Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a big data-based high-heat situation prediction transmission control system and method, and more specifically, to a high-heat situation prediction transmission control method and system that prevents the clutch temperature of a vehicle currently in motion from rising by utilizing accumulated information for each vehicle type and automatic transmission model during actual driving, and an automatic transmission vehicle including said system, in which, when the clutch temperature rises rapidly due to frequent shifting or kick-down low-gear shifting caused by traffic and driving conditions, road conditions, or driving tendencies, the driving conditions and shifting information of the vehicle type and automatic transmission model in which such high heat occurs are collected through a data server. Background Technology
[0003] Generally, an automatic transmission is a mechanical device designed to automatically obtain optimal torque conversion in accordance with the vehicle's driving speed and load. It is configured to change gear ratios by operating a shift solenoid and a shift clutch (hereinafter referred to as "clutch") under the control of a Transmission Control Unit (TCU), which outputs shift control commands based on the driver's request or the vehicle's driving condition.
[0004] The transmission control unit controlling the automatic transmission uses a transmission map (transmission pattern) established from the relationship between the accelerator pedal input and the vehicle speed to find the optimal gear ratio corresponding to the pedal input and the vehicle speed. It then sets that gear ratio as the target gear ratio, determines the target hydraulic pressure (solenoid duty value) for transitioning to the target gear ratio, and controls the transmission solenoid based on this.
[0005] When oil is supplied to the friction clutch involved in the target gear stage according to the operation of the shift solenoid, the friction clutch is operated to the engagement side, and the power transmitted from the torque converter is transmitted to the transmission gear section by the engagement of the friction clutch to achieve the target gear. When the engine RPM rises and the time for shifting is reached, the friction clutch is automatically operated by hydraulic pressure.
[0006] Here, the configuration of the friction clutch mounted inside the automatic transmission is as shown in Fig. 1.
[0007] In addition, when a friction clutch is operated by hydraulic pressure, slip occurs and heat is generated. At this time, if the amount of oil supplied to the friction clutch is less than the required level, or if there is a large fluctuation in torque such as a sudden kickdown shift, excessive slip occurs between the clutch friction elements (disc and plate), causing the clutch to overheat or, in severe cases, be damaged.
[0008] Accordingly, the prior art disclosed in the following patent documents filed and registered by the applicant provides a control method and system for protecting clutch friction elements of an automatic transmission, which predicts overheating of transmission clutches in real time based on various information collected from each part of the vehicle, and when overheating is predicted in a specific transmission clutch, protects the transmission clutch from overheating and resulting damage through a predetermined control (avoidance shifting, engine torque limiting, etc.).
[0009] However, this conventional technology has limitations in that it only provides a response measure for situations where a high-heat situation is imminent or has already occurred, as it operates a protection logic that avoids a shift request corresponding to a clutch in a high-heat situation by predicting the temperature of each clutch in real time. Furthermore, in order to predict overheating in real time, it is necessary to collect and obtain various information required for predicting the temperature of friction elements from various parts of the vehicle and continuously calculate temperature prediction values from these data in real time, which consumes a lot of resources and places a heavy load on the control processor. Additionally, in actual situations exposed to various traffic conditions or driving patterns, the reliability of the real-time prediction results may not be guaranteed. Prior art literature

[0051] Here, the data generation step may be performed when there is a request from a user or data server, and the data transmission and reception step may be performed when the vehicle's ignition switch is turned ON.
[0053] Preferably, the above step (a)
[0054] Step of receiving vehicle model information and transmission clutch information (s111, s112),
[0055] Step (s113) of determining the rotational speed of the clutch drum and clutch hub corresponding to the current rotational speed of the turbine from a clutch speed map established from the relationship between the turbine rotational speed of the torque converter and the clutch hub and clutch drum for each transmission clutch.
[0056] A step (s114) of determining the clutch engagement state through the rotational speed of the clutch drum and hub or the clutch signal determined above,
[0057] The method may include a step (s115) of calculating the clutch heat amount using a clutch heat amount map based on information regarding the transmission clutches and information necessary for predicting the friction element temperature.
[0059] Here, the step (s115) of calculating the clutch heat generation amount is
[0060] A step of determining the current rotational speed of the oil pump or the turbine rotational speed of the torque converter and the oil temperature, and the oil supply flow rate for each transmission clutch corresponding to the current gear stage using an oil flow map,
[0061] A step of determining the expected transmission torque for each transmission clutch using a clutch torque map in which the piston operating pressure derived from the target hydraulic pressure for each transmission clutch and the rotational inertia of the friction element are factors, and deriving the heat generation amount of the friction element for each transmission clutch using a heat generation amount map established from the relationship between the expected transmission torque for each transmission clutch and the relative speed between the clutch hub and the clutch drum.
