[0044] The present disclosure will be described in more detail below with reference to the drawings.

[0045] The suffixes "module" and "part" for components used in the following description are assigned solely for the ease of drafting this specification and do not inherently confer any particularly significant meaning or role. Accordingly, the terms "module" and "part" may be used interchangeably.

[0046] FIGS. 1a to 1e are drawings illustrating a wireless audio system including a wireless audio receiving device and a wireless audio transmitting device according to various embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0047] First, FIG. 1a illustrates a wireless audio system (10a) according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0048] Referring to the drawings, a wireless audio system (10a) according to one embodiment of the present disclosure may include a wireless audio transmission device (50) and a wireless audio receiving device (100).

[0049] In particular, the wireless audio system (10a) can correspond one-to-one with the wireless audio transmission device (50) and the wireless audio receiving device (100) based on a unicast method.

[0050] A wireless audio transmission device (50) may include a first communication module (135a) that transmits a first audio signal wirelessly by a first communication standard of a first frequency band, and a second communication module (135b) that transmits a second audio signal wirelessly by a second communication standard of a second frequency band larger than the first frequency band.

[0051] Meanwhile, the wireless audio receiving device (100) may include a first communication module (135a) that receives a first audio signal wirelessly by a first communication standard of a first frequency band, and a second communication module (135b) that receives a second audio signal wirelessly by a second communication standard of a second frequency band larger than the first frequency band.

[0052] For example, a wireless audio receiving device (100) outputs a first sound based on a first audio signal wirelessly by means of a first communication standard of a first frequency band received by a first communication module (135a), and when the wireless environment is complex and the packet error rate of the first audio signal is greater than a predetermined value, it can output a second sound based on a second audio signal wirelessly by means of a second communication standard of a second frequency band received by a second communication module (135b).

[0053] Accordingly, it becomes possible to stably receive audio wirelessly and output sound even in complex wireless environments.

[0054] Meanwhile, the wireless audio receiving device (100) receives a beacon signal from the first wireless audio transmitting device (50a) every period (Pc) corresponding to the first active period (Pa) and the first inactive period (Pb), and during the first inactive period (Pb), searches for additional devices and, when it receives a second beacon signal from the second wireless audio transmitting device (50b), transmits a connection request command to the second wireless audio transmitting device (50b), and based on the connection request command, while in a wireless connection based on ultra-wideband communication with the first wireless audio transmitting device (50a), additionally establishes a wireless connection based on ultra-wideband communication with the second wireless audio transmitting device (50b). Accordingly, frequency hopping in ultra-wideband communication can be performed using the beacon signal.

[0055] Next, FIG. 1b illustrates a wireless audio system (10b) according to another embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0056] Referring to the drawings, a wireless audio system (10b) according to another embodiment of the present disclosure may include a wireless audio transmission device (50) and a plurality of wireless audio receiving devices (100a1, 100a2).

[0057] In particular, the wireless audio system (10b) may be equipped with a wireless audio transmission device (50) and a plurality of wireless audio receiving devices (100a1, 100a2) based on a unicast method.

[0058] For example, when a wireless audio signal of a first channel to a second channel is output from a wireless audio transmission device (50), the wireless audio signal of the first channel may be transmitted to the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) among a plurality of wireless audio receiving devices (100a1, 100a2), and the wireless audio signal of the second channel may be transmitted to the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2). Accordingly, even in a complex wireless environment, it is possible to stably receive audio wirelessly and output sound.

[0059] Meanwhile, each wireless audio receiving device (100a1-100a2) outputs a first sound based on a first audio signal wirelessly by means of a first communication standard of a first frequency band received from a first communication module (135a), and when the wireless environment is complex and the packet error rate of the first audio signal is greater than a predetermined value, it can output a second sound based on a second audio signal wirelessly by means of a second communication standard of a second frequency band received from a second communication module (135b). Accordingly, even when the wireless environment is complex, it is possible to stably receive audio wirelessly and output sound.

[0060] Meanwhile, each wireless audio receiving device (100a1-100a2) receives a beacon signal from the first wireless audio transmitting device (50a) every period (Pc) corresponding to the first active period (Pa) and the first inactive period (Pb). During the first inactive period (Pb), it searches for additional devices and, when it receives a second beacon signal from the second wireless audio transmitting device (50b), it transmits a connection request command to the second wireless audio transmitting device (50b). Based on the connection request command, it additionally establishes a wireless connection based on ultra-wideband communication with the second wireless audio transmitting device (50b) while in a wireless connection based on ultra-wideband communication with the first wireless audio transmitting device (50a). Accordingly, frequency hopping in ultra-wideband communication can be performed using the beacon signal.

[0061] At this time, the multiple wireless audio receiving devices (100a1, 100a2) may each be wireless audio receiving devices for the left and right sides.

[0062] Next, FIG. 1c illustrates a wireless audio system (10c) according to another embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0063] Referring to the drawings, a wireless audio system (10c) according to another embodiment of the present disclosure may include a wireless audio transmission device (50) and a plurality of wireless audio receiving devices (100b1-100b4).

[0064] In particular, the wireless audio system (10c) may be equipped with a wireless audio transmission device (50) and a plurality of wireless audio receiving devices (100b1-100b4) based on a broadcast method.

[0065] For example, when a wireless audio signal of the first to fourth channel is output from a wireless audio transmission device (50), the wireless audio signal of the first channel may be transmitted to the first wireless audio receiving device (100b1) among a plurality of wireless audio receiving devices (100b1-100b4), the wireless audio signal of the second channel may be transmitted to the second wireless audio receiving device (100b2), the wireless audio signal of the third channel may be transmitted to the third wireless audio receiving device (100b3), and the wireless audio signal of the fourth channel may be transmitted to the fourth wireless audio receiving device (100b4). Accordingly, even in a complex wireless environment, it is possible to stably receive audio wirelessly and output sound.

[0066] Meanwhile, each wireless audio receiving device (100b1-100b4) outputs a first sound based on a first audio signal wirelessly by means of a first communication standard of a first frequency band received from a first communication module (135a), and when the wireless environment is complex and the packet error rate of the first audio signal is greater than a predetermined value, it can output a second sound based on a second audio signal wirelessly by means of a second communication standard of a second frequency band received from a second communication module (135b). Accordingly, even when the wireless environment is complex, it is possible to stably receive audio wirelessly and output sound.

[0067] Meanwhile, each wireless audio receiving device (100b1-100b4) receives a beacon signal from the first wireless audio transmitting device (50a) at each period (Pc) corresponding to the first active period (Pa) and the first inactive period (Pb). During the first inactive period (Pb), it searches for additional devices and, when it receives a second beacon signal from the second wireless audio transmitting device (50b), it transmits a connection request command to the second wireless audio transmitting device (50b). Based on the connection request command, it additionally establishes a wireless connection based on ultra-wideband communication with the second wireless audio transmitting device (50b) while in the wireless connection based on ultra-wideband communication with the first wireless audio transmitting device (50a). Accordingly, frequency hopping in ultra-wideband communication can be performed using the beacon signal.

[0068] Next, FIG. 1d illustrates a wireless audio system (10d) according to another embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0069] Referring to the drawings, a wireless audio system (10d) according to another embodiment of the present disclosure may include a wireless audio transmission device (50) and a plurality of wireless audio receiving devices (100c1-100c3).

[0070] In particular, the wireless audio system (10d) may be equipped with a wireless audio transmission device (50) and a plurality of wireless audio receiving devices (100c1-100c3) based on a unicast method.

[0071] For example, when a wireless audio signal of a first channel to a third channel is output from a wireless audio transmission device (50), the wireless audio signal of the first channel may be transmitted to the first wireless audio receiving device (100c1) among a plurality of wireless audio receiving devices (100c1-100c3), the wireless audio signal of the second channel may be transmitted to the second wireless audio receiving device (100c2), and the wireless audio signal of the third channel may be transmitted to the third wireless audio receiving device (100c3).

[0072] In another example, when a wireless audio signal of the first to third channels is output from a wireless audio transmission device (50), the wireless audio signal of the first to third channels is transmitted to the first wireless audio receiving device (100c1) among a plurality of wireless audio receiving devices (100c1-100c3), the first wireless audio receiving device (100c1) outputs a wireless audio signal of the second to third channels, the wireless audio signal of the second channel is transmitted to the second wireless audio receiving device (100c2), and the wireless audio signal of the third channel can be transmitted to the third wireless audio receiving device (100c3).

[0073] Accordingly, it becomes possible to stably receive audio wirelessly and output sound even in complex wireless environments.

