Description

Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a door locking prevention device, and more specifically, to a door locking prevention device that allows a user to quickly open a door without external assistance by disengaging the door latch from the strike plate and strike box in a situation where a door that opens and closes on a door frame is abnormally locked and cannot be opened. Background Technology

[0003] Generally, interior doors of homes or public facilities (especially bathroom doors, toilet doors, etc.) are opened and closed through an interlocking structure of a latch formed on the door and a strike plate and strike box fixed to the door frame. When a user operates the handle, the latch is inserted into the door and disengages from the strike plate and strike box, and when the user stops operating the handle, the latch protrudes outward again and catches on the inner surface of the strike box, thereby closing the door.

[0004] However, this design frequently results in the door becoming locked from the inside and unable to open due to broken handles, malfunctions of the internal locking mechanism, or failure of the latch to return. Particularly in enclosed spaces like bathrooms, if this door locking occurs, the user inside becomes unable to open the door without external assistance, increasing the risk of fatal accidents such as entrapment, suffocation, or falls.

[0005] Previously, escape attempts were made by forcibly manipulating the strike plate or strike box using makeshift tools such as screwdrivers, cards, or wires, or in some cases, by forcibly breaking down the door. However, these methods are difficult for unskilled workers or the elderly to perform, and they also entail repair costs resulting from damage to the door or door frame. Therefore, there has been a continuous need for a safety device that is easy for anyone to use, does not damage the door structure, and can open the door immediately in the event of a malfunction.

[0006] In particular, due to the increase in single-person households and the elderly population in Korea, bathroom door locking incidents occurring in situations where it is difficult to call for rescue are recognized as a social problem. In fact, the number of emergency dispatches due to door locking reaches thousands annually, and the social cost incurred from the deployment of rescue personnel and equipment is substantial. [0030] FIG. 1 is a front view of a door overlock prevention device according to an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 2 is a rear view of a door overlock prevention device according to an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 3 is a drawing illustrating the structure of a door and a door frame on which a door overlock prevention device according to an embodiment of the present invention is installed, FIG. 4 is a drawing for explaining the process of installing a door overlock prevention device according to an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 5 is a drawing illustrating the state in which a door overlock prevention device according to an embodiment of the present invention is installed, FIG. 6 is a drawing illustrating the state in which a door overlock prevention device according to an embodiment of the present invention is installed, the door is closed, and a latch and a deformation part are inserted into a latch hole and a latch groove.

[0031] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 6, a door mislock prevention device (100) according to one embodiment of the present invention is installed on a door frame (DF) to prevent the door (D) from being mislocked.

[0032] Here, the door (D) may be provided with a latch (L) that protrudes outward or is inserted inward depending on the operation of the outer handle (F1) and the inner handle (F2).

[0033] Such a latch (L) can be protruded outward from the door (D) or inserted into the door (D) by means of a latch assembly (LA) that is linked with an outer handle (F1) and an inner handle (F2).

[0034] The latch assembly (LA) may have a configuration that includes a spring, a rod, and a cam mechanism to reciprocate the latch (L) according to the rotation of the handles (F1, F2). That is, when the handles (F1, F2) are rotated, the latch (L) retracts into the interior of the door (D), and when the rotation of the handle is released, the latch (L) can operate in such a way that it protrudes outward again by the elasticity of the spring.

[0035] Meanwhile, the door frame (DF) may be equipped with a strike plate (SP) and a strike box (SB).

[0036] The strike plate (SP) may have a latch hole (SP') formed through it into which a latch (L) protruding from the closed door (D) is inserted.

[0037] This strike plate (SP) is made of a plate-shaped metal material and includes a plate body with a latch hole (SP') formed therein, and can be fastened to the outer surface of a door frame (DF) to align the position where the latch (L) is inserted.

[0038] The strike box (SB) can be formed with an indentation so that a latch groove (SB') into which a latch (L) is inserted, which protrudes from the closed door (D) and is inserted into the latch hole (SP'), communicates with the latch hole (SP').

[0039] Such a strike box (SB) may have a structure that guides the insertion depth of the latch (L) and supports the latch (L) so that it is stably engaged on the inside of the strike plate (SP).

[0040] That is, when the door (D) is closed, the latch (L) passes through the latch hole (SP') of the strike plate (SP) and is inserted into the latch groove (SB') of the strike box (SB), so that the latch (L) is caught on the inner surface of the latch hole (SP') and the latch groove (SB'), thereby securing the door (D).

[0041] The strike plate (SP) and strike box (SB) described above can be fixed to the door frame (DF) by a piece (P).

[0042] At this time, when the handles (F1, F2) are operated, the latch (L) is inserted into the interior of the door (D) and disengaged from the latch hole (SP') and the latch groove (SB'), allowing the door (D) to be opened.