[0062] The method may include a step of determining a clutch temperature corresponding to the oil supply flow rate for each clutch and the heat generation amount of the friction element for each transmission clutch using a friction element temperature map established from the relationship between the heat generation amount of the friction element for each transmission clutch and the oil supply flow rate for each transmission clutch.
[0063] Meanwhile, the step (s114) of determining the clutch engagement state through the rotational speed of the clutch drum and hub or the clutch signal determined above can diagnose the clutch engagement state in one of the following cases: when the absolute value of the difference in rotational speed between the clutch drum and the clutch hub is less than or equal to a certain value, when the clutch state signal corresponding to the current gear shift is OFF, or when the clutch state corresponding to the current gear shift is ON and the current turbine speed is within the applicable range of the turbine speed standard corresponding to the current gear stage.
[0064] In addition, the determination of whether slip has occurred in step (b) above may include a step of determining that slip has occurred when the calculated heat generation of the clutch is greater than or equal to a certain value and the clutch is not engaged, and a step of storing information on the clutch temperature, oil temperature, accelerator amount, vehicle speed, current gear and target gear, target hydraulic pressure per solenoid, and turbine speed at this point in time, and if it is determined that slip has occurred, a slip occurrence timer may be operated.
[0065] In addition, the method may include a step of determining that the slip has ended when the rotational speeds of the clutch drum and the clutch hub match in step (b), and a step of determining that the slip has ended completely when the slip has ended for a set time or longer. When the slip has ended completely in step (b), the method may include a step of calculating the temperature change between the slip start time and the slip end time, and storing information on the clutch temperature, oil temperature, accelerator amount, vehicle speed, current gear and target gear, target hydraulic pressure per solenoid, and turbine speed at the slip end time.
[0066] In addition, among the stored data on temperature change between the sleep start time and the sleep end time, only the top 3 data corresponding to the maximum temperature change amount can be transmitted to the data server.
[0067] Next, the big data information input from the data server to the transmission control unit in step (c) above is the information on the maximum temperature change amount for the current gear and the target gear, and the corresponding data.
[0068] Next, when a shift request is received in step (d) above, the method may include a step of reading current state information and comparing it with information corresponding to the maximum temperature change amount, and determining if it falls within a certain range that it is a high-heat shift situation; if the result of the determination is a high-heat shift situation, a step of determining whether the temperature rise exceeds the allowable temperature; if it exceeds the allowable temperature, and the shift request is a downshift request, a step of checking if there is another clutch within the allowable range; if there is no other clutch, a step of generating a shift prohibition and torque reduction request signal to control it; and if there is another clutch, a step of generating a new shift request signal to the clutch corresponding to the lowest gear among gears higher than the existing shift request gear to control it.
[0069] In addition, the above step (d) may include a step that allows shifting if the situation is not a high-heat shifting situation, or if the temperature does not exceed the allowable temperature even if it is a high-heat shifting situation.

[0077] Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0078] In describing the present invention, the terms used in the specification below are used merely to describe specific embodiments and are not intended to limit the invention. Singular expressions include plural expressions unless the context clearly indicates otherwise.
[0079] Furthermore, terms such as “comprising” or “having” in this specification are intended to specify the existence of the features, numbers, steps, actions, components, parts, or combinations thereof described in the specification, and should be understood as not precluding the existence or addition of one or more other features, numbers, steps, actions, components, parts, or combinations thereof.
[0080] Additionally, terms such as “part,” “unit,” and “module” described in the specification refer to a unit that processes at least one function or operation, and this may be implemented in hardware, software, or a combination of hardware and software.
[0082] The present invention relates to a transmission control system comprising a data storage unit; a transmission control unit (TCU); and a communication module that transmits and receives data to and from a data server outside the vehicle. Below, with reference to FIG. 2, we will first examine the system configuration of the big data-based high-heat situation prediction transmission control system of the present invention.
[0083] FIG. 2 is a block diagram schematically illustrating the system configuration of a transmission control system according to an embodiment of the present invention.
[0084] Referring to FIG. 2, a big data-based high-heat condition prediction transmission control system (1) according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a data storage unit (20) that stores information regarding a vehicle and transmission clutches and stores data generated by a transmission control unit (TCU); the transmission control unit (10) that performs transmission control using information regarding the transmission clutches and information necessary for predicting the temperature of friction elements; and a communication module (30) that wirelessly transmits data stored in the data storage unit to a data server (40) outside the vehicle and receives data from the data server.