[0074] Meanwhile, each wireless audio receiving device (100c1-100c3) outputs a first sound based on a first audio signal wirelessly by means of a first communication standard of a first frequency band received from a first communication module (135a), but when the wireless environment is complex and the packet error rate of the first audio signal is greater than a predetermined value, it can output a second sound based on a second audio signal wirelessly by means of a second communication standard of a second frequency band received from a second communication module (135b). Accordingly, even when the wireless environment is complex, it is possible to stably receive audio wirelessly and output sound.

[0075] Meanwhile, each wireless audio receiving device (100c1-100c3) receives a beacon signal from the first wireless audio transmitting device (50a) every time a period (Pc) corresponding to the first active period (Pa) and the first inactive period (Pb) is received. During the first inactive period (Pb), if an additional device is searched for and a second beacon signal is received from the second wireless audio transmitting device (50b), a connection request command is transmitted to the second wireless audio transmitting device (50b). Based on the connection request command, while in a wireless connection based on ultra-wideband communication with the first wireless audio transmitting device (50a), an additional wireless connection based on ultra-wideband communication is established with the second wireless audio transmitting device (50b). Accordingly, frequency hopping in ultra-wideband communication can be performed using the beacon signal.

[0076] Next, FIG. 1e illustrates a wireless audio system (10e) according to another embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0077] Referring to the drawings, a wireless audio system (10e) according to another embodiment of the present disclosure may have a plurality of wireless audio receiving devices (100d1, 100d2).

[0078] In particular, the wireless audio system (10e) may be equipped with a plurality of wireless audio receiving devices (100d1, 100d2) based on a unicast method.

[0079] For example, when a wireless audio signal is output from the first wireless audio receiving device (100d1), the wireless audio signal can be transmitted to the second wireless audio receiving device (100d2).

[0080] Accordingly, it becomes possible to stably receive audio wirelessly and output sound even in complex wireless environments.

[0081] Meanwhile, each wireless audio receiving device (100d1, 100d2) outputs a first sound based on a first audio signal wirelessly by means of a first communication standard of a first frequency band received from a first communication module (135a), and when the wireless environment is complex and the packet error rate of the first audio signal is greater than a predetermined value, it can output a second sound based on a second audio signal wirelessly by means of a second communication standard of a second frequency band received from a second communication module (135b). Accordingly, even when the wireless environment is complex, it is possible to stably receive audio wirelessly and output sound.

[0082] Meanwhile, each wireless audio receiving device (100d1, 100d2) receives a beacon signal from the first wireless audio transmitting device (50a) every period (Pc) corresponding to the first active period (Pa) and the first inactive period (Pb). During the first inactive period (Pb), it searches for additional devices and, when it receives a second beacon signal from the second wireless audio transmitting device (50b), it transmits a connection request command to the second wireless audio transmitting device (50b). Based on the connection request command, it additionally establishes a wireless connection based on ultra-wideband communication with the second wireless audio transmitting device (50b) while in the ultra-wideband communication-based wireless connection with the first wireless audio transmitting device (50a). Accordingly, frequency hopping in ultra-wideband communication can be performed using the beacon signal.

[0083] Meanwhile, the wireless audio transmission device (50) shown in FIGS. 1a to 1e can be a mobile terminal, TV, monitor, tablet, home appliance, vehicle display device, etc.

[0090] For example, the communication device (135) can perform IR communication, Bluetooth communication, or WiFi communication, and thereby can exchange data with or transmit data to the paired wireless audio transmission device (50). In particular, it can receive an audio signal from the paired wireless audio transmission device (50).

[0091] Meanwhile, the communication device (135) may be equipped with a first communication module (135a) that receives a first audio signal wirelessly by a first communication standard of a first frequency band, and a second communication module (135b) that receives a second audio signal wirelessly by a second communication standard of a second frequency band larger than the first frequency band.

[0092] Meanwhile, the communication device (135) may further include a processor (135c) for signal processing or control of the first communication module (135a) and the second communication module (135b).

[0093] Meanwhile, the first communication module (135a) receives first signal data through the first channel (CH1) and separates and receives first audio data through the second channel (CH2), and the second communication module (135b) separates and receives second signal data and second audio data through the same channel (CHm).

[0094] Accordingly, even in complex wireless environments, it becomes possible to stably receive audio wirelessly and output sound. In addition, the first communication module (135a) and the second communication module (135b) can distinguish between signal data and audio data, thereby enabling stable wireless reception of audio and output of sound.

[0095] Meanwhile, the beacon signal received by the second communication module (135b) may include unicast information or broadcast information. Accordingly, it can operate by distinguishing between unicast and broadcast.

[0096] Meanwhile, the second communication module (135b) can transmit association request information to a wireless audio transmission device (50 or 100) and receive association response information from the wireless audio transmission device (50 or 100) when unicast information is included in the received beacon signal. Accordingly, it is possible to operate by distinguishing between unicast and broadcast.

[0097] Meanwhile, the second communication module (135b) can distinguish whether the received second audio signal is second signal data or second audio data based on identification information within the header. Accordingly, signal data and audio data can be distinguished, thereby enabling stable wireless reception of audio and output of sound.

[0098] Meanwhile, the second communication module (135b) can distinguish whether the received second audio signal is second signal data or second audio data based on identification information within the Media Access Control (MAC) header or Physical (PHY) header. Accordingly, signal data and audio data can be distinguished, thereby enabling stable wireless reception of audio and output of sound.

[0099] Meanwhile, when the second communication module (135b) receives the second signal data, it can extract encoding or decoding information of the second standard and, based on the extracted encoding or decoding information, receive the second audio data after the second signal data and set the playback time of the second audio data. Accordingly, the signal data and audio data can be distinguished, so that audio can be received wirelessly and sound can be output reliably.

[0100] The memory (140) may store a program for processing or controlling the processor (170) within the wireless audio receiving device (100), and may also perform the function of temporarily storing input or output data.

[0101] The sound output device (160) can output a processed audio signal from the processor (170) within the wireless audio receiving device (100).

[0102] Alternatively, the sound output device (160) can output guide information related to the operation of the wireless audio receiving device (100) as an audio signal.

[0103] Meanwhile, the sound output device (160) can output a first sound corresponding to a first audio signal from the first communication module (135a) or a second sound corresponding to a second audio signal from the second communication module (135b).

[0104] The processor (170) can control the operation of each unit within the wireless audio receiving device (100) to control the overall operation of the wireless audio receiving device (100).

[0105] Meanwhile, the processor (170) can perform signal processing for an audio signal received from the outside.

[0106] Meanwhile, the processor (170) can play an audio signal from the first communication module (135a) or the second communication module (135b).

[0107] Meanwhile, the processor (170) can play the second audio data based on the decoding information from the second communication module (135b) and the set playback time. Accordingly, the signal data and audio data can be distinguished, allowing the audio to be received wirelessly and sound to be output reliably.

[0108] Meanwhile, the input unit (185) may be equipped with a button for initializing or operating the wireless audio receiving device (100).

[0109] Meanwhile, the input unit (185) may be equipped with a microphone (187) for sound collection.

[0110] Meanwhile, the input unit (185) may be equipped with a camera (not shown) for taking images.

[0111] For example, as illustrated in FIG. 2a, the input unit (185) may be equipped with, in the drawing, a power key (185a) for turning the power on or off, an FF / REW key (185b) for going back or forward of the audio being played, a volume key (185c) for increasing or decreasing the volume, a pause / play key (185d) for playing or pausing the audio, etc.

[0112] The power supply unit (190) can supply power necessary for the operation of each component under the control of the processor (170).

[0113] In particular, the power supply unit (190) may be equipped with a battery (195) that stores and outputs DC power.

[0114] FIG. 2b is an example of an internal block diagram of a wireless audio transmission device of FIG. 1a to 1e.

[0115] Referring to the drawings, the wireless audio transmission device (50) may include a sensing unit (130b), a communication device (135b), a memory (140b), a sound output device (160b), a processor (170b), a display (180b), an input unit (185b), and a power supply unit (190b). When implemented in actual applications, these components may be configured such that two or more components are combined into one component or one component is subdivided into two or more components as needed.

[0116] The sensing unit (130b) may be equipped with an inertial sensor (131b). The inertial sensor may be equipped with an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a gravity sensor, etc. For example, the accelerometer, gyroscope, gravity sensor, etc. may be equipped with a 6-axis sensor.

[0117] The sensing unit (130b) can output motion information of the wireless audio transmission device (50), for example, motion information (acceleration information, angular velocity information) or position information based on the x, y, and z axes.

[0118] Meanwhile, the sensing unit (130b) may be equipped with a sensor for obtaining user body information. For example, it may be equipped with a blood pressure sensor, a brainwave sensor, etc.

