Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a vehicle lamp, and more specifically, to a vehicle lamp that can simplify the structure and improve marketability. Background Technology
[0003] Generally, vehicles are equipped with various types of lamps that have a lighting function to easily identify objects located around the vehicle during night driving and a signal function to inform other vehicles or road users of the vehicle's driving status.
[0004] For example, the vehicle is equipped with headlamps (headlights or headlights) and fog lamps primarily intended for lighting functions, and turn signal lamps, tail lamps, brake lamps, and side markers intended for signaling functions, and the installation standards and specifications for these vehicle lamps are stipulated by law so that each function can be fully performed.
[0005] Among vehicle lamps, headlamps that form a low beam pattern or a high beam pattern to ensure the driver's forward visibility during night driving play a very important role in safe driving.
[0006] Meanwhile, new regulations have recently been enacted requiring lamps to be turned on even during the day to reduce traffic accidents, and Daytime Running Lights (DRL) are now mandatory on recently released vehicles.
[0007] In addition, vehicle lamps are regulated so that their luminous intensity, color of light, and light distribution range correspond to each function (e.g., high beam, low beam, daytime running beam) in order to fully perform each function.
[0008] However, conventionally, lighting areas for forming daytime driving beam patterns (DRL patterns) and nighttime lighting beam patterns (low beam patterns or high beam patterns) must be provided separately, which results in complex structures and manufacturing processes and increased manufacturing costs.
[0009] Accordingly, various studies have recently been conducted to simplify the structure and manufacturing processes and reduce costs, but they are still insufficient, and further development is required. The problem to be solved
[0011] The embodiment of the present invention aims to provide a vehicle lamp that can simplify the structure and improve marketability.
[0012] In particular, the embodiment of the present invention aims to enable different lighting images to be implemented in a single lighting area.
[0013] In addition, the embodiments of the present invention aim to improve space utilization and design freedom, and to reduce costs.
[0014] In addition, the embodiments of the present invention aim to improve design characteristics and enhance user satisfaction.
[0015] The problems intended to be solved in the embodiments are not limited thereto, and may also include objectives or effects that can be identified from the means of solving the problems or the embodiments described below. means of solving the problem
[0017] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention for achieving the objectives of the present invention described above, a vehicle lamp comprises a first light source unit, a reflector that reflects a first light generated from the first light source unit, a lens that projects the first light reflected from the reflector to the outside, a second light source unit provided on the outside of the reflector, and a light guide member provided between the reflector and the lens and that guides a second light generated from the second light source unit.
[0018] This is intended to simplify the structure and improve marketability.
[0019] In other words, conventionally, lighting areas for forming daytime driving beam patterns (DRL patterns) and nighttime lighting beam patterns (low beam patterns or high beam patterns) must be provided separately, which results in complex structures and manufacturing processes and increased manufacturing costs.
[0020] However, the embodiment of the present invention can achieve the advantageous effect of simplifying the structure and improving design freedom and space utilization by enabling different lighting images to be implemented in a single lighting area without individually providing lighting areas for implementing different lighting images.
[0021] Above all, in an embodiment of the present invention, by providing a light guide member inside (front) the reflector, it is possible to utilize the reflector as a back cover for the light guide member. Therefore, since there is no need to provide a separate back cover for the light guide member, the advantageous effect of simplifying the structure and manufacturing process can be obtained.
[0023] The type and structure of the first light source unit may be varied depending on the required conditions and design specifications.
[0024] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the first light source unit may include a first light source and a second light source configured to be individually ignitable with respect to the first light source.
[0025] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the first light source and the second light source may be illuminated sequentially. According to another embodiment of the present invention, it is also possible to configure the first light source and the second light source constituting the first light source unit to be illuminated (or flashed) simultaneously.
[0027] The reflector can be formed with various structures capable of reflecting the first light generated from the first light source.
[0028] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the reflector may include a reflective wall portion having a reflective surface that reflects a first light, a first side wall portion connected to one end of the reflective wall portion, and a second side wall portion connected to the other end of the reflective wall portion.
[0029] For example, the reflective surface of the reflective wall portion may include a first reflective surface corresponding to a first light source and a second reflective surface corresponding to a second light source.
