Description

Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to fermented feed for livestock and a method for manufacturing the same. Background Technology

[0002] Livestock and the products derived from them (meat, milk, eggs, etc.) are important sources of protein, a nutrient essential for human survival. Therefore, the health and quality of livestock are directly related to human health. Meanwhile, the quality and composition of the feed consumed by livestock directly affect not only the health status of the animals but also the final products.

[0003] Traditionally, corn, soybean meal, sesame, barley, and rice straw have been primarily used as livestock feed; however, recently, the use of materials such as peanuts, peas, sugar beets, pulp, grain byproducts, animal offal meal, and fish meal has significantly increased. Despite the advantages of these feeds being nutritious and containing large amounts of protein, they have limitations because they contain a large amount of solid protein, making them difficult for livestock to digest. This results in low intake rates and causes intestinal problems. These issues with feed digestibility and absorption directly lead to a decline in the health and quality of the livestock. Furthermore, undigested feed excreted from the body causes severe odors due to high concentrations of ammonia and hydrogen sulfide. Prior art literature

[0095] [Experimental Example 1] Measurement of Weight Gain

[0096] Sixty 3-month-old male calves were divided into two barns, with 30 calves in each, and the above-prepared feed and commercial feed were fed to the calves in each barn for 80 days. As the rearing period progressed, the amount of feed was increased, and the same amount was fed to each group.

[0097] The weight at the time of entry and the weight at the time of shipment (after feeding for 90 days) were measured, and the results are shown in Table 4 below.

[0098] Manufacturing example pay group commercial feed feeding group Average weight (kg) when standing 84.5 84.6 Average weight at shipment (kg) 192.7 155.7 Average daily weight gain (kg / day) 1.2 0.79

[0099] As a result, it was confirmed that when the feed of the present invention was fed, the average daily weight gain was more than 40% higher compared to when commercially available feed was fed.

[0101] [Experimental Example 2] Confirmation of Odor Generation

[0102] For livestock barns fed with each feed, the concentrations of ammonia and hydrogen sulfide, which are representative odor components, were measured using a gas detector (ToxiRAE II, manufactured by RAE, USA), and the results are shown in Table 5 below.

[0103] Manufacturing example pay group commercial feed feeding group Ammonia (ppm) 1 27 Hydrogen sulfide (ppb) Not detected 298

[0104] As a result, large amounts of odor-causing substances were measured in livestock barns fed with conventional feed, whereas almost no odor-causing substances were measured in livestock barns fed with the feed of the present invention.