[0119] Meanwhile, the communication device (135b) may provide an interface for communication with an external device. To this end, the communication device (135b) may include at least one of a mobile communication module (not shown), a wireless internet module (not shown), a short-range communication module (not shown), and a GPS module (not shown).

[0120] For example, the communication device (135b) can perform IR communication, Bluetooth communication, or WiFi communication, and thereby can exchange data with or transmit data to the paired wireless audio receiving device (100). In particular, it can transmit an audio signal to the paired wireless audio receiving device (100).

[0121] Meanwhile, the communication device (135b) may be equipped with a first communication module (135ab) that transmits a first audio signal wirelessly according to a first communication standard of a first frequency band, and a second communication module (135bb) that transmits a second audio signal wirelessly according to a second communication standard of a second frequency band (e.g., ultra-wideband) which is larger than the first frequency band.

[0122] Meanwhile, the second communication module (135bb) may be equipped with a PAN (Personal Area Network) coordinator (PNb) for ultra-wideband communication.

[0123] Meanwhile, the communication device (135b) may further include a processor (135cb) for signal processing or control of the first communication module (135ab) and the second communication module (135bb).

[0124] Meanwhile, the first communication module (135ab) transmits first signal data through the first channel (CH1b) and separates and transmits first audio data through the second channel (CH2), and the second communication module (135bb) separates and transmits second signal data and second audio data through the same channel (CHm).

[0125] Accordingly, audio signals can be transmitted wirelessly reliably even in complex wireless environments. In addition, the first communication module (135ab) and the second communication module (135bb) can distinguish between signal data and audio data, thereby enabling the stable transmission of audio signals wirelessly.

[0126] Meanwhile, the beacon signal transmitted from the second communication module (135bb) may include unicast information or broadcast information. Accordingly, it can operate by distinguishing between unicast and broadcast.

[0127] Meanwhile, the second communication module (135bb) can receive association request information from the wireless audio receiving device (100) and transmit association response information to the wireless audio receiving device (100) when unicast information is included in the transmitted beacon signal. Accordingly, it is possible to operate by distinguishing between unicast and broadcast.

[0128] Meanwhile, the second communication module (135bb) can distinguish whether the second audio signal being transmitted is second signal data or second audio data based on identification information within the header. Accordingly, signal data and audio data can be distinguished, thereby enabling stable wireless transmission of the audio signal.

[0129] Meanwhile, the second communication module (135bb) can distinguish whether the transmitted second audio signal is second signal data or second audio data based on identification information within the Media Access Control (MACb) header or Physical (PHYb) header. Accordingly, signal data and audio data can be distinguished, thereby enabling stable wireless transmission of the audio signal.

[0130] The memory (140b) may store a program for processing or controlling the processor (170b) within the wireless audio transmission device (50), and may also perform the function of temporarily storing input or output data.

[0131] The sound output device (160b) can output a processed audio signal from the processor (170b) in the wireless audio transmission device (50).

[0132] Alternatively, the sound output device (160b) can output guide information related to the operation of the wireless audio transmission device (50) as an audio signal.

[0133] The processor (170b) can control the operation of each unit within the wireless audio transmission device (50) to control the overall operation of the wireless audio transmission device (50).

[0134] Meanwhile, the processor (170b) can perform signal processing for audio signals received from the outside.

[0135] Meanwhile, the processor (170b) can control the operation of each unit based on data from the first communication module (135ab) or the second communication module (135bb).

[0136] The display (180b) may be equipped with an LDC, OLED, LED, or micro LED, etc.

[0137] Meanwhile, the input unit (185b) may be equipped with a button for initializing or operating the wireless audio transmission device (50).

[0138] Meanwhile, the input section (185b) may be equipped with a microphone (187b) for sound collection.

[0139] Meanwhile, the input unit (185b) may be equipped with a camera (not shown) for taking images.

[0140] For example, as illustrated in FIG. 2b, the input unit (185b) may be equipped with, in the drawing, a power key (185ab) for turning the power on or off, an FF / REW key (185bb) for going back or forward of the audio being played, a volume key (185cb) for increasing or decreasing the volume, a pause / play key (185db) for playing or pausing the audio, etc.

[0141] The power supply unit (190b) can supply power required for the operation of each component under the control of the processor (170b).

[0142] In particular, the power supply unit (190b) may be equipped with a battery (195b) that stores and outputs DC power.

[0143] FIGS. 3a to 8b are drawings referenced in the description of the operation of a wireless audio receiving device or a wireless audio transmitting device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0144] FIG. 3a illustrates the output of a first signal data (Sa1) and a first audio data (Sa2) from a wireless audio transmission device (50) to a wireless audio receiving device (100).

[0145] Referring to the drawing, the wireless audio transmission device (50) outputs the first signal data (Sa1) and the first audio data (Sa2) wirelessly according to the first communication standard of the first frequency band.

[0146] In particular, the wireless audio transmission device (50) can transmit a first signal data (Sa1) through a first channel (CH1) and transmit a first audio data (Sa2) separately through a second channel (CH2).

[0147] Accordingly, a first communication module (135a) in a wireless audio receiving device (100) according to one embodiment of the present disclosure receives first signal data (Sa1) through a first channel (CH1) and separates and receives first audio data (Sa2) through a second channel (CH2).

[0148] FIG. 3b illustrates the output of a second signal data (Sb1) and a second audio data (Sb2) from a wireless audio transmission device (50) to a wireless audio receiving device (100).

[0149] Referring to the drawing, the wireless audio transmission device (50) outputs second signal data (Sb1) and second audio data (Sb2) wirelessly by means of a second communication standard of a second frequency band larger than the first frequency band.

[0150] In particular, the wireless audio transmission device (50) can distinguish and transmit the second signal data (Sb1) and the second audio data (Sb2) through the same channel (CHm).

[0151] Accordingly, a second communication module (135b) in a wireless audio receiving device (100) according to one embodiment of the present disclosure receives a second signal data (Sb1) and a second audio data (Sb2) separately through the same channel (CHm).

[0152] Meanwhile, the first communication standard may be a Bluetooth communication standard, and the second communication standard may be a UWB (Ultra-wideband) communication standard.

[0153] For example, a wireless audio transmission device (50) can transmit an audio signal wirelessly according to a first communication standard, and if the wireless environment is complex, it can transmit an audio signal wirelessly according to a second communication standard.

[0154] Accordingly, the wireless audio receiving device (100) can stably receive audio wirelessly and output sound even when the wireless environment is complex. In addition, the first communication module (135a) and the second communication module (135b) can distinguish between signal data and audio data, thereby stably receiving audio wirelessly and outputting sound.

[0155] Meanwhile, a first communication module (135a) according to one embodiment of the present disclosure transmits a first signal data (Sa1) through a first channel (CH1) and transmits a first audio data (Sa2) separately through a second channel (CH2), and a second communication module (135b) can transmit a second signal data (Sb1) and a second audio data (Sb2) separately through the same channel (CHm). Accordingly, audio can be transmitted wirelessly stably even in complex wireless environments. Additionally, signal data and audio data can be transmitted separately.

[0156] Meanwhile, the beacon signal transmitted from the second communication module (135b) within the wireless audio transmission device (50) may include unicast information or broadcast information. Accordingly, it can operate by distinguishing between unicast and broadcast.

[0157] Meanwhile, the second communication module (135b) within the wireless audio transmission device (50) can receive association request information from the wireless audio receiving device (100) when unicast information is included in the transmitted beacon signal, and can transmit association response information from the electronic device to the wireless audio receiving device (100). Accordingly, it is possible to operate by distinguishing between unicast and broadcast. In addition, it is possible to verify whether ultra-wideband (UWB) wireless audio support is possible and to transmit audio data wirelessly.

[0158] Meanwhile, the second communication module (135b) within the wireless audio transmission device (50) may add identification information within a Media Access Control (MAC) header or a Physical (PHY) header to distinguish whether the second audio signal being transmitted is the second signal data (Sb1) or the second audio data (Sb2). Accordingly, it is possible to operate by distinguishing between unicast and broadcast.

[0159] Meanwhile, when a first audio signal is transmitted from a first communication module (135a) within a wireless audio transmission device (50) and a second audio signal is transmitted from a second communication module (135b), the HCI (Host Control Interface) data of the first communication standard is mapped to the MLME (MAC Layer Management Entity) interface of the second communication standard, and the ACL (Asynchronous Connection-Less) data and audio data of the first communication standard can be mapped to the MCPS (MAC Common Part Sublayer) interface of the second communication standard. Accordingly, signal data and audio data can be distinguished, and audio can be transmitted wirelessly in a stable manner.

