Description

Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a solar heat pump fusion system and a design method using a design platform thereof, and more specifically, to a system in which a solar heat collection device and a heat pump system are fused and a design method thereof. Background Technology

[0003] Currently, more than 60% of the nation's total energy consumption is ultimately consumed in the form of thermal energy. This largely consists of fossil fuel consumption. However, to address climate change, there is a need to reduce fossil fuel-based energy consumption at the national level.

[0004] Solar thermal energy is a representative eco-friendly thermal energy source that can replace fossil fuels. However, while solar thermal energy utilizes solar collectors to heat water for heating or hot water supply, there are drawbacks, such as the limited capacity of thermal storage tanks and the inability to use heating or hot water during prolonged cloudy weather.

[0005] In addition, increasing the size of solar collectors and solar thermal storage tanks leads to increased installation area and manufacturing costs, resulting in reduced economic feasibility.

[0006] Accordingly, economic efficiency is also sought by utilizing a system that combines a solar collector and a solar thermal storage tank, or by using a fusion system that additionally combines other heat sources with the solar collector or solar thermal storage tank.

[0007] However, even these fusion systems have limited use due to their lower economic efficiency and reliability compared to conventional boilers. Additionally, most existing fusion systems supply hot water below 70°C, so they do not supply high-temperature water or steam above 80°C. Consequently, fusion systems for industrial processes that utilize large amounts of such high-temperature water and steam are not widely adopted.

[0008] Accordingly, there is a growing need to supply the high-temperature heat required for industrial processes more economically than existing heat supply facilities by combining a heat pump with a solar thermal system to enhance the reliability of heat supply, and by optimizing the design and operating the system in conjunction with existing heat supply facilities to improve economic efficiency.

[0009] Meanwhile, design optimization of the integrated system is necessary to develop a more economical system than conventional boilers. Generally, there are numerous considerations for heat supply facilities in industrial processes. For instance, environmental conditions vary from site to site, including the type of existing heat supply equipment (gas boiler, electric boiler, heat pump, geothermal heat pump, etc.), the presence and specifications of waste heat, required heat quantity, required temperature, required pressure, type of fluid (hot water, steam), solar radiation, ambient temperature, available site area and shape, distance from the heat load source, and heat load hour distribution.

[0010] Furthermore, there are numerous design variables, including the type and capacity of solar collectors, the capacity of thermal storage tanks, the type and capacity of heat pumps, and whether or not they are integrated with existing heat supply facilities. The design process for optimization, which considers these many environmental and design variables, must undergo an iterative cycle ranging from conceptual design to basic design, performance simulation, and analysis. However, since the aforementioned environmental variables vary not only from site to site but also differ over time within the same site, there is a problem in that the design deviates from the optimal point and must be repeated every time. This repetitive design leads to increased time and costs, which has been a key cause of reduced economic viability of the overall integrated system and a loss of competitiveness.

[0011] To address this, it is necessary to develop a design platform for a convergence system that can perform the optimal design of the convergence system in a short period of time by considering all of the aforementioned environmental and design variables. The problem to be solved

[0056] In addition, the present invention provides a design method using a design platform for a solar heat pump fusion system (1000).

[0057] Hereinafter, with reference to FIGS. 5 to 11, a design method using the design platform of the solar heat pump fusion system (1000) of the present invention will be described.

[0058] FIG. 5 shows a flowchart of a design method using a design platform of a solar heat pump fusion system (1000) of the present invention. Referring to FIG. 5, the design method using a design platform of a solar heat pump fusion system (1000) includes a heat demand location condition input step (S10), a performance and cost data input step (S20), and a setting step (S30).

[0059] In the heat demand location condition input step (S10), the required heat quantity, required temperature, required pressure, type of fluid, climate conditions of the heat demand location, available site area and shape of the heat demand location, distance from the heat load location, heat load time distribution, presence or type of existing heating device at the heat demand location, presence or absence of waste heat, and specifications are input into the design platform. In one example, climate conditions may include solar radiation, ambient temperature, etc.

[0060] In the performance and cost data input step (S20), performance data and cost data of the solar heat collection device (100) and heat pump device (200) are input into the design platform.

[0061] In one example, performance data may include the supplyable temperature of the solar heat collection device (100), the amount of heat collected per unit area, the heat collection efficiency, and the capacity.

[0062] In one example, performance data may include the heat source temperature, water outlet temperature, COP, and capacity of the heat pump device (200).

[0063] In one example, cost data may include product price, installation cost, and operating cost.

[0064] In the setting step (S30), the capacity of the heat pump device (200), the capacity of the thermal storage tank, and the specifications of the solar heat collection device (100) are set by determining the operational economic feasibility based on the input values entered through the heat demand location condition input step (S10) and the performance and cost data input step.

[0065] In one example, operational economics may include CAPEX (Capital expenditure), OPEX (Operating expenditure), NPV (Net present value), ROI (Return on Investment), Payback time, and LCOH (Levelized cost of heat).

[0066] In one example, if an existing heating device exists, in the setting step (S30), it can be determined whether the solar heat collection device (100) and the heat pump device (200) can be combined with the existing heating device.