[0043] However, if the handle (F1, F2) malfunctions, the latch assembly (LA) malfunctions, or the latch (L) fails to return, the latch (L) remains engaged with the inner surface of the latch hole (SP') and the latch groove (SB'), which may result in a problem where the door (D) cannot be opened.

[0044] Meanwhile, the door (D) to which the door mislock prevention device (100) according to one embodiment of the present invention is applied may be a hinged door, and the door (D) may be rotated to open in a first direction toward the internal area that is opened and closed by the door (D), or the door (D) may be rotated to open in a second direction opposite to the first direction.

[0045] First, let's explain by assuming that the door (D) is rotated in the first direction to open.

[0046] Meanwhile, to solve this problem, the present invention installs a door overlocking prevention device (100) formed of a flexible material on a strike plate (SP), and when a user pulls the door overlocking prevention device (100), the deformation part (120) unfolds, thereby pushing out the latch (L) inserted into the latch hole (SP') and latch groove (SB'), causing the latch (L) to detach from the latch hole (SP') and latch groove (SB'), so that the door (D) can be opened.

[0047] To this end, the door overlock prevention device (100) according to one embodiment of the present invention may be formed in a strip shape having overall availability.

[0048] In addition, a door locking prevention device (100) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include an attachment part (110), a deformation part (120), and a traction part (130).

[0049] The attachment part (110) is attached to the strike plate (SP) and can form one end of the door lock prevention device (100).

[0050] Such an attachment part (110) can be attached to the strike plate (SP) between the outer area of the inner area that is opened and closed by the latch hole (SP') and the door (D) among the strike plates (SP).

[0051] Additionally, the attachment portion (110) can be attached while surrounding the strike plate (SP) between the latch hole (SP') and the outer area.

[0052] To this end, the attachment portion (110) may be provided with an adhesive member (S1) containing an adhesive so as to be attached to and fixed to the strike plate (SP).

[0053] At this time, the attachment part (110) can be fixed so that it does not fall off from the strike plate (SP) between the latch hole (SP') and the outer area even if the traction part (130) is pulled.

[0054] The deformation part (120) extends from the attachment part (110) and can form a break in the door locking prevention device (100).

[0055] Additionally, the deformation part (120) may be bent and positioned in at least a portion of the first space between the latch (L) inserted into the latch hole (SP') and the latch groove (SB') and the inner surface of the latch hole (SP'), and in the second space between the latch (L) and the inner surface of the latch groove (SB'), protruding from the closed door (D).

[0056] Specifically, the deformation part (120) can be positioned in the space between the latch (L) and the inner surface of the latch groove (SB') while the latch (L) is inserted into the latch hole (SP') of the strike plate (SP) and the latch groove (SB') of the strike box (SB).

[0057] This deformation part (120) is positioned such that at least a portion is in close contact with at least one of the outer surface of the latch (L) or the inner surface of the latch groove (SB'), and can be maintained in a constant tension state while the latch (L) is engaged with the latch groove (SB') of the strike box (SB).

[0058] The deformed part (120) is formed of a thin and flexible material (e.g., recycled PET sheet, synthetic resin sheet, rubber or silicone sheet) and can be inserted into the gap between the latch (L) and the latch groove (SB') and between the latch (L) and the latch hole (SP').

[0059] To this end, the deformation part (120) can be bent to correspond to the internal shape of the latch groove (SB').

[0060] Meanwhile, the remaining portion of the deformation part (120) extending from at least the portion described above may face the strike plate (SP).

[0061] At this time, the remaining portion of the deformation part (120) may be attached to the strike plate (SP) between the inner area that is opened and closed by the latch hole (SP') and the door (D) among the strike plates (SP).

[0062] To this end, the deformation part (120) may be provided with an adhesive member (S2) containing an adhesive so that the remaining part is attached to the strike plate (SP) but is released when a predetermined external force is applied in a direction away from the attachment part (110).

[0063] Meanwhile, the traction part (130) extends from the deformation part (120) and can form the other end of the door locking prevention device (100).

[0064] At this time, a portion of the traction part (130) may be attached to the side facing the interior area described above among the doors (D).

[0065] To this end, the traction part (130) may be provided with an adhesive member (S3) containing an adhesive so that a portion of it is attached to the door (D) but is released when a predetermined external force is applied in a direction away from the attachment part (110).

[0066] FIG. 7 is a drawing showing a state in which a door mislock prevention device according to an embodiment of the present invention is installed, and a traction part is pulled and a deformation part is unfolded so that the latch is disengaged from the latch hole and the latch groove, and FIG. 8 is a drawing showing a state in which a door mislock prevention device according to an embodiment of the present invention is installed and a mislocked door is opened.