[0160] Meanwhile, when a first audio signal is transmitted from a first communication module (135a) within a wireless audio transmission device (50) and a second audio signal is transmitted from a second communication module (135b), data of the first communication standard can be mapped to data of the second communication standard using an adaptation layer (AL). Accordingly, signal data and audio data can be distinguished, thereby enabling stable wireless transmission of audio.

[0161] Meanwhile, when the second communication module (135b) within the wireless audio transmission device (50) transmits the second audio signal, the second signal data (Sb1) can be transmitted during the Contention Access Period (CAP) of the beacon period (PRa), and the second audio data (Sb2) can be transmitted during the Contention Free Period (CFP) of the beacon period (PRa). Accordingly, the signal data and audio data can be distinguished, thereby enabling stable wireless transmission of audio.

[0162] Meanwhile, the first communication module (135a) within the wireless audio transmission device (50) transmits the first signal data (Sa1) and transmits identification information within the first signal data (Sa1) to the second communication module (135b). The second communication module (135b) can distinguish and transmit the second signal data (Sb1) within the second audio signal based on the identification information from the first communication module (135a). Accordingly, the signal data and audio data can be distinguished, thereby enabling stable wireless transmission of audio.

[0163] Meanwhile, the first communication module (135a) within the wireless audio transmission device (50) transmits the first audio data (Sa2) and transmits identification information within the first audio data (Sa2) to the second communication module (135b). The second communication module (135b) can distinguish and transmit the second audio data (Sb2) within the second audio signal based on the identification information from the first communication module (135a). Accordingly, signal data and audio data can be distinguished, thereby enabling stable wireless transmission of audio.

[0164] Meanwhile, the second communication module (135b) within the wireless audio transmission device (50) can generate a key when it receives a security activation value from the wireless audio receiving device (100) and matches, and can encrypt and transmit the second audio data (Sb2) using the generated key. Accordingly, audio can be transmitted wirelessly reliably based on security.

[0165] FIG. 3c is a diagram illustrating the operation of the first communication module (135a) of the wireless audio transmission device (50) and the wireless audio receiving device (100).

[0166] Referring to the drawing, the wireless audio transmission device (50) wirelessly transmits beacon data at time To during the beacon interval (PRa), and the wireless audio receiving device (100) can wirelessly receive the beacon data.

[0167] Meanwhile, the wireless audio transmission device (50) can transmit signal data during the contention access period (CAP) of the beacon period (PRa) and transmit audio data during the contention free period (CFP) of the beacon period (PRa).

[0168] In particular, the drawing illustrates transmitting signal data between time T1 and time T3 within the Contention Access Period (CAP), and transmitting audio data between time T5 and time T7 within the Contention Free Period (CFP).

[0169] In response to this, the wireless audio receiving device (100) can receive signal data between time T2 and time T4 within the contention access period (CAP), and receive audio data between time T6 and time T8 within the contention free period (CFP).

[0170] That is, when the second communication module (135b) within the wireless audio receiving device (100) receives the second audio signal, it can receive the second signal data (Sb1) during the contention access period (CAP) of the beacon period (PRa) and receive the second audio data (Sb2) during the contention free period (CFP) of the beacon period (PRa). Accordingly, the signal data and audio data can be distinguished, so that audio can be received wirelessly and sound can be output reliably.

[0171] Figure 4 is a diagram illustrating the mapping between the first communication standard and the second communication standard.

[0172] Referring to the drawing, to provide a UWB audio service, which is an example of a second communication standard, Bluetooth audio, which is an example of a first communication standard optimized for audio services, is adopted as a higher protocol.

[0173] The Bluetooth Audio (BTA) interface consists of HCI Control, ACL Data, and Audio Data.

[0174] Meanwhile, the media access control or physical layer (MAC / PHY) (UMP) of UWB may have an MLME (MAC Layer Management Entity) interface and an MCPS (MAC Common Part Sublayer) interface.

[0175] Meanwhile, for mapping between Bluetooth audio (BTA) and the media access control or physical layer (MAC / PHY) (UMP) of UWB, embodiments of the present disclosure utilize an adaptation layer (AL).

[0176] The adaptation layer (AL) maps the Host Control Interface (HCI) data of the first communication standard to the MAC Layer Management Entity (MLME) interface of the second communication standard, and maps the Asynchronous Connection-Less (ACL) data and audio data of the first communication standard to the MAC Common Part Sublayer (MCPS) interface of the second communication standard.

[0177] Meanwhile, since UWB wireless transmission or UWB wireless reception utilizes a frequency band (3.1GHz to 10.6GHz) different from the unlicensed band (2.4GHz), frequency interference with other wireless devices using the unlicensed band can be avoided, and problems such as audio interruption can be resolved.

[0178] In addition, since UWB wireless transmission or reception provides a higher PHY data rate compared to Bluetooth wireless transmission or reception, high-quality audio services become possible.

[0179] Meanwhile, when receiving a first audio signal from the first communication module (135a) and then receiving a second audio signal from the second communication module (135b), the HCI (Host Control Interface) data of the first communication standard is mapped to the MLME (MAC Layer Management Entity) interface of the second communication standard, and the ACL (Asynchronous Connection-Less) data and audio data of the first communication standard can be mapped to the MCPS (MAC Common Part Sublayer) interface of the second communication standard. Accordingly, signal data and audio data can be distinguished, so that audio can be received wirelessly and sound can be output reliably.

[0180] Meanwhile, when receiving a first audio signal from the first communication module (135a) and then receiving a second audio signal from the second communication module (135b), the data of the first communication standard can be mapped to the data of the second communication standard using an adaptation layer (AL). Accordingly, signal data and audio data can be distinguished, allowing for stable wireless reception of audio and output of sound.

[0181] FIGS. 5A and FIGS. 5B are drawings illustrating the operation of a wireless audio transmission device.

[0182] Referring to the drawing, the signal data handler (SDH) in the Bluetooth audio (BTA) of the wireless audio transmission device (50) can define an identifier to distinguish between signal data and audio data by using the Vendor OUI Field of the UWB MAC Header.

[0183] FIG. 5a illustrates signal data (SDT) when the Vendor OUI is '1', and FIG. 5b illustrates audio data (ADT) when the Vendor OUI is '2'.

[0184] In particular, the Bluetooth audio (BTA) of the wireless audio transmission device (50) can transmit signal data (SDT) for codec and QoS configuration used in UWB audio services.

[0185] Meanwhile, when the wireless audio transmission device (50) transmits signal data (SDT) to the media access control or physical layer (MAC / PHY) (UMP) of the UWB, it can transmit by setting the Vendor OUI, which is the UWB MAC Header, to '1'.

[0186] Meanwhile, when the codec and QoS configuration are completed in the wireless audio receiving device (100), audio data from the audio codec is transmitted to the Bluetooth audio (BTA), and the Bluetooth audio (BTA) can transmit to the media access control or physical layer (MAC / PHY) of the UWB by setting the Vendor OUI, which is the UWB MAC Header, to '2'.

[0187] Additionally, the wireless audio transmission device (50) can transmit audio data to the wireless audio receiving device (100) via the media access control or physical layer (MAC / PHY) (UMP) of the UWB. Accordingly, even in complex wireless environments, audio can be reliably received wirelessly and sound can be output.

[0188] FIGS. 6a and FIGS. 6b are drawings illustrating the operation of a wireless audio receiving device.

[0189] Referring to the drawing, an identifier can be defined to distinguish between signal data and audio data of Bluetooth audio (BTA) through the MCPS interface of the wireless audio receiving device (100).

[0190] FIG. 6a illustrates signal data (SDR) when the Vendor OUI is '1', and FIG. 6b illustrates audio data (ADR) when the Vendor OUI is '2'.

[0191] When the media access control or physical layer (MAC / PHY) (UMP) of the UWB wireless audio receiving device (100) receives data in which the Vendor OUI, which is a UWB MAC Header, is set to '1', the Bluetooth audio (BTA) can move to the signal data handler (SDH).

[0192] In particular, the Bluetooth audio (BTA) of the wireless audio receiving device (100) can receive codec and QoS information used in UWB audio services through a signal data handler (SDH) and set information necessary for receiving audio data.

[0193] Meanwhile, when the codec and QoS configuration for the UWB audio service are completed, data with a Vendor OUI of '2' in the UWB MAC Header is received, and the Bluetooth Audio (BTA) can move to the Audio Data Handler (ADH).

[0194] Bluetooth Audio (BTA) sets the playback time for audio data received through the Audio Data Handler (ADH), and the audio data with the set playback time is transmitted to the audio codec. As a result, it becomes possible to reliably receive audio wirelessly and output sound even in complex wireless environments.

