Description

Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a hand-guided floor cleaning machine for cleaning a floor surface, wherein the floor cleaning machine has a base, wherein the base is provided with a cleaning device having at least one passive brush element, wherein the brush element is configured to engage with the floor surface to be cleaned and the cleaning plane and also to support the base on the floor surface, wherein the floor cleaning machine has an operating handle pivotably fixed to the base and extending in a direction away from the base, an application device provided to the base for applying a cleaning liquid to the floor surface to be cleaned, and a suction device fixed to the base via a mount and configured to receive a dirty liquid from the floor surface to be cleaned. Background Technology

[0002] A floor cleaning machine of this type is known in the prior art. Here, a cleaning device is provided at a base, and the cleaning device has one or more passive brush elements configured to engage with the floor surface to be cleaned and, in the process, to detach dirt from the floor surface. An operating handle is pivotally attached to the base, and the floor cleaning machine, which is substantially supported by the brush elements against the floor surface to be cleaned, can be guided through the operating handle, and the orientation of the base can be adjusted. Additionally, an application device is provided, through which a cleaning liquid is moved into the area of the brush elements, thereby improving the detachment of dirt. Furthermore, a suction device connected to a dirty-liquid container in the base or the operating handle is articulated and directly connected to the base. Through the suction device, the dirty liquid can be removed from the floor surface to be cleaned by a vacuum generated in the dirty-liquid container by an extraction device.

[0003] In this type of floor cleaning machine, it has proven problematic that the base is supported solely by a passive brush element on the floor surface to be cleaned, resulting in a slight change in the direction of movement when the machine moves; this may be a consequence of the brush element bonding to the floor surface with varying degrees of strength. Therefore, it may be appropriate to provide a guide wheel on the base, which is placed on the floor surface to be cleaned. However, the vertical position of the guide wheel must be readjusted in a manner dependent on the wear of the brush element, which is difficult, and due to contact between the suction unit and the floor surface to be cleaned, the guide wheel must not be lifted off the floor surface.

[0004] Furthermore, to ensure that the dirty liquid is reliably extracted, the suction unit must be ensured to be reliably placed on the floor surface to be cleaned. Additionally, this type of machine must be configured to have a transfer position to enable the machine's transfer, in which the brush element and the suction unit are not placed on the floor surface, and nevertheless, the machine can be moved on the floor surface by means of wheels, in which case there is no risk of damage to the brush element and / or the suction unit. The problem to be solved

[0005] Therefore, proceeding from the prior art, the object of the present invention is to provide a hand-guided floor cleaning machine of the type mentioned in the introduction, wherein a guide wheel reliably contacts the floor surface to be cleaned and, independently thereof, a suction device reliably rests on the floor surface to be cleaned. means of solving the problem

[0006] According to the present invention, the above objective is achieved by a hand-guided floor cleaning machine for cleaning a floor surface, the machine having a base, the base being provided with a cleaning device having at least one passive brush element, the brush element being configured to engage with the floor surface to be cleaned in a cleaning plane and also to support the base against the floor surface, the floor cleaning machine having an operating handle pivotably fixed to the base and extending away from the base, an application device provided to the base for applying a cleaning liquid to the floor surface to be cleaned, and a suction foot fixed to the base via a mount and configured to receive dirty liquid from the floor surface to be cleaned, the mount having a first pivoting arm extending between a machine end and a free end, the pivoting arm being articulated to the base at the machine end so as to be pivotable about a first pivot axis parallel to the cleaning plane, the mount having a guide wheel attached to the first pivoting arm between the machine end and the free end, and the mount having a second pivoting arm extending between a proximal end and a distal end It has an arm, and this pivoting arm is articulated with the first pivoting arm between the machine end and the free end so as to be pivotable around a second pivot axis parallel to the first pivot axis, and the suction foot is attached to the distal end of the second pivoting arm.

[0007] Accordingly, in the case of a floor cleaning machine according to the present invention, one or more mounts are provided on a base, and in the mounts, a cleaning device is provided with a brush element that supports the base, and one or more mounts first have a first pivoting arm, and a guide wheel is attached to a portion of the pivoting arm that is far from the base, and the pivoting arm can pivot relative to the base. As a result, the guide wheel is always placed on the floor surface to be cleaned regardless of the height of the brush element.