[0067] Referring further to FIGS. 7 and 8, when the traction part (130) is pulled away from the attachment part (110), the deformation part (120) is unfolded so that the latch is disengaged from the latch hole (SP') and the latch groove (SB') by the deformation part (120).

[0068] At this time, the traction part (130) may have a first insertion hole (131) formed through it into which the user's finger is inserted.

[0069] Accordingly, the traction part (130) is formed so that a user can insert a finger and pull it, allowing the door locking prevention device (100) to be easily operated.

[0070] That is, the user can position themselves in the internal area described above, hook their finger into the first insertion hole (131), and pull the traction part (130) away from the attachment part (110) so that the bent deformation part (120) unfolds to the outside of the latch groove (SB'), that is, in the opposite direction to the protrusion direction of the latch (L), thereby performing the action of pushing the latch (L) out of the latch groove (SB').

[0071] Specifically, the traction portion (130) may be formed in a strip shape that extends integrally from the deformation portion (120), and a first insertion hole (131) into which a finger is inserted is formed through the tip portion.

[0072] The first insertion hole (131) has sufficient size and thickness to allow the user to pull it directly using a finger or a tool (e.g., a pen, a key, etc.), and has a sturdy structure so as not to tear even under the tensile force generated during pulling.

[0073] Through this, the deformation part (120) can be configured to open the door (D) by moving the latch (L) so that the latch (L) does not get caught in the latch groove (SB') and the latch hole (SP') by being unfolded by an external force transmitted from the traction part (130).

[0074] Through this, when the latch (L) is disengaged from the latch groove (SB') and the latch hole (SP'), the user can rotate the door (D) in the first direction to open the door (D).

[0075] As described above, the door (D) to which the door locking prevention device (100) according to one embodiment of the present invention is applied may be a hinged door, and the door (D) may be rotated to open in a first direction toward the internal area that is opened and closed by the door (D), or the door (D) may be rotated to open in a second direction opposite to the first direction.

[0076] In the following, the explanation will be based on the assumption that the door (D) is rotated in the second direction to open.

[0077] FIG. 9 is a drawing showing a state in which a door is opened and a door is mislocked, with a door mislock prevention device installed according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[0078] Referring to FIG. 9, in the same manner as when installed on the door frame (DF) of a door (D) that is rotated and opened in the second direction, the user can position themselves in the aforementioned inner area and hook their finger into the first insertion hole (131) and pull the traction part (130) away from the attachment part (110) so that the bent deformation part (120) unfolds to the outside of the latch groove (SB'), that is, in the opposite direction to the protrusion direction of the latch (L), thereby performing the action of pushing the latch (L) out of the latch groove (SB').

[0079] Afterward, when the user is disengaged from the latch groove (SB') and the latch hole (SP'), the user can rotate the door (D) in a second direction to open the door (D).

[0080] FIG. 10 is a perspective view of a door overlock prevention device according to another embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 11 is a side view of a door overlock prevention device according to another embodiment of the present invention.

[0081] Referring further to FIGS. 10 and FIGS. 11, a door overlock prevention device (100') according to another embodiment of the present invention further includes only a pressure strap (140) having a pressure projection (141) and a second insertion hole (142) formed therein compared to a door overlock prevention device (100) according to one embodiment of the present invention, so a repeated description is omitted.

[0082] The pressure strap (140) can be formed in a strip shape and has overall availability.

[0083] One end of the pressure strap (140) can be attached to and fixed to the attachment part (110).

[0084] Specifically, one end of the pressure strap (140) can be attached to an area of the attachment part (110) that is not attached to the strike plate (SP) and is exposed to the outside.

[0085] To this end, the pressure strap (140) may have an adhesive member containing an adhesive at one end so as to be attached to and fixed to the attachment part (110).

[0086] Meanwhile, the pressure strap (140) may have a pressure projection (141) formed on the opposite side of the face facing the part of the deformation portion (120) that is inserted into the latch groove (SB') in the middle, protruding in a direction toward the latch (L) of the closed door (D).

[0087] The pressure projection (141) may protrude from the closed door (D) and be positioned in the second space between the latch (L) inserted into the latch hole (SP') and the latch groove (SB') and the inner surface of the latch groove (SB').

[0088] Specifically, the latch groove (SB') may be a rectangular space, and the latch (L) may be formed as a three-dimensional shape with one surface formed as a curve. Accordingly, when the latch (L) is inserted into the latch groove (SB'), a second space, which is an empty space, may be formed between the latch (L) and the inner surface of the latch groove (SB').