[0195] Figure 7 is a diagram referenced to explain UWB audio playback time synchronization.

[0196] Referring to the drawing, the wireless audio transmission device (50) can sequentially transmit first to fourth audio data (AD1~AD4) to each of the plurality of wireless audio receiving devices (100a1, 100a2).

[0197] In particular, the wireless audio transmission device (50) can sequentially transmit the first to fourth audio data (AD1~AD4) for each channel in the beacon section.

[0198] In the drawing, it is exemplified that at time K0, first audio data (AD1) is generated, transmitted to a first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) in the PRa2a section between time K1 and time K2, and transmitted to a second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) in the PRa2b section between time K2 and time K3.

[0199] Meanwhile, the PRa2a and PRa2b sections can each be configured by a plurality of wireless audio receiving devices (100a1, 100a2) that receive audio data.

[0200] Similarly, at time K3, second audio data (AD2) is generated and can be transmitted to the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) and the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) within the second beacon interval (PRb).

[0201] Similarly, at time K4, third audio data (AD3) is generated and can be transmitted to the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) and the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) within the third beacon interval (PRc).

[0202] Similarly, at time K6, fourth audio data (AD4) is generated and can be transmitted to the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) and the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) within the fourth beacon interval (PRd).

[0203] Meanwhile, in order to synchronize and play the first audio data (AD1) received in the first beacon section (PRa) on a plurality of wireless audio receiving devices (100a1, 100a2), it is preferable that the data is not played in the second beacon section (PRb) but is played at time K5 in the third beacon section (PRc).

[0204] In other words, after receiving audio data, it is desirable to play it in the beacon interval following that, rather than the next beacon interval.

[0205] Meanwhile, it is desirable that the interval (PRw) from the time when audio data reception is completed (K3) to the time when playback starts (K5) is longer than the length of the beacon interval. Accordingly, audio data can be played back with stable synchronization.

[0206] Meanwhile, after playing the first audio data (AD1) at time K5, it is preferable that the second audio data (AD2) be played at time K7, separated by the beacon interval. Accordingly, audio data can be played with stable synchronization.

[0207] FIGS. 8a and 8b illustrate a wireless audio system (10f) comprising an AP device (AP), a plurality of wireless audio transmission devices (50a to 50d), and a plurality of wireless audio receiving devices (100a1 to 100a6).

[0208] As shown in FIG. 8a, when audio is transmitted wirelessly between multiple wireless audio transmission devices (50a~50d) and multiple wireless audio receiving devices (100a1~100a6) using Bluetooth communication, which is the same first communication standard, audio data transmission becomes impossible due to frequency interference.

[0209] FIG. 8a illustrates that audio data transmission is impossible due to frequency interference between the third wireless audio transmission device (50c) and a plurality of wireless audio receiving devices (100a5 to 100a6).

[0210] To address this issue, embodiments of the present disclosure utilize a second communication standard having a larger frequency band and a larger bandwidth than the first communication standard. The second communication standard may be UWB.

[0211] As shown in FIG. 8b, in a complex wireless environment, among the multiple wireless audio transmission devices (50a~50d) and multiple wireless audio reception devices (100a1~100a6), it is preferable for the devices excluding the third wireless audio transmission device (50c) and the multiple wireless audio reception devices (100a5~100a6) to use Bluetooth communication, which is the first communication standard, and for the third wireless audio transmission device (50c) and the multiple wireless audio reception devices (100a5~100a6) to use UWB communication. Accordingly, stable transmission and reception of wireless audio data becomes possible even in a complex wireless environment.

[0212] Meanwhile, ultra-wideband (UWB) communication has characteristics of low frequency congestion and strong resistance to interference, so it can be suitable for situations with complex wireless environments.

[0213] Accordingly, UWB communication is used to detect indoor location positioning, but in this disclosure, it is used for audio services.

[0214] Meanwhile, UWB communication can be provided through standard specifications such as IEEE 802.15.4.

[0215] Figure 9a is a diagram illustrating a beacon section in ultra-wideband communication.

[0216] As shown in the drawing, according to the IEEE 802.15.4 standard for ultra-wideband (UWB) communication, the beacon period (BI) includes a first period (Pa) for transmitting a beacon signal, a second period (Pb) corresponding to a contention access period (CAP), a third period (Pc) corresponding to a contention free period (CFP), and an inactive period (Pd).

[0217] Meanwhile, the active period includes the first period (Pa), the second period (Pb), and the third period (Pc), and the active period may be named the Superframe Duration (SD).

[0218] Meanwhile, after the end of the beacon section (BI), the first section (Pa2) for transmitting the beacon signal (Beacon) is again placed in the additional beacon section (BI).

[0219] The wireless audio transmission device (50) can transmit audio data to the wireless audio receiving device (100) by using the beacon section (BI) of FIG. 9a through ultra-wideband communication.

[0220] Meanwhile, the wireless audio receiving device (100) can receive audio data from the wireless audio receiving device (100) by using the beacon section (BI) of FIG. 9a through ultra-wideband communication.

[0221] Meanwhile, in the non-active section compared to the active section, the wireless audio transmission device (50) and the wireless audio receiving device (100) operate at low power.

[0222] Figure 9b is a drawing referenced in the description of Figure 9a.

[0223] Referring to the drawing, Fig. 9b is similar to Fig. 9a, but only the active section of the beacon section (BI) is shown.

[0224] The beacon period (BI) includes a first period (Pa) for transmitting a beacon signal, a second period (Pb) corresponding to a contention access period (CAP), and a third period (Pc) corresponding to a contention free period (CFP).

[0225] Meanwhile, the second section (Pb) corresponds to a section for transmitting broadcast data.

[0226] Meanwhile, the third section (Pc) is a section for unicast data transmission and includes a guaranteed time slot.

[0227] According to the communication standard, in order to transmit unicast audio data in a unicast manner from a wireless audio transmission device (50), a wireless audio receiving device (100) must be connected to the wireless audio transmission device (50).

[0228] Meanwhile, in order to transmit unicast audio data in a unicast manner from a wireless audio transmission device (50), a PAN coordinator (PNb) in a communication device (135b) within the wireless audio transmission device (50) allocates a guaranteed time slot (GTS) and transmits information about the allocated guaranteed time slot (GTS) to a wireless audio receiving device (100).

[0229] In response to this, the wireless audio receiving device (100) receives unicast audio data through the guaranteed time slot (GTS) within the third interval (Pc) based on information regarding the allocated guaranteed time slot (GTS).

[0230] Meanwhile, according to the communication standard, in order to transmit broadcast audio data from the wireless audio transmission device (50), a plurality of wireless audio receiving devices (100) must be connected to the wireless audio transmission device (50).

[0231] Meanwhile, the PAN coordinator (PNb) in the communication device (135b) within the wireless audio transmission device (50) can check for an empty period during the contention access period in the second section (Pb) for transmitting broadcast audio data to multiple wireless audio receiving devices, and can allocate and transmit broadcast audio data during the empty period.

[0232] Alternatively, the communication device (135b) within the wireless audio transmission device (50) may transmit broadcast audio data to at least one unconnected wireless audio receiving device (100) by using a guaranteed time slot within a contention-free period during a beacon interval (BI) that includes a contention-free period, for the transmission of broadcast audio data to a plurality of wireless audio receiving devices.

[0233] FIG. 10a is a diagram illustrating an example of an audio-only transmission mode in ultra-wideband communication.

[0234] Referring to the drawing, in an audio-only transmission mode in ultra-wideband communication, a mobile terminal (600) can transmit unicast audio data to a wireless audio receiving device (100a).

[0235] At this time, the mobile terminal (600) transmits unicast audio data to a cradle device (200) that can charge a wireless audio receiving device (100a) by placing it inside, and the cradle device (200) can transmit unicast audio data to the wireless audio receiving device (100a).

[0236] At this time, ultra-wideband communication can be performed between the cradle device (200) and the wireless audio receiving device (100a).

[0237] Meanwhile, the mobile terminal (600) and the cradle device (200) can exchange audio data via ultra-wideband communication or other communication methods.

[0238] FIG. 10b is a diagram illustrating an example of an audio sharing mode in ultra-wideband communication.

[0239] Referring to the drawing, in an audio sharing mode in ultra-wideband communication, a mobile terminal (600) can transmit broadcast audio data to a plurality of wireless audio receiving devices (100a, 100m, 100n).

[0240] At this time, the mobile terminal (600) transmits audio data to a cradle device (200) that can accommodate and charge the first wireless audio receiving device (100a) among the plurality of wireless audio receiving devices (100a, 100m, 100n), and the cradle device (200) can transmit broadcast audio data to the plurality of wireless audio receiving devices (100a, 100m, 100n).