[0031] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a reflector is configured to reflect a first light in a first direction, and a light guide member is configured to guide a second light in a second direction that intersects the first direction.
[0033] The light guide member can be supported in various ways depending on the required conditions and design specifications.
[0034] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the light guide member may be supported by a reflector.
[0035] In this way, by using a reflector provided to reflect the first light to support the light guide member, the structure for supporting the light guide member can be simplified, and an advantageous effect can be obtained to improve design freedom and space utilization.
[0037] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the light guide member may be supported by a first side wall and a second side wall.
[0038] For example, a vehicle lamp may include a first support hole formed in a first side wall and a second support hole formed in a second side wall, and a light guide member may be arranged to pass through the first support hole and the second support hole.
[0040] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a vehicle lamp may include a fixing part provided on a light guide member and fixed to a reflector.
[0041] In this way, by providing a fixed part, the movement of the light guide member can be suppressed, and the advantageous effect of stably maintaining the arrangement state of the light guide member can be obtained.
[0042] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a fixing hole may be formed in the reflector, and the fixing part may be fixed in the fixing hole.
[0043] Preferably, the vehicle lamp may include an extension extending to the outer surface of the reflector, and a fixing hole may be provided in the extension.
[0044] In this way, by forming a fixing hole in the extension extending from the outer surface of the reflector, for example, there is no need to form the thickness of the first side wall thicker than the second side wall to ensure fastening strength by the fixing part, so it is possible to form the thicknesses of the reflecting wall, the first side wall, and the second side wall uniformly.
[0045] Furthermore, since the fixed part can be prevented from protruding into the interior of the reflector, an advantageous effect can be obtained in advance of blocking (or interfering) the path of the first light by the fixed part protruding into the interior of the reflector.
[0047] The fixed part can be formed in various structures capable of fixing the light guide member to the reflector.
[0048] For example, the fixing part may include a snap-fit coupling part that is snap-fit coupled to a fixing hole.
[0049] As another example, the fixed part may include a heat-fused part that passes through a fixed hole and is heat-fused to a reflector.
[0050] According to another embodiment of the present invention, a vehicle lamp may include a fastening member that fastens a fixed portion to a reflector.
[0052] According to another embodiment of the present invention, the light guide member may include a first transparent surface in a planar shape into which a first light is incident, and a second transparent surface in a planar shape provided parallel to the first transparent surface into which the first light is emitted.
[0053] In this way, by allowing the first light reflected from the reflector to pass through the light guide member, it is not necessary to provide additional space for mounting the light guide member, thereby enabling different lighting images to be realized in a single lighting area, and thereby achieving the advantageous effect of simplifying the structure of the vehicle lamp and contributing to the miniaturization of the vehicle lamp. Effects of the invention
[0055] As described above, according to an embodiment of the present invention, the structure can be simplified and an advantageous effect of improving marketability can be obtained.
[0056] In particular, according to an embodiment of the present invention, an advantageous effect can be obtained of implementing different lighting images in a single lighting area without individually providing lighting areas for implementing different lighting images.
[0057] In addition, according to an embodiment of the present invention, space utilization and design freedom can be improved, and advantageous effects such as cost reduction can be obtained.
[0058] In addition, according to an embodiment of the present invention, advantageous effects can be obtained to improve design characteristics and enhance user satisfaction. Brief explanation of the drawing

[0071] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 10, a vehicle lamp (10) according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises a first light source unit (200), a reflector (210) that reflects a first light generated from the first light source unit (200), a lens (120) that projects the first light reflected from the reflector (210) to the outside, a second light source unit (300) provided on the outside of the reflector (210), and a light guide member (310) provided between the reflector (210) and the lens (120) and that guides a second light (LP2) generated from the second light source unit (300).
[0072] For reference, the vehicle lamp (10) according to the embodiment of the present invention may be used primarily for lighting functions (e.g., head lamp, fog lamp) or for signal functions (e.g., turn signal lamp, tail lamp, brake lamp, side marker), and the present invention is not limited or restricted by the use of the vehicle lamp (10).