[0085] Here, the transmission control unit (10) is configured with a plurality of processors programmed to calculate the clutch drum and clutch hub speeds to determine clutch state information, calculate heat generation amount using a clutch heat generation amount map based on information regarding the transmission clutches and information necessary for predicting the friction element temperature, determine whether slip has occurred, and if slip has occurred, store reference information at the time of slip start, and subsequently determine whether slip has ended, and if slip has ended, store reference information at the time of slip end in the data storage unit.
[0086] And the communication module (30) transmits reference information for the sleep start time and sleep end time stored in the data storage unit (20) to an external data server.
[0087] The above external data server may be a data server capable of processing data related to Vehicle Customer Relationship Management (VCRM), where VCRM is the application of the management technique Customer Relationship Management (CRM) to the automotive market, and the VCRM data server refers to a big data server that performs the function of collecting the status of vehicles already sold and providing big data to create new customer services through the collected data.
[0088] In addition, the transmission control unit (10) is configured to include a plurality of processors programmed to receive big data information related to clutch heating from the data server (40) through the communication module (20) and the data storage unit (30), determine a high-heat transmission situation based on the big data related to clutch heating when a transmission request is made, and generate a request for transmission permission or torque reduction depending on whether the temperature during heating is an allowable temperature.
[0089] Here, a plurality of processors included in the transmission control unit (10) may comprise: a clutch state diagnosis unit (12) that calculates the rotational speed of the clutch drum and clutch hub to identify clutch state information and calculates the clutch heat amount based on a clutch heat amount map based on information regarding the transmission clutches and information necessary for predicting the friction element temperature; a clutch slip determination unit (14) that determines whether slip occurs from the clutch state information and the derived heat amount, stores reference information at the time of slip start if slip occurs, then determines whether slip ends, and stores reference information for slip end if slip ends; a clutch heat determination unit (16) that determines a high-heat transmission situation based on big data information related to the clutch heat when there is a transmission request; and a heat prediction control unit (18) that controls by generating a transmission allowance request or a torque reduction request depending on whether the clutch temperature is an allowable temperature when heat is generated.
[0091] Preferably, the clutch state diagnostic unit (12) comprises the following steps: receiving vehicle model information and information regarding the transmission clutch from the data storage unit (20); determining the rotational speed of the clutch drum and clutch hub corresponding to the current turbine rotational speed from a clutch speed map established from the relationship between the turbine rotational speed of the torque converter and the clutch drum and clutch hub of each transmission clutch; determining whether the clutch is engaged through the determined rotational speed of the clutch drum and hub or the clutch signal; determining the current rotational speed of the oil pump or the turbine rotational speed of the torque converter and the oil temperature, and the oil supply flow rate of each transmission clutch corresponding to the current gear stage using an oil flow rate map; determining the expected transmission torque of each transmission clutch using a clutch torque map in which the piston operating pressure derived from the target hydraulic pressure of each transmission clutch and the rotational inertia of the friction element are factors; deriving the heat amount of the friction element of each transmission clutch using a heat amount map established from the relationship between the expected transmission torque of each transmission clutch and the relative speed of the clutch drum and clutch hub; and using the friction element temperature map established from the relationship between the heat amount of the friction element of each transmission clutch and the oil supply flow rate of each transmission clutch. The clutch condition is diagnosed through a process of determining the oil supply flow rate for each clutch and the clutch temperature corresponding to the amount of heat generated by the friction element for each transmission clutch.
[0092] In addition, the clutch state diagnosis unit (12) diagnoses the clutch engagement state in one of the following cases: when the absolute value of the difference in rotational speed between the clutch hub and the clutch drum is less than or equal to a certain value, when the clutch state signal corresponding to the current gear shift is OFF, or when the clutch state corresponding to the current gear shift is ON and the current turbine speed is within the applicable range of the turbine speed standard corresponding to the current gear stage.
[0093] Next, the clutch slip determination unit determines that slip has occurred if the heat generated by the clutch friction element derived from the clutch state diagnosis unit is greater than a certain value and the clutch is not engaged, and stores the clutch temperature, oil temperature, accelerator amount, vehicle speed, current gear and target gear, target hydraulic pressure per solenoid, and turbine speed information at the time of slip occurrence in the data storage unit.
[0094] In addition, the clutch slip determination unit operates a slip occurrence timer when it determines that the clutch is in a slip occurrence state.
[0095] And the above-mentioned clutch slip determination unit determines that the slip has ended when the rotational speeds of the clutch hub and the clutch drum match, and determines that the slip has ended completely only if the slip has been maintained for a set time or longer.