[0241] At this time, ultra-wideband communication can be performed between the cradle device (200) and a plurality of wireless audio receiving devices (100a, 100m, 100n).

[0242] Meanwhile, the mobile terminal (600) and the cradle device (200) can exchange audio data via ultra-wideband communication or other communication methods.

[0243] The audio data transmitted between the mobile terminal (600) and the cradle device (200) at this time may be unicast audio data or broadcast audio data.

[0244] For example, if the audio data transmitted between the mobile terminal (600) and the cradle device (200) is unicast audio data, the execution of the audio sharing mode is performed by the cradle device (200) rather than the mobile terminal (600).

[0245] As another example, if the audio data transmitted between the mobile terminal (600) and the cradle device (200) is broadcast audio data, the execution of the audio sharing mode is performed by both the mobile terminal (600) and the cradle device (200).

[0246] Figure 11 is a diagram illustrating the head effect of an audio receiving device.

[0247] Referring to the drawing, the wireless audio receiving device (100a) may include a first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) for receiving an audio signal of a first channel and a second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) for receiving an audio signal of a second channel.

[0248] Meanwhile, the wireless audio receiving device (100a) may be a wireless audio receiving device that can be worn by a user (USR).

[0249] Accordingly, the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) and the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) can be worn on the user's left ear and right ear, respectively.

[0250] Meanwhile, the audio signal of the first channel may be an audio signal for the left ear, and the audio signal of the second channel may be an audio signal for the right ear.

[0251] Meanwhile, in normal mode, a cradle device (200), which is an example of an audio transmission device (50), can wirelessly transmit an audio signal of a first channel and an audio signal of a second channel.

[0252] Meanwhile, when the cradle device (200) is positioned on one side of the user (USR), the size of the wireless signal during wireless transmission may be rapidly reduced by the head of the user (USR). This phenomenon can be named the head effect.

[0253] In particular, the signal strength of the second channel audio signal may be significantly reduced. Accordingly, the wireless signal reception by the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) may not be smooth, and problems such as the sound corresponding to the second channel audio signal not being output may occur.

[0254] Accordingly, the present disclosure proposes a method to eliminate such head effects. In particular, a method to eliminate head effects by using a relay mode rather than a normal mode is proposed.

[0255] Figure 12 is a diagram illustrating the relay mode of an audio receiving device.

[0256] Referring to the drawings, a cradle device (200), which is an example of an audio transmission device (50) according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, can wirelessly transmit an audio signal of a first channel and an audio signal of a second channel.

[0257] Meanwhile, a cradle device (200), which is an example of an audio transmission device (50) according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, receives a confirmation message from a first wireless audio receiving device (100a1), and if it does not receive a confirmation message from a second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) within a predetermined time, it can switch from a normal mode to a relay mode to transmit an audio signal to the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2).

[0258] For example, a cradle device (200), which is an example of an audio transmission device (50), can further transmit relay mode information indicating a relay mode when transmitting an audio signal of the second channel.

[0259] Meanwhile, the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) according to the embodiment of the present disclosure can transmit a confirmation message to the audio transmitting device (50) when receiving an audio signal of the first channel.

[0260] Meanwhile, the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) according to the embodiment of the present disclosure can switch from normal mode to relay mode when an audio signal of the second channel and relay mode information are received.

[0261] Accordingly, the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) transmits the audio signal of the second channel received or the audio signal processed based on the audio signal of the second channel to the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2).

[0262] Accordingly, the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) can stably receive the audio signal of the second channel or the audio signal processed based on the audio signal of the second channel according to the relay mode of FIG. 12, unlike the normal mode of FIG. 11.

[0263] In particular, in relay mode, the relay of audio signals can be rapidly performed through ultra-wideband communication without separate inter-device connection between the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) and the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2).

[0264] Ultimately, the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) and the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) are able to perform stable wireless audio playback through ultra-wideband communication.

[0265] Meanwhile, the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) can transmit data, such as a confirmation message, to the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) when receiving an audio signal of the second channel or an audio signal of the second channel, and the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can transmit the data received from the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) to a cradle device (200), which is an example of an audio transmission device (50).

[0266] Accordingly, stable data transmission via the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) becomes possible.

[0267] FIG. 13 is a flowchart illustrating a method of operation of a wireless audio receiving device according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0268] Referring to the drawing, in normal mode, the communication device (135b) within the audio transmission device (50) can transmit the audio signal of the first channel and the audio signal of the second channel.

[0269] In response to this, the communication device (135) within the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can receive an audio signal of the first channel from the audio transmitting device (50).

[0270] Meanwhile, the communication device (135) within the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can transmit a first confirmation message to the wireless audio transmitting device (50) after receiving an audio signal of the first channel from the audio transmitting device (50).

[0271] Meanwhile, the communication device (135b) within the audio transmission device (50) may additionally transmit an audio signal of the second channel or immediately enter a relay mode from normal mode when a first confirmation message is received from the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) within a predetermined time but a second confirmation message is not received from the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) within a predetermined time.

[0272] Meanwhile, the communication device (135b) within the audio transmission device (50) can transmit relay mode information when entering relay mode from normal mode.

[0273] Next, the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) among the wireless audio receiving devices (100a) can enter relay mode (S1410).

[0274] For example, the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can enter a relay mode based on relay mode information received from the audio transmitting device (50).

[0275] Meanwhile, the communication device (135) in the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) receives a second channel audio signal from the wireless audio transmitting device (50) according to the relay mode (S1415).

[0276] Meanwhile, the communication device (135) in the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) determines whether the destination of the received second channel audio signal is the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2), which is the counterpart device (S1420), and if so, determines whether it is the first relay mode (S1423).

[0277] Meanwhile, the communication device (135) in the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can transmit the audio signal of the second channel as is to the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) when in the first relay mode (S1425).

[0278] Accordingly, the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) can stably receive the audio signal of the second channel via the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1). Thus, the relay of the audio signal can be performed through ultra-wideband communication.

[0279] Meanwhile, in step 1420 (S1420), the communication device (135) in the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) determines whether it is in the second relay mode when the destination of the received second channel audio signal is the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) and not the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2), which is the counterpart device (S1432).

[0280] Meanwhile, the communication device (135) in the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can transmit an audio signal processed based on the audio signal of the second channel received in the second relay mode to the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) (S1430).

[0281] Accordingly, audio signal relay becomes possible via ultra-wideband communication. In particular, audio signal relay can be rapidly performed via ultra-wideband communication without the need for separate device connections. Furthermore, stable wireless audio playback becomes possible through ultra-wideband communication.

[0282] Meanwhile, the first relay mode is a relay mode based on the media access control layer, and the second relay mode may be a relay mode based on the application layer.

[0283] FIG. 14 is a flowchart illustrating a method of operation of a wireless audio transmission device according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0284] Referring to the drawing, in normal mode, the communication device (135b) within the audio transmission device (50) can transmit the audio signal of the first channel and the audio signal of the second channel.

[0285] Meanwhile, the communication device (135b) within the audio transmission device (50) may, if a first confirmation message is received from the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) within a predetermined time but a second confirmation message is not received from the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) within a predetermined time, additionally transmit an audio signal of the second channel or immediately enter a relay mode from normal mode (S1510).

[0286] For example, the communication device (135b) within the audio transmission device (50) can transmit relay mode information when entering relay mode from normal mode.

[0287] Next, the communication device (135b) within the audio transmission device (50) can determine whether transmission of the audio signal of the second channel is required after entering the relay mode (S1512).

[0288] Meanwhile, the communication device (135b) within the audio transmission device (50) determines whether it is in the first relay mode when transmission of the second channel audio signal is required (S1520), and if it is in the first relay mode, sets the target address of the second channel audio signal to the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2), and can transmit the second channel audio signal including the set target address information (S1523).

[0289] In response to this, the communication device (135) within the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can receive the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) according to the first relay mode and transmit the audio signal of the second channel as is to the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2).

[0290] Meanwhile, in step 1520 (S1520), the communication device (135b) within the audio transmission device (50) determines whether it is in the second relay mode when it is not in the first relay mode (S1530), and if it is in the second relay mode, sets the target address of the audio signal of the second channel to the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) and can transmit the audio signal of the second channel including the set destination address information (S1533).

[0291] In response to this, the communication device (135) within the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can receive the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) according to the second relay mode and transmit an audio signal processed based on the received second channel audio signal to the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2).

[0292] Accordingly, audio signal relay becomes possible via ultra-wideband communication. In particular, audio signal relay can be rapidly performed via ultra-wideband communication without the need for separate device connections. Furthermore, stable wireless audio playback becomes possible through ultra-wideband communication.

