Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a technology for protecting imaging devices used in a testbed environment, and more specifically, to a device for protecting expensive thermal and real-time imaging measurement equipment from extreme heat, flames, internal shock, and submersion environments, and a real-time monitoring system utilizing the same, so as to safely analyze thermal runaway phenomena and fire progression characteristics occurring during fire extinguishing experiments on various battery materials and products including lithium metal. Background Technology
[0002] In fields such as fire extinguishing experiments for battery materials and products, explosive handling experiments, high-temperature process monitoring, and disaster site surveillance, it is essential to quantitatively analyze the progression of phenomena through real-time temperature distribution measurement and video recording.
[0003] In particular, when thermal runaway occurs in battery materials such as lithium metal, high temperatures exceeding several hundred degrees and flames are instantaneously generated, and large amounts of moisture and corrosive gases are released during the extinguishing process.
[0004] In conventional technology, imaging devices such as thermal or visible light cameras have generally been installed by simply mounting them around the experimental site or using tripods or wall-mounting brackets. However, these methods have the following problems.
[0005] First, there is the issue of thermal vulnerability. Radiant heat, conductive heat, and high-temperature atmospheres generated in fire and thermal runaway environments are directly transferred to the camera body, lens, and internal electronic components, causing equipment damage, malfunction, or permanent failure. In particular, thermal imaging cameras containing precision optical systems are expensive equipment costing hundreds of thousands to tens of millions of won, so damage during experiments results in significant economic losses.
[0006] Second, there is the issue of vulnerability to moisture and corrosive environments. Fire extinguishing agents, water vapor, and corrosive chemicals released during fire suppression penetrate the camera, causing contamination of optical components and corrosion and short circuits on the circuit board. Conventional simple mounting methods do not provide separate protective measures against this, resulting in frequent equipment loss during experiments.
[0007] Third, there is the issue of vulnerability to physical shock. Physical shocks such as explosions, flying debris, and vibrations occurring during the experiment are directly applied to the imaging device, leading to misalignment of optical alignment and damage to mechanical parts. Furthermore, existing fixed or simply movable installation methods make rapid position adjustment difficult when changing the experimental layout.
[0008] Fourth, there is the issue of maintaining optical performance. If metal plates or ordinary glass are installed on the front of the device for protective purposes, problems such as reduced transmittance, reflection, and image distortion due to heat absorption occur, making precise temperature measurement impossible. In particular, for thermal imaging cameras, since light in the infrared wavelength range must pass through an optical window, severe signal attenuation occurs when ordinary materials are used.
[0009] Therefore, there has been a need for a movable protective structure that can effectively protect imaging devices from thermal, physical, and environmental hazards even in extreme environments, minimize optical performance degradation, and flexibly respond to changes in the experimental environment. [0036] Hereinafter, the protective structure of the imaging device and the monitoring system including it will be described with reference to the attached drawings.
[0037] FIG. 1 is a drawing for explaining a coupling structure in which a shooting device according to an embodiment of the present invention is accommodated in a mounting jig member inside a protective structure and is isolated and protected from the external environment; FIG. 2 is a side view for explaining the external structure of a protective structure for a shooting device according to an embodiment of the present invention; and FIG. 3 is a front view for explaining the external structure of a protective structure for a shooting device according to an embodiment of the present invention.
[0038] As illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 3, the protective structure (100) of the imaging device according to an embodiment of the present invention may have a structure for safely protecting the imaging device (200), which is an expensive precision measuring device, in a fire extinguishing test environment, such as a battery testbed, where extreme heat, flames, and moisture penetration occur frequently.
[0039] First, the main frame portion (110) constituting the outer bulkhead of the protective structure (100) includes a grid-type reinforcing material or a rib structure inside to absorb physical impact, and may be basically made of one or more of SUS304 material, Inconel alloy, Hastelloy and titanium alloy materials.
[0040] The main frame portion (110) of the protective structure (100) forms a multi-layer structure or a multi-layer waterproof structure in the form of an outer casing surrounding the imaging device (200), thereby physically blocking external high-temperature thermal radiation energy from being conducted into the internal accommodation space. Specifically, the main frame portion (110) employs a US304 and ceramic mixed insulation panel to not only defend against ultra-high temperature flames and physical fragment impacts of over 1000°C but also provide a constant temperature space to prevent internal precision electronic components and optical systems from undergoing thermal deformation. Specifically, the main support frame portion (110) includes a plurality of main support frames (111) that are interconnected in vertical and horizontal directions to form a three-dimensional space, and may further include separate reinforcing ribs (not shown) connected between the main support frames (111) to prevent internal impact.