[0096] Determining that the slip has been maintained for longer than a set time to be considered a complete end of the slip is based on the operating time of the aforementioned set slip occurrence timer, and this is intended to prevent misjudging that the slip has ended due to a temporary matching of the rotational speeds of the clutch drum and the clutch hub.
[0097] In addition, the clutch slip determination unit calculates the amount of temperature change between the slip start time and the slip end time when it is determined that the slip has ended completely, and stores the clutch temperature, oil temperature, accelerator amount, vehicle speed, current gear and target gear, target hydraulic pressure per solenoid, and turbine speed information at the slip end time in the data storage unit.
[0098] And the clutch slip determination unit stores the data in the data storage unit only when the amount of temperature change between the slip start time and the slip end time is greater than the previously calculated amount of temperature change. Here, the data storage unit may be an EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory) located inside or outside the transmission control unit.
[0099] In addition, the communication module (30) may transmit only the data corresponding to the top 3 maximum temperature change amounts among the temperature change amount data between the sleep start time and the sleep end time stored in the data storage unit (20) to the data server (40).
[0100] Here, the communication module may be a TMU (Telematics Unit), and the TMU may be an electronic control module that performs remote control functions using a modem built into the vehicle or transmits and receives various information regarding vehicle operation or control by connecting to an external data server.
[0101] Meanwhile, the transmission control unit receives information on the maximum temperature change amount for the current gear and the target gear from the data server through the communication module and the data storage unit.
[0102] And when the above transmission control unit receives a transmission request, the clutch heat determination unit compares the current state information with the information corresponding to the maximum temperature change amount, and if it falls within a certain range, determines that it is a high-heat transmission situation.
[0103] In addition, the transmission control unit determines whether the allowable temperature is exceeded due to the temperature rise in the event of a high-heat transmission situation, and if it is exceeded, if the transmission request is a downshift request, it checks for other clutches within the allowable range; if there are no other clutches, it controls by generating a transmission prohibition and torque reduction request signal, and if there are other clutches, it controls by generating a new transmission request signal to the clutch corresponding to the lowest gear among the gears higher than the existing transmission request gear.
[0104] At this time, the above-mentioned transmission control unit may allow transmission when the situation is not one of high heat generation, or even when the situation is one of high heat generation, if the temperature does not exceed the allowable temperature.
[0106] Next, we will examine another embodiment of the big data-based high-heat situation prediction transmission control method, which is performed by the big data-based high-heat situation prediction transmission control system of an automatic transmission according to the embodiment of the present invention described above, with reference to FIGS. 3 to 5.
[0108] FIG. 3 is a flowchart schematically illustrating the control method of the present invention, FIG. 4 is a control flowchart illustrating the data generation step of the control method of the present invention, and FIG. 5 is a control flowchart illustrating the data transmission and reception step and the big data utilization step of the control method of the present invention.
[0110] Referring to FIGS. 3 to 5, a big data-based high-heat situation prediction speed control method according to another embodiment of the present invention is broadly composed of a data generation step, a data transmission and reception step, and a big data utilization step.
[0111] And the above data generation step comprises: (a) a step of determining the clutch state through the rotational speed of the clutch drum and clutch hub calculated based on information regarding the vehicle and transmission clutches, and calculating the heat amount from the clutch heat amount map; (b) a step of determining whether clutch slip has occurred and whether slip has ended through the determined clutch state and the calculated heat amount, and storing information on the start and end times of the slip;
[0112] The above data transmission and reception step includes (c) a step of transmitting information on the sleep start time and end time to a data server and receiving big data information at the transmission control unit; and
[0113] The above big data utilization step includes: (d) a step of determining from big data information whether a high-heat shifting situation is occurring when a shift request is received, and determining whether the allowable temperature is exceeded if heat is generated; and (e) a step of determining whether to downshift when the allowable temperature is exceeded, and accordingly requesting a new shift or a shift prohibition / torque reduction.
[0115] Here, the data generation step may be performed upon request from a user or a data server, and among steps (a) and (b) constituting the data generation step, only step (b) may be selectively performed or not performed only upon request from a user or a data server. Additionally, the data transmission and reception step may be performed when the vehicle's ignition switch is turned ON.
[0117] In addition, the above step (a) may be performed by including the steps of receiving vehicle model information and information about the transmission clutch (s111, s112), determining the rotational speed of the clutch drum and clutch hub for each transmission clutch corresponding to the current rotational speed of the turbine from a clutch speed map set from the relationship between the turbine rotational speed of the torque converter and the clutch hub and clutch drum for each transmission clutch (s113), determining the clutch engagement state through the determined rotational speed of the clutch drum and hub or the clutch signal (s114), and calculating the clutch heat amount by the clutch heat amount map based on the information about the transmission clutches and the information required for predicting the friction element temperature (s115).