[0293] Meanwhile, the communication device (135b) within the audio transmission device (50) can be controlled to perform a first relay mode or a second relay mode among relay modes depending on the sound quality or amount of data.

[0294] For example, the communication device (135b) within the audio transmission device (50) can be controlled to perform a first relay mode when the sound quality is of low quality, which is below a first reference value, or when the amount of transmitted data is below a second reference value.

[0295] As another example, the communication device (135b) within the audio transmission device (50) can be controlled to perform a second relay mode when the sound quality is high quality exceeding a first threshold or when the amount of transmitted data exceeds a second threshold.

[0296] Meanwhile, the communication device (135b) within the audio transmission device (50) can include the first relay mode information in the ultra-wideband communication-based media access control layer when the first relay mode is active.

[0297] In response to this, the communication device (135) within the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can extract first relay mode information based on data within the media access control layer of the received signal.

[0298] Meanwhile, the communication device (135b) within the audio transmission device (50) can include the second relay mode information in the application layer based on ultra-wideband communication when the second relay mode is active.

[0299] In response to this, the communication device (135) within the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can extract second relay mode information based on data within the application layer of the received signal.

[0300] Meanwhile, according to the specifications of ultra-wideband communication, the communication device (135) within the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can extract the first relay mode information before the second relay mode information.

[0301] Meanwhile, the communication device (135b) within the audio transmission device (50) may include the first relay mode information or the second relay mode information within the header based on ultra-wideband communication.

[0302] FIGS. 15a to 16e are drawings referenced in the description of FIG. 13 or FIG. 14.

[0303] FIG. 15a illustrates a beacon frame (1210) within a beacon signal of ultra-wideband communication.

[0304] Referring to the drawing, the beacon frame (1210) of (a) in FIG. 15a includes a frame control, a sequence number, an addressing field, an auxiliary security header, a superframe specification, guaranteed time slot information, a pending address, a beacon payload, etc.

[0305] FIG. 15b illustrates a MAC frame (1250) of ultra-wideband communication.

[0306] Referring to the drawing, the MAC frame (1250) includes a frame control, a sequence number, a destination PAN ID, a destination address (1252), a source PAN ID, a source address, an auxiliary security header, an IE, a frame payload (1354), etc.

[0307] The destination address (1252) may include address information of the wireless audio receiving device (100a) to be connected.

[0308] For example, if the destination address (1252) is '0x1234', it represents the address information of the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) of the wireless audio receiving device (100a), and if the destination address (1252) is '0x4567', it represents the address information of the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) of the wireless audio receiving device (100a).

[0309] Meanwhile, the destination address (1252) may be the address information of the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) that has a poor wireless connection status in the case of the first relay mode.

[0310] Meanwhile, the destination address (1252) may be the address information of the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) with good wireless connection status in the case of the second relay mode.

[0311] The frame payload (1254) may include audio data of the corresponding channel to the connected wireless audio receiving device (100a).

[0312] For example, in the case of the audio signal of the first channel in normal mode, the frame payload (1354) may have audio data for the left channel.

[0313] As another example, in the case of a second channel audio signal in normal mode, the frame payload (1354) may have audio data for the right channel.

[0314] Meanwhile, in the case of the first relay mode or the second relay mode, the frame payload (1354) may have audio data for the right channel.

[0315] Meanwhile, the frame payload (1354) may include channel separator information for separating audio data by channel.

[0316] For example, in the case of audio sharing mode, the frame payload (1354) may include left channel audio data, separator information, and right channel audio data together.

[0317] Figure 15c illustrates the layer structure of ultra-wideband communication.

[0318] Referring to the drawing, the ultra-wideband communication-based data (1270) may include a physical layer (1272), a media access control (MAC) layer (1274) on the physical layer (1272), and an application layer (1276) on the media access control layer (1274).

[0319] Meanwhile, the communication device (135b) within the audio transmission device (50) may add first relay mode information to the media access control layer (1274) when the relay mode is the first relay mode, and add second relay mode information to the application layer (1276) when the relay mode is the second relay mode.

[0320] FIG. 16a illustrates a cradle device, which is an example of a wireless audio transmission device in normal mode, transmitting an audio signal of a first channel and an audio signal of a second channel.

[0321] Referring to the drawing, within the beacon section (BIa), the communication device (135b) in the cradle device (200) transmits the audio signal (DTa) of the first channel (S1102).

[0322] In response to this, the communication device (135) within the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) receives the audio signal (DTa) of the first channel from the wireless audio transmitting device (50).

[0323] Next, the communication device (135) within the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can transmit a first confirmation message (ACa) after receiving an audio signal (DTa) of the first channel (S1103).

[0324] In response to this, the communication device (135b) within the cradle device (200) can receive a first confirmation message (ACa) from the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) after transmitting the audio signal (DTa) of the first channel.

[0325] Next, the communication device (135b) in the cradle device (200) transmits a second channel audio signal (DTb) after receiving a first confirmation message (ACa) (S1105).

[0326] Meanwhile, if the communication device (135b) in the cradle device (200) fails to receive a confirmation message from the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) within a predetermined time, it may additionally transmit an audio signal (DTb2) of the second channel (S1106).

[0327] Meanwhile, in normal mode, due to the head effect described in FIG. 11, the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) may not be able to receive the audio signal of the second channel.

[0328] FIG. 16b illustrates a transition from normal mode to first relay mode.

[0329] Referring to the drawing, within the beacon section (BIa), the communication device (135b) in the cradle device (200), which is an example of a wireless audio transmission device (50), transmits the audio signal (DTa) of the first channel in normal mode (S1112).

[0330] In response to this, the communication device (135) within the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) receives the audio signal (DTa) of the first channel from the wireless audio transmitting device (50).

[0331] Next, the communication device (135) within the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can transmit a first confirmation message (ACa) after receiving an audio signal (DTa) of the first channel (S1113).

[0332] In response to this, the communication device (135b) within the cradle device (200) can receive a first confirmation message (ACa) from the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) after transmitting the audio signal (DTa) of the first channel.

[0333] Next, the communication device (135b) in the cradle device (200) transmits a second channel audio signal (DTb) after receiving a first confirmation message (ACa) (S1115).

[0334] Meanwhile, if the communication device (135b) in the cradle device (200) fails to receive a confirmation message from the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) within a predetermined time, it may additionally transmit an audio signal (DTb2) of the second channel (S1116).

[0335] Meanwhile, the communication device (135b) within the cradle device (200) may additionally switch from normal mode to relay mode if it fails to receive a confirmation message from the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) within a predetermined time after transmitting the audio signal (DTb2) of the second channel.

[0336] Meanwhile, the communication device (135b) in the cradle device (200) enters relay mode and transmits the second channel audio signal (DTb3) to the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) (S1117).

[0337] Meanwhile, the communication device (135) in the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) receives a second channel audio signal (DTb3) from the cradle device (200) according to the relay mode, and transmits the second channel audio signal (DTb3) or an audio signal processed based on the second channel audio signal (DTb3) to the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2).

[0338] Meanwhile, the drawing illustrates the execution of the first relay mode among the relay modes.

[0339] That is, the communication device (135) within the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can transmit the audio signal (DTb3) of the second channel received as is to the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) when the first relay mode is in relay mode (S1118).

[0340] In response to this, the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) is able to reliably receive the second channel audio signal (DTb3) from the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1).

[0341] Accordingly, audio signal relay becomes possible via ultra-wideband communication. In particular, audio signal relay can be performed rapidly via ultra-wideband communication without the need for separate device connections.

[0342] Meanwhile, in relay mode, the sound output device (160) of the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) outputs a first sound corresponding to the audio signal (DTa) of the first channel, and the sound output device of the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) outputs a second sound corresponding to the audio signal (DTb3) of the second channel. Consequently, stable wireless audio playback can be performed through ultra-wideband communication.

[0343] Meanwhile, the communication device (135b) within the cradle device (200) can set the destination address of the audio signal (DTb) of the second channel in relay mode to the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) or the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1).

[0344] For example, the communication device (135b) within the cradle device (200) can set the destination address of the audio signal (DTb) of the second channel to the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) when the first relay mode is in the relay mode.

[0345] Meanwhile, the communication device (135b) within the cradle device (200) may not receive a confirmation message within a predetermined time after transmitting the audio signal (DTb3) of the second channel to the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) when the relay mode is the first relay mode.

[0346] Meanwhile, the communication device (135b) within the cradle device (200) can further transmit relay mode information when transmitting the audio signal (DTb3) of the second channel.

[0347] In response to this, the communication device (135) within the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can transmit the second channel audio signal (DTb) as is to the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) or transmit an audio signal processed based on the second channel audio signal (DTb) to the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2), depending on the additional relay mode information when receiving the second channel audio signal (DTb3).