[0041] The main support frame (110) is a corner skeleton forming a high-rigidity structure, which supports the camera, which is the shooting device (200), so that it does not shake, and prevents twisting of the entire enclosure so that the shooting device (200) can withstand the physical shock wave of thermal runaway.
[0042] The door member (120) is an opening and closing structure for access and maintenance of the internal shooting device (200), and is opened and closed by a hinge or sliding method, has a sealed packing structure and a waterproof / dustproof sealing structure, and can block the ingress of external heat and smoke during testing.
[0043] The optical transmission window (130) is an optical transmission part positioned at a location corresponding to the optical axis of the imaging device (200), and can secure the field of view of the camera lens of the imaging device (200), transmit infrared and visible light, and enable external observation while maintaining internal airtightness.
[0044] In particular, the material of the optical transmission window (130) may be any one of reinforced optical glass, sapphire glass, IR transmission window, or heat-resistant transparent ceramic.
[0045] The cable penetration section (140) is a cable for connecting power and data between the internal imaging device (200) and an external system, and can be connected by passing through power lines, transmission cables for transmitting video data, communication cables, etc. Specifically, the cable penetration section (140) may be equipped with a cable gland, a sealing member, a multi-seal structure, a waterproof connector, etc.
[0046] The internal receiving space (150) may be an isolation chamber space where the shooting device (200) is actually placed.
[0047] Additionally, a mounting jig member (160) is provided on the inner bottom surface of the protective structure (100) to prevent movement of the imaging device (200) and the support mount member (210), and the imaging device (200) is coupled and fixed onto the mounting jig member (160) via the support mount member (210), so that the optical axis of the imaging device (200) can be maintained at a fixed point of orientation without shaking even in situations such as gas explosions, internal pressure changes, and violent thermal runaway shocks occurring during a fire test.
[0048] The mounting jig member (160) is an internal base that secures the support mount member (210) inside the protective structure (100), and can lock the imaging device (200) and the support mount member (210) in the internal space without shaking by sliding or snap-fitting, and can include a vibration-insulating material to dampen the vibration shock wave generated during a fire explosion from reaching the imaging device (200).
[0049] This mounting jig member (160) may have a form combined with a one-touch lever or a magnetic fixing coupler. This allows the recording device (200) and the battery to be separated after the fire is ended (test ends).
[0050] Additionally, the mounting jig member (160) may have a vibration isolation mount or a three-axis vibration structure fused with a damper element made of silicone material.
[0051] A sloped waterproof cover (151) having a downward slope can be installed on the upper part of the protective structure (100) as described above. This sloped structure can prevent the risk of upper flooding by inducing the extinguishing water or moisture sprayed from the top during a fire extinguishing test to flow naturally toward the rear without accumulating on the surface.
[0052] Additionally, a heat-resistant composite panel (121) that seals the internal space in conjunction with the main support frame (111) may be placed on the side of the main support frame (111). Specifically, the heat-resistant composite panel (121) is a combination of SUS304 and ceramic fireproof material, which can block direct flame heat of 1000°C or higher from the outside from reaching the shooting device (200).
[0053] In addition, for flexible placement and repositioning of the protective structure (100), a plurality of lower movable wheel members (152) may be mounted at the bottom of the main support frame (111).
[0054] Additionally, a door member (120) can be connected to the upper front area of the protective structure (100) so that the lens unit of the internal shooting device (200) can be directed toward a subject in front, such that it can be opened and closed through a hinge structure or the like.
[0055] An optically transparent window (130) that transmits visible light and infrared spectra while minimizing optical attenuation can be embedded in the central part of the door member (120).
[0056] In addition, the lower region of the door member (120) is equipped with a heat-resistant composite panel (121) in which a SUS304 panel and a ceramic fire retardant are fused to defend against high-temperature direct flame heat, thereby allowing the interior of the protective structure (100) to be securely sealed.
[0057] The heat-resistant composite panel (121) described above may have a multilayer structure in which a zirconia (ZrO2) coating layer, a silica aerogel insulation pad, or a mica sheet is laminated.