[0008] In one preferred embodiment, a prestressing device may be provided to apply prestress to the first pivoting arm so that the free end of the first pivoting arm is pressed toward the cleaning plane, and the free end of the brush element is positioned on the cleaning plane. As a result, the guide wheel is pressed against the floor surface to be cleaned. In particular, the prestressing device may have a spring disposed between the base and the first pivoting arm.

[0009] According to the present invention, furthermore, a second pivoting arm is pivotably articulated with respect to a first pivoting arm of one or more mounts, and the second pivoting arm holds a suction foot. Since the second pivoting arm can be pivoted relative to the first pivoting arm, the vertical position of the suction foot relative to the guide wheel can be changed. Furthermore, by means of the pivotable second pivoting arm of one or more holders, even if the guide wheel is placed on the floor surface to be cleaned, the suction foot is pivoted upward to a transfer position away from this floor surface, and in that transfer position, the suction foot is no longer placed on the floor surface. Thus, the floor cleaning machine can move on the floor surface by means of the guide wheel without the suction foot being placed on this floor surface and without the suction foot being damaged.

[0010] In a preferred manner, the suction foot is configured to have a suction foot base to which a front suction lip and a rear suction lip are attached, the lips are preferably extended away from the suction foot base and are also spaced apart from each other so that an extraction space is defined by the suction lip and the suction foot base, the edge of the suction lip away from the suction foot base is configured to extend in a contact plane and rest on the floor surface to be cleaned, and the distal end of a second pivoting arm is fastened to the suction foot base. By this type of configuration of the suction foot, when a vacuum is applied to an extraction space that can be connected to a dirty-liquid container of a floor cleaning machine, the dirty liquid can be reliably removed from the floor surface to be cleaned.

[0011] In a more preferable manner, the suction foot may have a guide element, such as a sliding element or a wheel, provided to be placed on the floor surface to be cleaned, and consequently, this guide element fixes the vertical position of the suction foot relative to the floor surface to be cleaned and prevents the entire load of the suction foot from having to be supported by the suction lip. This guide element is preferably provided in the center of the suction foot.

[0012] Furthermore, it is preferable that a stop be provided on the first or second pivoting arm, and that this stop be configured to limit the pivoting movement of the second pivoting arm relative to the first pivoting arm, moving away from the base. As a result, the suction foot is prevented from pivoting too much downward below the level defined by the contact surface of one or more guide wheels.

[0013] In a more preferred embodiment, a locking device is provided, the locking device having a first latch element connected to a base of a suction foot and a second latch element attached to a base or a first pivoting arm (51), the first and second latch elements are configured and attached to be releaseably coupled in a transfer position where the suction foot is pivoted away from the cleaning plane, so as to prevent the suction foot from performing a pivoting motion toward the cleaning plane. Thus, when pivoted away from the floor surface, the suction foot is locked in this transfer position so as to prevent it from voluntarily pivoting backward. In a particularly preferred manner, the first latch element is configured as a lever movably attached to the suction foot and preloaded to a locking position, and when the suction foot is in a transfer position and the first latch element is in a locking position, the first latch element engages with the second latch element, and the first latch element can be released from the second latch element by a movement against the preload. This type of device can be operated simply.

[0014] Additionally, the suction foot can be pivoted to a transfer position by pivoting the second pivoting arm, and at that transfer position, the suction foot is pivoted away from the cleaning plane, and it is preferable that the first pivoting arm can be pivoted relative to the base between an upward pivot position and a downward pivot position. The free end is closer to the cleaning plane at the downward pivot position than at the upward pivot position, and the first and second pivoting arms are connected to each other such that when the suction foot is pivoted to a transfer position by pivoting the second pivoting arm, the first pivoting arm is pivoted to an upward pivot position. Here, according to the present invention, the movement of the second pivoting arm is connected to the movement of the first pivoting arm, and by this connection, when the second pivoting arm is pivoted so that the suction foot is in a transfer position, the first pivoting arm is in a position closest to the base. Consequently, the suction unit moves to an ultra-high vertical position when in the transfer position, and as a result, the structure above the suction unit cannot come into contact with the brush element or base. Furthermore, the guide wheel is then fixed, and the vertical position does not change during the transfer movement.