[0073] For example, a vehicle lamp (10) according to an embodiment of the present invention may be provided on the front left and front right sides of a vehicle and used as a head lamp for the vehicle.
[0075] As the first light source (200), various objects or devices capable of emitting the first light (LP1) provided inside the housing (110) may be used, and the present invention is not limited or restricted by the type and structure of the first light source (200).
[0076] For example, the first light source unit (200) may include a single or multiple light sources that irradiate the first light (LP1), and the present invention is not limited or restricted by the type and characteristics of the light sources.
[0077] For example, a light-emitting diode (LED), which is a semiconductor light-emitting device, may be used as the light source of the first light source unit (200), and it is also possible to use multiple LEDs that emit light of the same or different colors depending on the required conditions and design specifications. According to another embodiment of the present invention, it is also possible to use a laser diode, a bulb, a halogen, a xenon (HID), etc., as the light source.
[0078] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the first light source unit (200) may include a first light source (202), a second light source (204), and a third light source (206) that are individually light-up. According to another embodiment of the present invention, the first light source unit may be composed of two or fewer light sources or may include four or more light sources.
[0080] The lighting method of the first light source (202), second light source (204), and third light source (206) constituting the first light source unit (200) can be varied according to the required conditions and design specifications.
[0081] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the first light source (202), the second light source (204), and the third light source (206) constituting the first light source unit (200) may be lit sequentially. For example, with reference to FIG. 3, the first light source (202), the second light source (204), and the third light source (206) may be lit sequentially from left to right.
[0082] According to another embodiment of the present invention, it is also possible to configure the first light source, the second light source, and the third light source constituting the first light source unit to all light up (or flash) simultaneously.
[0084] A reflector (210) is provided inside the housing (110) to reflect the first light (LP1) generated from the first light source (200) forward (e.g., upward direction based on FIG. 3).
[0085] The reflector (210) can be formed in various structures capable of reflecting the first light (LP1) generated from the first light source (200) forward, and the present invention is not limited or restricted by the shape and structure of the reflector (210).
[0086] For example, the reflector (210) may be formed in the shape of an elliptical curve or a free curve with a reflective layer (reflective surface) formed on its inner surface so as to reflect the first light (LP1) generated from the first light source (200) toward the front of the vehicle lamp (10), and may be provided with a structure having a single focus or multiple focus. Preferably, the first light source (200) may be positioned at the focus or near the focus of the reflector (210).
[0087] For reference, in an embodiment of the present invention, reflecting the first light (LP1) generated from the first light source (200) forward can be understood as reflecting the first light (LP1) in the direction in which light is irradiated from the vehicle lamp (10), and the direction in which "forward" means may vary depending on the installation position and direction of the vehicle lamp (10).
[0089] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the reflector (210) may include a reflective wall portion (212) having a reflective surface (213) that reflects a first light (LP1), a first side wall portion (214) connected to one end of the reflective wall portion (212), and a second side wall portion (216) connected to the other end of the reflective wall portion (212), and the reflective wall portion (212), the first side wall portion (214), and the second side wall portion (216) may be formed to form a roughly "U" shape in a cooperative manner.
[0090] For example, the reflective surface (213) of the reflective wall portion (212) may include a first reflective surface (213a) corresponding to the first light source (202), a second reflective surface (213b) corresponding to the second light source (204), and a third reflective surface (213c) corresponding to the third light source (206).
[0091] The first light (LP1) generated from the first light source (202) can be reflected by the first reflective surface (213a), the first light (LP1) generated from the second light source (204) can be reflected by the second reflective surface (213b), and the first light (LP1) generated from the third light source (206) can be reflected by the third reflective surface (213c).
[0092] For reference, the number and structure of the reflective surfaces (213) may vary depending on the number and structure of the light sources constituting the first light source unit (200), and the present invention is not limited or restricted by the number and structure of the reflective surfaces (213).
[0093] Preferably, the lower portions of the reflective wall portion (212), the first side wall portion (214), and the second side wall portion (216) may be integrally connected by a bottom portion (not shown). According to another embodiment of the present invention, instead of connecting the lower portions of the reflective wall portion, the first side wall portion, and the second side wall portion to a separate bottom portion, it is also possible to directly fix (support) the lower portions of the reflective wall portion, the first side wall portion, and the second side wall portion inside a vehicle lamp.