[0058] The imaging device (200) installed inside the protective structure (100) can collect ultra-high resolution thermal image (temperature) measurement data of SXGA grade or higher, and can collect data for real-time quantitative analysis of fire characteristics through super IR function and low-light real image imaging, as well as safely sense the temperature matrix of the fire area in a non-contact manner.
[0059] Additionally, the shooting device (200) may have a structure in which a tripod-shaped support mount member (210) is attached to the lower part so that it can be mounted independently.
[0060] The support mount member (210) is a triangular structure coupled to the lower part of the body of the shooting device (200), and can not only primarily fix the height and monitoring angle of the shooting device (200), but also perform the role of a supporter that distributes the load and mediates the landing point when the equipment enters the protective structure (100).
[0061] If such a shooting device (200) is directly exposed to external impact or flame, there is a constant risk of thermal damage and flooding by fire extinguishing water, so it can be inserted and settled into the internal space of a protective structure (100) that completely isolates the entire shooting device (200) and support mount member (210) from the external environment.
[0062] Hereinafter, a monitoring system and method for quantitatively analyzing fire characteristics by mutually interacting with a remote integrated control server (300) and a protective structure (100) and a shooting device (200) housed therein according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 4 and 5.
[0063] FIG. 4 is a diagram illustrating a monitoring system in which a protective structure (100) and a shooting device (200) housed inside it interact with a remote integrated control server (300) to quantitatively analyze fire characteristics according to an embodiment of the present invention.
[0064] As illustrated in FIG. 4, the monitoring system according to an embodiment of the present invention may include a remote integrated control server (300) that collects and analyzes data related to real-time temperature distribution during a fire extinguishing experiment received from a high-precision measuring device (200) in a non-contact manner while the device is physically protected and the high-precision measuring device (200) is mounted in the internal chamber space (150) of a protective structure (100). At this time, the device (200) may be connected to the remote integrated control server (300) through a cable installed in a cable penetration part (140).
[0065] To this end, the imaging device (200) may include an infrared sensor module (210) that detects infrared energy emitted from an external subject and generates a temperature matrix, and a visible light sensor module (220) that captures a surrounding visible light area.
[0066] The infrared sensor module (210) performs a super IR resolution enhancement algorithm based on high resolution of SXGA or higher to identify the precise temperature gradient of the center of the fire, and the visible image sensor module (220) may include a dark area noise removal function to obtain a clear visible image even in an extreme fire laboratory with low illumination.
[0067] Raw data obtained from sensor modules (210, 220) is input into an image synthesis engine (230), and the image synthesis engine (230) can generate a precise fire progression characteristic analysis image by mutually mapping and synthesizing a thermal image spectrum display and a real image pixel matrix. At this time, the spatial information recording module (240) can synchronize the physical location or coordinate information of the testbed where the shooting is performed by mapping it to the metadata of the captured image in real time to ensure objectivity and reliability of the fire measurement data.
[0068] In addition, the shooting device (200) can supply overall power by having an independent power supply unit (250) made of a detachable structure for the maintenance efficiency and independent power management of the device.
[0069] Meanwhile, the final monitoring composite data and location information derived through the image composite engine (230) can be transmitted to the remote integrated control server (300) via the communication module (260) after passing through the waterproof bulkhead connector installed in the cable penetration part (140).
[0070] The remote integrated control server (300) can display quantitative values and composite images received from the shooting device (200) in real time and precisely analyze fire progression characteristics.
[0071] FIG. 5 is a flowchart illustrating the process of operation of a monitoring system according to an embodiment of the present invention.
[0072] Before explaining, the operation control process of the entire monitoring system according to an embodiment of the present invention receives radiant energy generated from an external fire testbed.
[0073] As illustrated in FIG. 5, first, an optical signal reception step is performed in which infrared radiation energy and an optical signal in the visible light region generated from thermal runaway and harsh environment during a fire extinguishing test of the battery are transmitted and received through an optical transmission window (130) provided on the front of the protective structure (100) with minimal attenuation (S410).
[0074] Subsequently, the imaging device (200) isolated and mounted in the internal receiving space (150) performs a raw data measurement and conversion step (S420) in which it processes the received signals by wavelength range and measures and converts them into independent raw data. At this time, the infrared wavelength signal is captured as real-time temperature distribution data information, and the visible light wavelength signal can be captured as surrounding physical shape information.
