stacked water spray unit, and a fire can be extinguished by spraying water onto each battery cell in the event of a fire. Furthermore, if it is difficult to extinguish a fire with water, a hole is made in the battery unit through a perforation unit to allow water to flow into the battery unit, thereby avoiding the worst-case fire situation.

[0063] As such, it is obvious to those skilled in the art that the present invention is not limited to the described embodiments and can be modified and varied in various ways without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Accordingly, such modified or varied embodiments should be deemed to fall within the scope of the claims of the present invention. Explanation of the symbols