[0015] Furthermore, to realize this, a connecting element is provided, which is articulated to a base so as to be pivotable about a first axis parallel to a first pivot axis, and the connecting element is attached to a second pivoting arm on one side of a second pivot axis facing away from the suction foot so as to be pivotable about a second axis parallel to a second pivot axis and also displaceable within a limited displacement range, and preferably the displacement range is configured such that when the suction foot is pivoted toward a transfer position, the end of the displacement range is reached before the transfer position is reached. In this way, by means of the connecting element, after the end of the displacement range is reached, an additional pivot of the second pivoting arm must always be connected to the pivot of the first pivoting arm. As a result, when the second pivoting arm and the suction foot are pivoted toward a transfer position, the first pivoting arm is also pivoted to a pivot position close to the base.

[0016] In a more preferred embodiment, the operating handle is pivotably connected to the base via a joint, and the locking mechanism can be adjusted between a locked position and an unlocked position. The operating handle is locked non-pivotably relative to the base in the transport position when the locking mechanism is in the locked position, and the operating handle can pivot relative to the base when the locking mechanism is in the unlocked position. In this embodiment, the operating handle can be locked to a specific position relative to the base, preferably a position where the longitudinal axis of the operating handle extends perpendicularly to the cleaning plane. The base can then be pivoted away from the floor surface by the pivoting of the operating handle, and this pivoting movement can occur around a guide wheel. Thus, the floor cleaning machine is inclined so that it can be pulled over the floor surface by the guide wheel for transport.

[0017] In one preferred embodiment, the hand-guided floor cleaning machine may be provided with a cleaning-liquid container connected to an application device; a dirty-liquid container connected to a suction foot; and an extraction device configured to apply a vacuum to the dirty-liquid container. Brief explanation of the drawing

[0018] Hereinafter, the present invention will be described based on drawings illustrating only one preferred exemplary embodiment: FIG. 1 is a perspective view of an exemplary embodiment of a hand-guided floor cleaning machine according to the present invention, and FIG. 2 shows a perspective view of the rear portion of the base of a floor cleaning machine having the suction part of FIG. 1, and FIG. 3 shows a perspective view of the lower part of the base of the floor cleaning machine of FIG. 1 viewed from below, and FIG. 4 shows a perspective view from below of the suction dispensing and base of an exemplary embodiment of FIG. 1, and FIG. 5 is a perspective view showing the rear part of the base and the suction part of the floor cleaning machine of FIG. 1, wherein the suction part is in a transfer position, and Figure 6 shows the floor cleaning machine of Figure 1 in a rearward pivoted position. Specific details for implementing the invention

[0019] As can be seen in FIG. 1, an exemplary embodiment of a hand-guided floor cleaning machine (1) according to the present invention has a base (3) configured to be guided over a floor surface (5) to be cleaned, and a cleaning device (9). In the preferred exemplary embodiment described herein, the cleaning device has two brush elements (7) that perform orbital motion provided on the base (3). The cleaning device (9) or the brush elements (7) move parallel to a cleaning plane (11), the free ends of the bristles of the brush elements (7) are positioned on the cleaning plane, and the brush elements are also engaged with the floor surface (5) to be cleaned. Additionally, the cleaning device (9) has an application device, for example, in the form of a nozzle, by which a cleaning liquid can be applied to the floor surface (5) to be cleaned, and this occurs so that the cleaning liquid enters the area where the brush elements (7) come into contact with the floor surface (5) to be cleaned. Here, the base (3) is supported on the floor surface (5) by the brush elements (7).

[0020] Furthermore, in particular, as can be seen from FIG. 1, an operating handle (13) having a grip for guiding the machine (1) is pivotally attached to a base (3), and the operating handle (13) and the base (3) are connected through a joint (14), and the operating handle (13) is configured to have a locking mechanism that can be adjusted between a locked position and an unlocked position. In the exemplary embodiment described herein, the transfer position of the floor cleaning machine (1) is selected such that the operating handle (13) is positioned so that its longitudinal axis (15) is substantially perpendicular to the cleaning plane (11), that is, when the floor cleaning machine (1) is positioned so that the brush element (7) is placed on the floor surface (5) to be cleaned, the operating handle (13) extends perpendicularly to the floor surface (5) to be cleaned. In this transfer position, the locking mechanism can move to a locked position and the operating handle (13) is non-pivotably locked to the base (3). When the locking mechanism moves to the release position, the locking action described above is released and the operating handle (13) can be freely pivoted relative to the base (3) within a predetermined angle range.