[0119] Here, the step of calculating the clutch heat amount (s115) may be performed by including: determining the current oil pump rotational speed or torque converter turbine rotational speed and oil temperature, and the oil supply flow rate for each transmission clutch corresponding to the current gear stage using an oil flow rate map; determining the expected transmission torque for each transmission clutch using a clutch torque map with the piston operating pressure derived from the target hydraulic pressure for each transmission clutch and the rotational inertia of the friction element as factors; deriving the heat amount of the friction element for each transmission clutch using a heat amount map set from the relationship between the expected transmission torque for each transmission clutch and the relative speed between the clutch hub and the clutch drum; and determining the clutch temperature corresponding to the oil supply flow rate for each clutch and the heat amount of the friction element for each transmission clutch using a friction element temperature map set from the relationship between the heat amount of the friction element for each transmission clutch and the oil supply flow rate for each transmission clutch.
[0121] And the step (s114) of determining the clutch engagement state through the rotational speed of the clutch drum and hub or the clutch signal determined above can diagnose the clutch engagement state in one of the following cases: when the absolute value of the difference in rotational speed between the clutch drum and the clutch hub is less than or equal to a certain value, when the clutch state signal corresponding to the current gear shift is OFF, or when the clutch state corresponding to the current gear shift is ON and the current turbine speed is within the applicable range of the turbine speed standard corresponding to the current gear stage.
[0123] Next, the determination of whether slip has occurred in step (b) above may include a step (s120) of determining that slip has occurred when the calculated heat of the clutch is greater than or equal to a certain value and the clutch is not engaged, and a step (s130) of storing information on the clutch temperature, oil temperature, accelerator amount, vehicle speed, current gear and target gear, target hydraulic pressure per solenoid, and turbine speed at this point in time.
[0124] In addition, if it is determined that a sleep has occurred in step (b) above, a step of operating a sleep occurrence timer may be included.
[0125] Additionally, the method may include a step (S140) of determining that the slip is terminated when the rotational speeds of the clutch drum and the clutch hub match in step (b), and may include a step (S150) of determining that the slip is completely terminated only when the slip is maintained for a set time or longer.
[0126] Next, when it is determined that the slip has ended completely, the method may include a step (S160) of calculating the temperature change between the slip start time and the slip end time, and storing information on the clutch temperature, oil temperature, accelerator amount, vehicle speed, current gear and target gear, target hydraulic pressure per solenoid, and turbine speed at the slip end time.
[0127] Next, the method may include a step (s170) of selecting and storing target information to be transmitted to a data server, preferably, among the temperature change amount data between the sleep start time and the sleep end time, data corresponding to the top 3 maximum temperature change amounts may be selected and stored.
[0128] And the above steps can be repeated until the engine stops, and the information can be updated only when the maximum temperature change occurs.
[0129] Next, the data transmission and reception step and the big data utilization step will be explained with reference to Fig. 5.

[0133] And although not shown in the flowchart, the above current state information may be state information obtained by additionally performing step (a).
[0134] And if the above judgment result is a high-heat shift situation, a step (s340) of determining whether the temperature rise exceeds the allowable temperature is performed, and if it is determined in the step s340 that the temperature rise exceeds the allowable temperature, a step (s350) of determining whether the shift request is a downshift request is performed.
[0135] Subsequently, if a downshift request is made, a step (s360) of determining whether there is another clutch within the allowable temperature range is performed; if there is no other clutch, a step (s351) of controlling by generating a signal to prohibit shifting and reduce torque is performed; and if there is another clutch, a step (s370) of controlling by generating a new shift request signal to the clutch corresponding to the lowest gear among gears higher than the existing shift request gear can be performed.
[0136] Additionally, a step (s331) that allows shifting may be included in cases where there is no high-heat shifting situation, or even if there is a high-heat shifting situation, the heat temperature does not exceed the allowable temperature.
[0137] According to another embodiment of the present invention, an automatic transmission vehicle comprising the big data-based high-heat situation prediction transmission control system is configured.
[0139] According to the embodiment of the present invention described above, driving conditions and shifting information for each vehicle type and automatic transmission model in which high heat is generated are transmitted to a data server for collection, and big data from the data server is received and utilized during actual vehicle driving to control the clutch equipped in the automatic transmission of the vehicle so that it does not become high-heated, thereby preventing the cause of friction material burnout due to high-heat clutch conditions.