[0094] In this way, by including a first side wall portion (214) and a second side wall portion (216) in the reflector (210), an advantageous effect can be obtained to improve the structural stability of the reflector (210) and minimize deformation (e.g., shrinkage) of the reflector (210).
[0096] The lens (120) is configured to transmit the first light (LP1) reflected by the reflector (210) to the outside.
[0097] Various lenses (120) capable of projecting the first light (LP1) generated from the first light source (200) outward can be used as the lens (120), and the present invention is not limited or restricted by the type and structure of the lens (120).
[0098] For example, a conventional aspherical lens can be used as the lens (120) and can be used as an inner lens.
[0100] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a shield member (not shown) may be provided between the reflector (210) and the lens (120).
[0101] A shield member is provided between the reflector (210) and the lens (120) to block a portion of the first light (LP1) generated from the first light source (200) (e.g., the first light reflected from the reflector) so that a specific beam pattern can be formed.
[0102] The shield member may be formed in various structures capable of blocking or diverting a portion of the first light (LP1) generated from the first light source (200) to form a specific beam pattern, and the present invention is not limited or restricted by the structure and operation method of the shield member.
[0103] For example, the shield member may be rotatably provided to be selectively positioned on the optical axis between the reflector (210) and the lens (120), and a stepped portion (not shown) may be formed on the upper surface of the shield member to form a cut-off line according to the beam pattern.
[0104] Additionally, a reflective layer (not shown) that reflects the blocked first light (LP1) may be formed in at least a portion of the shield member. For example, a reflective layer is formed on the upper surface of the shield member, and the first light (LP1) blocked by the shield member is reflected upward by the reflective layer to reinforce the near-field view.
[0106] The lens (120) can form a beam pattern by transmitting light that has passed through the shield member and a first light (LP1) reflected by the shield member to the outside. For example, the beam pattern may be a low beam pattern to secure a short-range forward view when driving a vehicle at night.
[0107] According to another embodiment of the present invention, the beam pattern may be a high beam pattern for securing a forward view of distant signs, such as road signs, during night driving of a vehicle, and the beam pattern may be varied according to required conditions and design specifications.
[0109] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a vehicle lamp (10) may include an outer lens (130) provided in front of a lens (120).
[0110] The outer lens (130) may be provided in front of the lens (120) to protect the first light source unit (200) and surrounding parts from moisture, dust and external impact, and to form an exterior.
[0111] The outer lens (130) may be formed of a transparent or translucent light-transmitting material through which light can pass, and the present invention is not limited or restricted by the material and characteristics of the outer lens (130).
[0113] The second light source (300) is provided on the outside of the reflector (210).
[0114] Here, the second light source unit (300) being provided on the outside of the reflector (210) is defined as being positioned so that the second light source unit (300) does not block (or interfere with) the path of the first light (LP1) generated from the first light source unit (200) (the path of the first light reflected through the reflector).
[0115] Various objects or devices capable of emitting the second light (LP2) may be used as the second light source (300), and the present invention is not limited or restricted by the type and structure of the second light source (300).
[0116] For example, the second light source unit (300) may include a single or multiple light sources (not shown) that irradiate the second light, and the present invention is not limited or restricted by the type and characteristics of the light sources.
[0117] For example, a semiconductor light-emitting diode (LED) may be used as the light source of the second light source unit (300), and it is also possible to use multiple LEDs that emit light of the same or different colors depending on the required conditions and design specifications. According to another embodiment of the present invention, it is also possible to use a laser diode, bulb, halogen, xenon (HID), etc., as the light source.
[0119] A light guide member (310) is provided between a reflector (210) and a lens (120) to guide the second light (LP2) generated from the second light source (300).
[0120] For example, a light guide member (310) is provided to guide a second light (LP2) generated from a second light source (300) to form a beam pattern different from the beam pattern (e.g., low beam pattern or high beam pattern) by the first light (LP1) (e.g., low beam pattern or high beam pattern) (e.g., daytime running light pattern).
