Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a thermal barrier for a vehicle battery. Background Technology
[0003] Generally, vehicle batteries can experience thermal runaway due to complex factors, and thermal barriers for vehicle batteries are used to delay and prevent this. Thermal barriers for vehicle batteries can delay thermal runaway by absorbing heat from the vehicle battery and resolving electrical or chemical instability. The fire resistance performance of such thermal barriers for vehicle batteries varies significantly depending on the materials applied to the thermal barrier, the installation location, and the package configuration.
[0004] In particular, the space where thermal barriers for vehicle batteries are installed is very narrow, making it difficult to secure them with tape or the like, and consequently requiring a significant amount of labor. In addition, due to the characteristics of the material of the thermal barrier for vehicle batteries, bending is difficult, which causes a problem where the fire resistance performance of the thermal barrier for vehicle batteries is significantly reduced at the bent parts (corners) of the vehicle battery.
[0005] Registered Utility Model Publication No. 20-0492870 discloses a thermal insulation discharge prevention cover for a vehicle battery.
[0006] The thermal insulation discharge prevention cover for a vehicle battery disclosed in the same publication comprises: a box-shaped cover body configured to wrap the top surface or side of the battery to a certain depth, with an opening formed on the side in a portion corresponding to the electrode terminal so that the electrode terminal of the battery is exposed; and vertical coupling grooves formed at regular intervals on the top edge of the battery. The battery fixing module further comprises a fixing frame that crosses the center of the upper surface of the battery and a pair of screws that are bolted perpendicularly to both sides of the battery through fastening holes formed through both ends of the spatula-shaped fixing frame, wherein the ends of the screws are fixed to screw fastening holes formed on the inner bottom surface of the vehicle bonnet, and the position of the fixing frame is configured to be movable according to the position of the screw fastening hole formed through both ends of the vehicle bonnet, thereby fixing the battery to the inner bottom surface of the vehicle bonnet.
[0007] The aforementioned insulating discharge prevention cover for vehicle batteries has a box-like shape and occupies a large volume. Consequently, there is a problem in that storage is not easy. Prior art literature