[0348] For example, the communication device (135b) within the cradle device (200) can further transmit the first relay mode information (INa) when transmitting the second channel audio signal (DTb3).

[0349] Specifically, the communication device (135b) within the cradle device (200) can transmit by adding first relay mode information (INa) within the media access control layer (1274) when the relay mode is the first relay mode.

[0350] In response to this, the communication device (135) within the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can extract the first relay mode information (INa) within the media access control layer (1274).

[0351] And, in the case of the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1), the communication device (135) can transmit the audio signal (DTb3) of the second channel as is to the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) based on the data in the media access control layer (1274) when in the first relay mode. Accordingly, the relay of the audio signal can be performed through the first relay mode via ultra-wideband communication.

[0352] FIG. 16c illustrates a transition from normal mode to second relay mode.

[0353] Referring to the drawing, within the beacon section (BIa), the communication device (135b) in the cradle device (200) transmits the audio signal (DTa) of the first channel (S1302).

[0354] In response to this, the communication device (135) within the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) receives the audio signal (DTa) of the first channel from the wireless audio transmitting device (50).

[0355] Next, the communication device (135) within the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can transmit a first confirmation message (ACa) after receiving an audio signal (DTa) of the first channel (S1303).

[0356] In response to this, the communication device (135b) within the cradle device (200) can receive a first confirmation message (ACa) from the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) after transmitting the audio signal (DTa) of the first channel.

[0357] Next, the communication device (135b) in the cradle device (200) can transmit a second channel audio signal (DTb) after receiving a first confirmation message (ACa) (S1305).

[0358] At this time, the communication device (135b) within the cradle device (200) can enter the second relay mode in the relay mode based on the wireless network status or key input with the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) and transmit the audio signal (DTb) of the second channel.

[0359] Meanwhile, the communication device (135b) within the cradle device (200) can set the destination address of the audio signal (DTb) of the second channel to the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) when the second relay mode is in the relay mode.

[0360] Meanwhile, the communication device (135b) within the cradle device (200) can add second relay mode information (INb) within the application layer (1276) when the second relay mode is in the relay mode.

[0361] In response to this, the communication device (135) within the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can extract second relay mode information (INb) within the application layer (1276).

[0362] Meanwhile, the communication device (135) within the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can transmit a second confirmation message (ACb) to the wireless audio transmitting device (50) after receiving the audio signal (DTb) of the second channel in the second relay mode (S1306).

[0363] In response to this, the communication device (135b) within the cradle device (200) can receive a second confirmation message (ACb) after transmitting a second channel audio signal (DTb) to the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) when in the second relay mode.

[0364] Next, the communication device (135) within the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can perform signal processing based on the audio signal (DTb) of the second channel after transmitting the second confirmation message in the second relay mode (S1311).

[0365] And, the communication device (135) in the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can transmit the signal-processed audio signal (DTc) to the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) (S1313).

[0366] That is, the communication device (135) within the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can transmit an audio signal (DTc) processed based on the audio signal (DTb) of the second channel to the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) when the second relay mode is in the relay mode.

[0367] In response to this, the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) is able to reliably receive an audio signal (DTc) processed based on the second channel audio signal (DTb) from the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1).

[0368] Accordingly, audio signal relay becomes possible via ultra-wideband communication. In particular, audio signal relay can be performed rapidly via ultra-wideband communication without the need for separate device connections.

[0369] Meanwhile, in relay mode, the sound output device (160) of the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) outputs a first sound corresponding to the audio signal (DTa) of the first channel, and the sound output device of the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) outputs a second sound corresponding to the audio signal (DTc) processed based on the audio signal (DTb) of the second channel. Ultimately, stable wireless audio playback can be performed through ultra-wideband communication.

[0370] FIG. 16d illustrates an example of switching from normal mode to relay mode.

[0371] Referring to the drawing, within the beacon section (BIa), the communication device (135b) in the cradle device (200) transmits the audio signal (DTa) of the first channel (S1322).

[0372] In response to this, the communication device (135) within the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) receives the audio signal (DTa) of the first channel from the wireless audio transmitting device (50).

[0373] Next, the communication device (135) within the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can transmit a first confirmation message (ACa) after receiving an audio signal (DTa) of the first channel (S1323).

[0374] In response to this, the communication device (135b) within the cradle device (200) can receive a first confirmation message (ACa) from the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) after transmitting the audio signal (DTa) of the first channel.

[0375] Next, the communication device (135b) in the cradle device (200) can transmit a second channel audio signal (DTb) after receiving a first confirmation message (ACa) (S1325).

[0376] Meanwhile, the communication device (135b) within the cradle device (200) may not receive a confirmation message from the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) within a predetermined time.

[0377] At this time, the communication device (135) within the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can receive the audio signal (DTb) of the second channel through sniffing.

[0378] And, the communication device (135) in the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can transmit a second confirmation message (ACb) to the wireless audio transmitting device (50) after receiving the audio signal (DTb) of the second channel by sniffing (S1327).

[0379] That is, the communication device (135) in the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can transmit the audio signal (DTb) of the second channel or the audio signal (DTd) processed based on the audio signal (DTb) of the second channel to the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) according to the relay mode when receiving the audio signal (DTb) of the second channel by sniffing (S1329).

[0380] In the drawing, a communication device (135) within a first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) is illustrated as transmitting an audio signal (DTd) processed based on an audio signal (DTb) of a second channel to a second wireless audio receiving device (100a2).

[0381] In response to this, the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) is able to reliably receive an audio signal (DTo) processed based on the second channel audio signal (DTb) from the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1).

[0382] Accordingly, audio signal relay becomes possible via ultra-wideband communication. In particular, audio signal relay can be rapidly performed via ultra-wideband communication without the need for separate device connections. Furthermore, stable wireless audio playback becomes possible through ultra-wideband communication.

[0383] FIG. 16e is a diagram illustrating the operation between the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) and the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) in relay mode.

[0384] Referring to the drawing, the communication device (135b) within the cradle device (200) can periodically transmit a beacon signal (BSa).

[0385] And, the communication device (135b) in the cradle device (200) can transmit the audio signal of the first channel and the audio signal of the second channel after transmitting the beacon signal (BSa).

[0386] Meanwhile, the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) receives the beacon signal (BSa), but the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) may not receive the beacon signal (BSa).

[0387] Meanwhile, the communication device (135b) in the cradle device (200) receives a confirmation message from the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) within a predetermined time, but may not receive a confirmation message from the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) within a predetermined time.

[0388] Accordingly, the communication device (135b) in the cradle device (200) can switch from normal mode to relay mode.

[0389] Meanwhile, in relay mode, the communication device (135) within the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can receive an audio signal of the second channel and generate a reference signal (REa) that includes offset information spaced apart from the beacon signal (BSa) by a certain interval (Tfx).

[0390] And, when transmitting a second channel audio signal to a second wireless audio receiving device (100a1), the communication device (135) within the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) can also transmit a reference signal (REa) containing offset information spaced apart from the beacon signal (BSa) by a certain interval (Tfx).

[0391] For example, when the communication device (135) within the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) transmits the audio signal of the second channel as is to the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) according to the first relay mode, it may also transmit a reference signal (REa) containing offset information spaced apart from the beacon signal (BSa) by a certain interval (Tfx). Accordingly, the relay of the audio signal can be performed through ultra-wideband communication.

[0392] As another example, when a communication device (135) within a first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) transmits an audio signal processed based on an audio signal of a second channel to a second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) according to a second relay mode, it may also transmit a reference signal (REa) containing offset information spaced apart from a beacon signal (BSa) by a certain interval (Tfx).

[0393] Accordingly, the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) receives from the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) an audio signal of the second channel or an audio signal processed based on the audio signal of the second channel, and can output a sound corresponding to the audio signal of the second channel or the audio signal processed based on the audio signal of the second channel based on a reference signal (REb) received together.

[0394] Accordingly, the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) can stably output sound by synchronizing with the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) or the cradle device (200), even if it does not receive a beacon signal.

[0395] Meanwhile, FIGS. 16a to 16e illustrate a cradle device (200) as an example of a wireless audio transmission device (50), but are not limited thereto, and a mobile terminal (600) is also possible as another example of a wireless audio transmission device (50).

[0396] Meanwhile, FIGS. 16a to 16e illustrate wireless earphones as a first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) and a second wireless audio receiving device (100a2), but are not limited thereto, and the first wireless audio receiving device (100a1) and the second wireless audio receiving device (100a2) may be wireless audio receiving devices of each channel such as FIGS. 1c to 1d.