[0021] Additionally, as can be seen from FIG. 1, a cleaning liquid container (17) and a dirty liquid container (19) are fixed to an operating handle (13). The cleaning liquid container (17) is connected to an application device, so that cleaning liquid can be supplied from the cleaning liquid container (17) to the cleaning machine during the operation of the floor cleaning machine (1).

[0022] Additionally, as can be seen from the drawing, the suction part (23) is attached to the rear end of the base (3) when viewed in the normal direction of movement (21) through two mounts (25) in the preferred exemplary embodiment described herein.

[0023] The suction foot (23) comprises a suction foot base (27), from which a front suction lip (29) and a rear suction lip (31) extend downward substantially parallel to each other, and the suction lips (29, 31) extend along the suction foot base (27), and the edges (33) of the suction lips (27, 29) that are far from the suction foot base (27) are attached at a common contact plane, so that the edges (33) are placed together on the floor surface (5) to be cleaned. In the exemplary embodiment described herein, the suction foot (23) further has two wheel-shaped guide elements provided to be placed on the floor surface (5) to be cleaned, so that the vertical position of the suction foot (23) relative to the floor surface (5) to be cleaned is fixed, and the entire load of the suction foot (23) is prevented from having to be supported by the suction lips (29, 31) on the floor surface (5) to be cleaned. The wheel (34) is positioned at the center of the suction foot (23). However, it should also be noted that, as an alternative to the wheel (34) in this regard, the guide element can also be configured as a sliding element.

[0024] An extraction space is formed between the suction lip (29, 31) and the suction base (27), and this extraction space can be connected to a dirty-liquid container (19) through a connector (35) and a suction line (not shown in the drawing). The dirty-liquid container (19) is connected to a vacuum source, and as a result, a vacuum is applied to the extraction space by the suction line, and an airflow from the extraction space into the dirty-liquid container (19) can be created. In this way, the dirty liquid on the floor surface (5) to be cleaned can be transferred into the dirty-liquid container (19).

[0025] Additionally, as can be seen from FIGS. 2 to 4, each mount (25) that allows the suction foot (23) to be fixed to the base (3) has a first pivoting arm (37), and in the exemplary embodiment described herein, the first pivoting arm has two limbs (39) connected to each other through a connecting part (41), and the first pivoting arm (37) extends between the machine end (43) and the free end (45) and is articulated to the base (3) at the machine end (43) so as to be pivotable about the first pivot axis (47). Here, the first pivot axis (47) is parallel to the cleaning plane (11) that the brush element (7) engages with the floor surface (5) to be cleaned.

[0026] For each mount (25), a guide wheel (49) is rotatably fixed between the rims (39) of the first pivoting arm (37).

[0027] Additionally, as can be seen particularly from FIG. 3, a second pivoting arm (51) is provided on each of the first pivoting arms (37) apart from the machine end (43), and the second pivoting arm (51) extends between the proximal end (53) and the distal end (55), and the second pivoting arm (51) is articulated with the first pivoting arm (37) so as to be pivotable about the second pivot axis (57). Here, the first and second pivot axes (47, 57) are parallel to each other and thus parallel to the cleaning plane (11). The suction foot base (27) is fixedly attached to the distal end (55) of the second pivoting arm (51). As can be seen in FIG. 2, the second pivoting arm (51) likewise has two rims (59) connected to each other through a connecting part (61), and a guide wheel (49) is placed between the rims (59) in each case.

[0028] In particular, as can be seen in FIGS. 3 and 4, a stop (61) extending laterally is provided on the rim (39) of the first pivoting arm (37), and the rim (59) of the second pivoting arm (51) can come into contact with the stop (61), and as a result, the pivot range of the second pivoting arm (51) relative to the first pivoting arm (37) is limited downward by the stop (61).

[0029] The first pivoting arm (37) can be pivoted around the first pivot axis (47) in a limited pivot range, and this pivot range is limited upward by a bearing surface (63) on the rim (39), and the bearing surface (63) can come into contact with a protrusion (67) on the base (3).

[0030] Additionally, as can be seen in FIG. 3, and particularly FIG. 4, one of the mounts (25) has a preload element in the form of a spring (69) placed between the connecting part (41) of the first pivoting arm (37) and the base (3), so that the first pivoting arm (37) is preloaded in such a way that its free end (45) is pressed toward the cleaning plane (11). However, it is also possible for two mounts (25) to have a spring (69) attached in this way.