[0121] Preferably, the reflector (210) is configured to reflect the first light (LP1) in a first direction (e.g., up and down direction with reference to FIG. 3), and the light guide member (310) is configured to guide the second light (LP2) in a second direction (e.g., left and right direction with reference to FIG. 3) that intersects the first direction.
[0122] For reference, in the embodiments of the present invention described above, the light guide member (310) is described as being positioned perpendicular to the path of the first light (LP1), but according to other embodiments of the present invention, it is also possible to position the light guide member at an angle with respect to a horizontal line perpendicular to the path of the first light.
[0123] The light guide member (310) can be formed in various structures capable of guiding the second light (LP2) generated from the second light source (300). For example, the light guide member (310) can be formed in the shape of a hollow rod (straight rod shape or curved rod shape) having a predetermined length and can be arranged along a second direction that intersects the path of the first light.
[0125] As the light guide member (310), various guide members capable of guiding the second light (LP2) generated from the second light source (300) in the second direction may be used, and the present invention is not limited or restricted by the type and characteristics of the light guide member (310).
[0126] For example, as a light guide member (310), a rod optic capable of guiding the second light (LP2) generated from the second light source (300) in a second direction by total reflection along the interior can be used.
[0128] In this way, the embodiment of the present invention can achieve the advantageous effect of simplifying the structure and improving design freedom and space utilization by enabling different lighting images (lighting image by the first light and lighting image by the second light) to be realized in a single lighting area without individually providing lighting areas for realizing a lighting image by the first light (LP1) and a lighting image by the second light (LP2).
[0129] Above all, in an embodiment of the present invention, by providing a light guide member (310) inside (front) of the reflector (210), it is possible to utilize the reflector (210) as a back cover for the light guide member (310). Therefore, since there is no need to provide a separate back cover for the light guide member (310), the advantageous effect of simplifying the structure and manufacturing process can be obtained.
[0131] The light guide member (310) can be supported in various ways according to the required conditions and design specifications, and the present invention is not limited or restricted by the support structure of the light guide member (310).
[0132] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the light guide member (310) can be supported by a reflector (210).
[0133] In this way, by using a reflector (210) provided to reflect the first light (LP1) to support the light guide member (310), the structure for supporting the light guide member (310) can be simplified, and an advantageous effect can be obtained to improve design freedom and space utilization.
[0134] According to another embodiment of the present invention, it is also possible to provide a separate structure or component for supporting a light guide member in front of the reflector.
[0136] The support structure of the light guide member (310) by the reflector (210) can be varied according to the required conditions and design specifications.
[0137] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the light guide member (310) may be supported by a first side wall portion (214) and a second side wall portion (216).
[0138] For example, a vehicle lamp (10) may include a first support hole (214a) formed in a first side wall portion (214) and a second support hole (216a) formed in a second side wall portion (216), and a light guide member (310) may be arranged to pass through the first support hole (214a) and the second support hole (216a), and the light guide member (310) may be supported by a reflector (210) in a two-end support manner.
[0140] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a vehicle lamp (10) may include a fixing part (320) that is provided on a light guide member (310) and fixed to a reflector (210).
[0141] In this way, by providing a fixed part (320), the movement of the light guide member (310) is suppressed, and the advantageous effect of stably maintaining the arrangement state of the light guide member (310) can be obtained.
[0142] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a fixing hole (219) may be formed in the reflector (210), and a fixing part (320) may be fixed in the fixing hole (219).
[0143] Preferably, the vehicle lamp (10) may include an extension (218) that extends to the outer surface of the reflector (210) (e.g., the outer surface of the first side wall portion (214)), and a fixing hole (219) may be provided in the extension (218).
[0144] In this way, by forming a fixing hole (219) in the extension (218) extending on the outer surface of the reflector (210), for example, there is no need to form the thickness of the first side wall (214) thicker than the second side wall (216) to ensure the fastening strength by the fixing part (320), so it is possible to form the thicknesses of the reflecting wall (212), the first side wall (214), and the second side wall (216) uniformly.
[0145] Furthermore, since the fixed part (320) can be prevented from protruding into the interior of the reflector (210), an advantageous effect can be obtained in advance to prevent the blocking (or interference) of the path of the first light (LP1) by the fixed part (320) protruding into the interior of the reflector (210).