[0089] At this time, at least a portion of the pressure projection (141) may be inserted into the latch groove (SB'). Additionally, the pressure projection (141) may be formed in a shape corresponding to the shape of the second space.

[0090] Specifically, according to one embodiment, the pressure projection (141) may be formed with a predetermined size and volume so as to be located only within the second space.

[0091] Accordingly, the pressure projection (141) according to one embodiment is formed so as not to fill the entire second space, so that the latch (L) can be inserted as deeply as possible into the latch groove (SB'), and when pulled, the latch (L) can be pushed outward within the remaining space to be removed from the latch groove (SB').

[0092] Additionally, according to another embodiment, the pressure projection (141) may be formed with the same shape, size, and volume as the second space.

[0093] Accordingly, the pressure projection (141) according to another embodiment completely fills the entire second space, so that when the deformation part (120) unfolds, uniform pressure is transmitted to the latch (L), allowing the latch (L) to be more reliably disengaged from the latch groove (SB').

[0094] In addition, according to another embodiment, the pressure projection (141) may be formed larger than the second space and may be formed so that a part of it protrudes from the second space when inserted into the second space.

[0095] Accordingly, the pressure projection (141) according to another embodiment is formed with a portion protruding from the second space, so that it can be directly contacted and pressed against the outer surface of the latch (L) even when the traction force is weak, thereby producing an immediate pushing effect, which allows the door in a locked state to be opened more quickly.

[0096] Meanwhile, the pressure strap (140) may have a second insertion hole (142) formed through it at the other end into which the user's finger is inserted.

[0097] Accordingly, the pressure strap (140) can be formed so that a user can insert their finger and pull it.

[0098] Accordingly, even if the user hooks their finger into the first insertion hole (131) and pulls the traction part (130) away from the attachment part (110), if the latch (L) is not detached from both the latch groove (SB') and the latch hole (SP') and remains hooked in one or more of the latch groove (SB') and the latch hole (SP'), the user can position themselves in the internal area described above, hook their finger into the second insertion hole (142), and pull the other end of the pressure strap (140) away from the attachment part (110), thereby causing the pressure projection (141) to push the outer surface of the latch (L) in a direction opposite to the protrusion direction of the latch (L), so that the latch (L) can be detached from the latch groove (SB') and the latch hole (SP').

[0099] As a result, if the latch (L) is not released from both the latch groove (SB') and the latch hole (SP') by only pulling the traction part (130), the other end of the pressure strap (140) is also pulled to release the latch (L) from both the latch groove (SB') and the latch hole (SP') through the pressure projection (141), thereby opening the door (D).

[0100] Meanwhile, the door overlock prevention device according to another embodiment of the present invention further includes only the pressure strap (140) included in the door overlock prevention device (100') according to another embodiment of the present invention compared to the door overlock prevention device (100) according to one embodiment of the present invention, and does not include the pressure projection (141), so a repeated description is omitted.

[0101] The door lock prevention device according to another embodiment of the present invention has a double release structure in which, when the latch (L) is partially disengaged by a primary pull through the traction part (130), the user additionally pulls the other end of the pressure strap (140) to completely push out the latch (L) so that it is completely separated from the latch groove (SB') and the latch hole (SP').

[0102] Accordingly, even if the user hooks their finger into the first insertion hole (131) and pulls the traction part (130) away from the attachment part (110), the latch (L) is not detached from both the latch groove (SB') and the latch hole (SP'), and is in a state where it is hooked into one or more of the latch groove (SB') and the latch hole (SP'), the user can position themselves in the inner area described above, hook their finger into the second insertion hole (142), and pull the other end of the pressure strap (140) away from the attachment part (110), thereby causing the pressure strap (140) to secondarily push the outer surface of the latch (L) in the opposite direction to the protrusion direction of the latch (L), so that the latch (L) is detached from the latch groove (SB') and the latch hole (SP').

[0103] Through this, the door mislock prevention device according to another embodiment of the present invention can improve both unlock reliability and ease of use by allowing the user to reliably open the door through additional operation even when the latch (L) is only partially disengaged.

[0104] The present invention has been described above with reference to preferred embodiments. Those skilled in the art will understand that the present invention can be implemented in modified forms without departing from the essential characteristics of the invention. Therefore, the disclosed embodiments should be considered in an illustrative rather than a restrictive sense. The scope of the invention is defined by the claims, not by the foregoing description, and all variations within the scope of the claims should be interpreted as being included in the invention.

[0105] As described above, although the present invention has been explained by limited embodiments and drawings, the present invention is not limited thereto, and it is obvious that various modifications and variations are possible within the scope of the technical spirit of the present invention and the equivalent scope of the claims described below by those skilled in the art to which the present invention belongs.