[0075] Meanwhile, in an embodiment of the present invention, the shooting device (200) may apply an active variable sampling technique that links the sampling rate to the rate of external temperature change during the process of analog-to-digital conversion (ADC) of data. Specifically, the shooting device (200) may include an adaptive frame rate control step that automatically controls the number of frames per second (FPS) to increase by more than double when the rate of temperature increase exceeds a threshold (e.g., 40°C to 50°C per second).
[0076] The imaging device (200) performs a software correction control step to improve the quality and precision of the captured raw data (S430). Specifically, for infrared data, the imaging device (200) maximizes pixel clarity by using a scanning module with a resolution of SXGA or higher and a super IR resolution enhancement processing module under the control of an image processor, and at the same time, for the visible light data channel, it can apply a low-light noise removal filtering algorithm to extract clear boundaries even in dark places to overcome the low-light or dark environment of the fire laboratory.
[0077] Meanwhile, in addition to the Super IR algorithm in the correction control stage, a Super-Resolution deep learning model using an artificial intelligence-based convolutional neural network (CNN) can be designed to be executed on the embedded computer chip to minimize structural limitations.
[0078] When the correction process is finished, the imaging device (200) performs a multidimensional data synthesis and information mapping step of heterogeneous image data and spatial characteristic data (S440). Specifically, the image synthesis engine (230) overlays and synthesizes a thermal image forming a quantitative temperature data map and a real image representing a physical contour in real time through geometric matrix matching, and simultaneously or sequentially extracts location coordinates or equipment number data of a specific laboratory performing the imaging through a spatial information recording module (240), and can combine and encode the identification information into the metadata and timestamp areas of the generated composite image.
[0079] Meanwhile, the synthesis technique can be diversified; that is, in addition to the simple translucent pixel blending method of thermal and visible images, synthesis can also be performed using a frequency domain division synthesis algorithm that extracts only high-frequency components (edges, boundaries) from the visible light image and combines them only with the luminance (Y) component of the thermal image channel.
[0080] Afterwards, the shooting device (200) performs a data transmission and storage step (S450) in which a data packet in which location information, quantitative temperature analysis values, and an overlay image frame are integrated is transmitted to and stored by a remote integrated control server (300) via a communication module and an external waterproof connector.

Claim 7 A monitoring system according to claim 6, wherein the above-mentioned imaging device comprises: an infrared sensor module that detects infrared energy radiated from an external subject to determine a precise temperature gradient; a visible light sensor module that captures an ambient visible light area including a dark area noise removal function; an image synthesis engine that generates an analysis image by mutually mapping and synthesizing raw data acquired from the infrared sensor module and the visible light sensor module; a spatial information recording module that extracts physical location or coordinate information of a testbed on which the imaging device is placed and synchronizes it in real-time with the metadata of the analysis image; and an independent power supply unit that is detachably coupled inside the protective structure to supply power. Claim 8 In claim 7, the monitoring system is characterized in that the image synthesis engine merges data by applying a frequency domain division synthesis algorithm that extracts high-frequency components, namely edges and boundaries, from a visible light image acquired from a visible light sensor module, and then combines them with the luminance (Y) component of a thermal image channel acquired from an infrared sensor module. Claim 9 A method for controlling fire monitoring operation using a monitoring system described in claim 6, comprising: a step of receiving infrared radiation energy and a visible light region optical signal of an external fire target through an optically transparent window provided on the front of the protective structure; a step in which the imaging device processes the received optical signal to measure and convert it into raw data of a thermal image channel and a visible image channel; a software correction control step in which an embedded processor of the imaging device performs pixel clarity enhancement and low-light noise removal of the raw data; a step in which an image synthesis engine overlays and synthesizes the corrected heterogeneous image data through geometric matrix matching and encodes spatial coordinate information into metadata; and a step of transmitting and storing the final synthesized data packet, in which the encoding is completed, to a remote integrated control server. Claim 10 A method for controlling the operation of a monitoring system according to claim 9, wherein the step of measuring and converting the raw data performs an adaptive frame rate control algorithm that increases the frame rate per second (FPS) of the camera when the temperature rise rate of the external fire target exceeds a preset threshold during the analog-to-digital conversion (ADC) of the data, and the software correction control step improves the resolution of the raw data by running a super-resolution deep learning model using an artificial intelligence-based convolutional neural network (CNN).