[0147] The fixing part (320) can be formed in various structures capable of fixing the light guide member (310) to the reflector (210), and the present invention is not limited or restricted by the structure and fixing method of the fixing part (320).
[0148] For example, referring to FIG. 7, the fixing part (320) may include a snap-fit coupling part (322) that is snap-fit coupled to the fixing hole (219).
[0149] The snap-fit coupling portion (322) can be elastically snap-fit coupled to the fixing hole (219) using the elasticity of the material (e.g., plastic material), and the present invention is not limited or restricted by the shape and structure of the snap-fit coupling portion (322).
[0150] As another example, referring to FIG. 8, the fixed part (320) may include a heat-fused part (324) that passes through the fixed hole (219) and is heat-fused to the reflector (210) (e.g., the surface of the extension part).
[0151] The heat-fused portion (324) can be heat-fused to the surface of the reflector (210) so as to have an expanded area compared to the fixed hole (219) as heat and pressure are applied while passing through the fixed hole (219).
[0153] Referring to FIG. 9, according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a vehicle lamp (10) may include a fastening member (330) that fastens a fixed part (320) to a reflector (210).
[0154] Various types of fastening members capable of fastening the fixed part (320) to the reflector (210) may be used as the fastening member (330), and the present invention is not limited or restricted by the type and structure of the fastening member (330).
[0155] For example, as a fastening member (330), a screw or bolt that can be fastened to the extension (218) may be used.
[0157] Meanwhile, referring to FIG. 10, the light guide member (310') can be positioned to block the path of the first light (LP1) reflected from the reflector (210).
[0158] At this time, if the light guide member (310') is positioned to block the path of the first light (LP1) reflected from the reflector (210), the first light (LP1) reflected from the reflector (210) can pass through the light guide member (310) and proceed (irradiate) to the lens (120).
[0159] In this way, by allowing the first light (LP1) reflected from the reflector (210) to pass through the light guide member (310'), it is not necessary to provide additional space for mounting the light guide member (310'), thereby enabling different lighting images to be realized in a single lighting area, and thereby simplifying the structure of the vehicle lamp (10) and contributing to the miniaturization of the vehicle lamp (10), an advantageous effect can be obtained.
[0160] To this end, the light guide member (310') may be formed from a transparent or translucent light-transmitting material using one suitable of PC (polycarbonate), PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate), epoxy, acrylic, PET (Polyethylene phthalate), melamine resin, or glass.
[0161] The transmittance of the light guide member (310') may be formed to be the same overall or partially different, and the present invention is not limited or restricted by the transmittance of the light guide member (310').
[0163] The light guide member (310') can be formed in various structures that can minimize the degradation of the characteristics of the first light (LP1) reflected from the reflector (210).
[0164] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, with reference to FIG. 10, the light guide member (310') may include a first transparent surface (310a') in a planar shape into which a first light (LP1) is incident, and a second transparent surface (310b') in a planar shape provided parallel to the first transparent surface (310a') into which the first light (LP1) is emitted.
[0165] For example, the light guide member (310) may be formed to have a hollow square cross-sectional shape including a first transparent surface (310a') and a second transparent surface (310b') that are parallel to each other.
[0166] In this way, by causing the first light (LP1) reflected from the reflector (210) to pass through the first transmission surface (310a') and the second transmission surface (310b'), which have a planar shape and are parallel to each other, the bending or alteration of the path of the first light (LP1) while it passes through the light guide member (310') can be minimized, and the advantageous effect of ensuring the straightness of the first light (LP1) can be obtained. According to another embodiment of the present invention, it is also possible to form the first transmission surface and the second transmission surface as curved surfaces or other shapes.
[0168] Although the invention has been described above with reference to embodiments, this is merely illustrative and does not limit the invention. Those skilled in the art will understand that various modifications and applications not exemplified above are possible within the scope of the essential characteristics of the embodiments. For example, each component specifically shown in the embodiments may be modified and implemented. Furthermore, differences related to such modifications and applications should be interpreted as being included within the scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims.