[0031] Additionally, as can be seen in FIGS. 2 and 3, one of the mounts (25) further has a connecting element (71) articulated to the base (3) so as to be pivotable around a first axis (73). One end of the connecting element (71) located away from the first axis (73) is connected to a second pivoting arm (51) so as to be pivotable around a second axis (75), and can be further displaced relative to the second pivoting arm (51) over a displacement range defined by a slot (77), and the connecting element (71) is attached to the second pivoting arm (51), i.e., the proximal end (53), on the side of the second pivot axis (57) facing away from the suction foot (23). The first and second axes (73, 75) are parallel to each other and parallel to the pivot axes (47, 57). This type of connecting element (71) can also be provided on two mounts (25).

[0032] Finally, as can be seen particularly in FIG. 2, a first latch element in the form of a pivotable lever (79) attached to the suction foot base (27) is provided on the suction foot base (27), and this lever (79) is spring-preloaded to the position shown in FIG. 2, so that, as a result, it can be pivoted to the right, deviating from the position shown in FIG. 2 only against some force. As shown in FIG. 5, when the suction foot (23) is pivoted upward to a transfer position around the second pivot axis (57), the first latch element in the form of a lever (79) can be coupled behind a part of the first pivoting arm (37) provided with a bearing surface (63) after being deflected against the action of the spring preload, which forms a second latch element, and as a result, the suction foot (23) can be locked to the transfer position shown in FIG. 5 through the coupling of the latch element.

[0033] While the suction foot (23) is pivoted to a transfer position around the second pivot axis (57), the pin (81) received in the slot (79) of the connecting element (71) is displaced until it contacts the end of the slot (79) and reaches the end of the displacement range, in which the connecting element (71) can be displaced relative to the second pivoting arm (51). This is the case before reaching the transfer position. When the pin (81) reaches the end of the slot and the suction foot (23) or the second pivoting arm (51) is further pivoted, the first pivoting arm (37) is pivoted upward away from the cleaning plane (7) due to the connecting element (71) against the action of the spring (69). As a result, in the transfer position, the first pivoting arm (37) is in the pivot position closest to the base (3), and as a result, the connector (35) of the suction dispensing base (27) is avoided from contacting the base (3).

[0034] Additionally, the connecting element (71) serves to prevent the first pivoting arm (37) from pivoting indefinitely downward from the base (3). This is because when the pin (81) reaches the bottom of the slot (79), the first pivoting arm (73) cannot pivot further downward due to contact between the second pivoting arm (51) and the stop (61).

[0035] Due to the mount (25) configured according to the present invention, the floor cleaning machine (1) having a suction foot (23) can be operated in the following manner.

[0036] In a normal cleaning operation, the suction device (23) is placed on the floor surface (5) to be cleaned to receive dirty liquid from the floor surface while the floor cleaning machine (1) is pushed by a user over the floor surface (5) to be cleaned. Here, the spring (69) ensures that the guide wheel (49) always remains on the floor surface (5) to be cleaned, regardless of the degree of wear of the brush element (7) or how far the guide wheel extends downward from the base (3). Since the guide wheel (49) is reliably supported on the floor surface (5) to be cleaned, the linear movement of the base (3) along the direction of movement (21) is made possible without issue.

[0037] Furthermore, the suction unit (23) can avoid obstacles vertically by pivoting the second pivoting arm (51), and furthermore, is reliably supported on the floor surface (5) to be cleaned, which is additionally ensured by the wheel (34).

[0038] If the user only wants to remove dirty liquid from the floor surface (5) to be cleaned, the operating handle (13) can be locked to the position shown in FIG. 6 with the help of a locking mechanism, and then the base (3) can be pivoted away from the floor surface (5) to be cleaned, and this pivoting motion occurs around the axis of rotation on which the guide wheel (49) rotates.

[0039] Finally, the user may first pivot the suction unit (23) to a transfer position in the manner already described, and the suction unit (23) is locked to that transfer position by the engagement of the lever (79) and an additional latch element, and then, likewise, pivot the base (3) away from the floor surface (5) to be cleaned when the operating handle (13) is locked. Then, the brush element (7) and the suction unit (23) are not placed on the floor surface, and the floor cleaning machine (1) can be transferred without damaging these elements.
