Abstract

An embodiment discloses a lithium secondary battery and a method for manufacturing the same, comprising: a cell including a first electrode, a second electrode, and a separator interposed between the first electrode and the second electrode; an extension portion extending from the separator and formed to surround the outer surface of the cell; and an adhesive portion formed between the outer surface of the separator and the inner surface of the end portion of the extension portion, wherein the adhesive portion comprises a polymer or monomer; and a silicon-based compound, wherein the silicon-based compound comprises at least one from the group consisting of dimethylsilicon oil, methylphenylsiloxane, diphenylsiloxane, diphenyldimethylsiloxane copolymer, or methylhydrogen silicone oil.