[0067] In one example, the setting step (S30) is based on the premise that the amount of heat required at the heat demand location is produced in the order of i) solar heat collection device (100) and ii) heat pump device (200) and supplied to the heat demand location, and that if the existing heating device can be integrated, the existing heating device is used as an auxiliary heat source for the heat pump device (200).

[0068] In one example, the condition for an existing heating device to be used as an auxiliary heat source for a heat pump device (200) can be determined by considering the operational economy.

[0070] FIG. 6 illustrates a method of designing using a design platform for a solar heat pump fusion system (1000) according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[0071] In the heat demand location condition input step (S10), the amount of heat required at the heat demand location, the environmental conditions of the heat demand location, and whether there is an existing heating device at the heat demand location are input into the design platform. In one example, as shown in FIG. 6, depending on whether waste heat is generated at the heat demand location and the process temperature of the heat demand location, the capacity of the heat pump device (200), the specifications of the solar heat collection device (100), and whether there is an existing heating device can be determined.

[0072] For example, if waste heat is generated at a heat demand location and the process temperature at the heat demand location is 180 degrees Celsius, a heat pump device (200) with a capacity to heat the fluid to 120 degrees Celsius is selected, a solar heat collection device (100) capable of heating the fluid to 90 degrees Celsius is selected, and a steam generator provided as an existing heating device is decided to be combined.

[0073] To this end, the design platform of the solar heat pump fusion system (1000) stores in advance information regarding the maximum fluid heating temperature according to the capacity of the heat pump device (200), information regarding the maximum fluid heating temperature of the solar heat collection device (100) according to the specifications of the collector (110) of the solar heat collection device (100), and information regarding the heat capacity generated by the existing heating device.

[0074] Hereinafter, a solar heat pump fusion system (1000) designed using a design platform of a solar heat pump fusion system (1000) will be described with reference to FIGS. 7 to 10. The above-described supply device is described as being fused or merged with an existing heating device (600) shown in FIGS. 7 to 10.

[0075] FIG. 7 shows an embodiment of a solar heat pump fusion system (1000) designed using the design platform of the solar heat pump fusion system (1000) of the present invention.

[0076] FIG. 7 shows a system (1000) that incorporates existing heating devices (600). In one example, when waste heat is generated at a heat demand location (500) and the process temperature of the heat demand location (500) is 180 degrees Celsius, a heat pump device (200) with a capacity to heat the fluid to 120 degrees Celsius is selected, a solar heat collection device (100) capable of heating the fluid to 90 degrees Celsius is selected, and a steam generator provided as an existing heating device (600) is decided to be incorporated.

[0077] FIGS. 8 to 10 each show different embodiments of a solar heat pump fusion system (1000) designed using the design platform of the solar heat pump fusion system (1000) of the present invention.

[0078] FIG. 8 illustrates a system (1000) in which an existing heating device (600) is unnecessary. In one example, waste heat is generated at a heat demand location (500), and when the process temperature of the heat demand location (500) is 120 degrees Celsius, a heat pump device (200) capable of heating the fluid to 120 degrees Celsius is selected, and a solar heat collection device (100) capable of heating the fluid to 90 degrees Celsius is selected. In this case, since the fluid at the desired temperature can be supplied to the heat demand location (500) without merging the existing heating device (600), the existing heating device (600) may not be merged. However, in terms of operational economics, it may be advantageous to use the existing heating device (600) as an auxiliary heat source as needed, so the steam generator, which is the existing heating device (600), can be merged and used as an auxiliary heat source.

[0079] FIG. 9 shows a system (1000) that incorporates existing heating devices (600). In one example, when no waste heat is generated at the heat demand location (500) and the process temperature of the heat demand location (500) is 182 degrees Celsius, a heat pump device (200) with a capacity to heat the fluid to 75 degrees Celsius is selected, a solar heat collection device (100) capable of heating the fluid to 65 degrees Celsius is selected, and a steam generator provided as an existing heating device (600) is decided to be incorporated.

[0080] FIG. 10 illustrates a system (1000) that requires operation in conjunction with an existing heating device (600) (LPG boiler). In one example, when the process temperature of a heat demand location (500) is 70 degrees Celsius, a heat pump device (200) with a capacity to heat the fluid to 70 degrees Celsius is selected, a solar heat collection device (100) capable of heating the fluid to 65 degrees Celsius is selected, and it is decided to operate in conjunction with the existing heating device (600).

[0081] According to the present invention, the solar heat pump fusion system (1000) has the advantage of being able to supply high-temperature heat in the most economical and eco-friendly way for the installed environment or situation.

[0082] In addition, according to the present invention, by fusing a solar heat collector, a heat pump device (200), and a conventional heating device, there is an advantage of being able to provide a solar heat pump fusion system (1000) capable of providing a high heat supply temperature.

[0083] In addition, according to the present invention, existing heat supply equipment can be utilized, which has the advantage of enabling manufacturing, installation, and operation to be implemented at a low cost.

[0084] As described above, the present disclosure has been explained by specific details and limited embodiments in this specification; however, this is provided merely to aid in a more comprehensive understanding of the present disclosure, and the present disclosure is not limited to the above embodiments. A person skilled in the art to which the present disclosure pertains can make various modifications and variations from this description.
