Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a photovoltaic module, specifically a photovoltaic color module or a color-variable photovoltaic module formed to allow for color replacement. Background Technology
[0002] Recently, in line with the carbon neutrality movement, various technologies are being utilized to realize zero-energy houses and reduce carbon emissions. Among these, solar power technology is a representative example, and in this regard, Building Attached PhotoVoltaic (BAPV) and Building Integrated PhotoVoltaic (BIPV) technologies, which involve attaching solar modules to building rooftops or exterior walls, are gaining significant attention. Building Integrated PhotoV (BIPV) modules are construction materials that replace traditional building exterior cladding, performing both the functions of exterior cladding and solar modules.
[0003] Silicon solar cells, which are the most widely used in the production of photovoltaic modules, are opaque and monochromatic, making it difficult to expect aesthetic effects when applied to buildings. To address this, methods have been developed such as attaching a colored PVB film (PolyVinyl Butyral Film) to protective glass or separately forming a colored film or color layer beneath an EVA film (Ethylene Vynyl Acetate Film). Recently, a technology has been introduced for use in building-integrated photovoltaic systems that inserts a patterned layer into the bottom of the glass. This allows for power generation in the light-transmitting areas and light reflection in the remaining areas, thereby producing color and concealing the underlying solar cells.
[0004] Color solar modules utilizing such technology are required to have high reliability, guaranteeing a lifespan of 20 to 25 years, just like standard solar modules, and it is generally difficult to replace them once installed. However, when color solar modules are used as building exterior materials, unlike standard solar modules, aesthetic purposes are prioritized, so it is necessary to be able to change the color or shape according to one's preference.
[0005] In particular, since road sound barriers and fence-type solar panels are often used for advertising purposes, the images or colors used must be replaced. Therefore, if the color of the modules could be easily changed, significant cost savings could be achieved compared to replacing the entire module. However, due to reliability issues, current color modules adopt a permanently fixed structure, making it nearly impossible to replace only the colored sections. While some patents have proposed methods combining solar modules with displays such as LCDs, these have not been widely commercialized. Consequently, there is a need to develop solar modules that allow for color replacement without reliability issues. Prior art literature

[0014] Specific embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the attached drawings. However, the concept of the present invention is not limited to the presented embodiments, and those skilled in the art who understand the concept of the present invention may easily propose other inventions that are inferior or other embodiments included within the scope of the concept of the present invention by adding, changing, or deleting other components within the same scope of the concept, and such are also to be considered to be included within the scope of the concept of the present invention.
[0016] FIG. 1 illustrates a solar module (1) that does not include a color layer.
[0017] A solar module (1) is formed around a solar cell (10) that receives sunlight and generates power, and an encapsulant (20) is formed to surround all sides of the solar cell (10) to seal it so that moisture or foreign substances cannot enter, thereby protecting the solar cell (10) from the outside. A surface layer (30) is added to one side of the encapsulant (20) to allow sunlight to pass through while protecting it from external impact. The surface layer (30) has a very high light transmittance so that the solar cell (10) located inside can generate power. Additionally, a back sheet (40) is formed on the opposite side of the surface layer (30) of the encapsulant. This serves to protect the solar cell (10) from impact and prevent external rainwater or foreign substances from entering.
[0018] A frame (50) for fixing the above layered structure from the side may be further included. Additionally, a wiring box (61) and a power line (62) may be further included to be connected to the back sheet (40) to allow power to be connected externally. Furthermore, all general configurations required for a solar module (1) may be included.
[0020] All embodiments described below include a description of the configuration of the solar module (1).
[0021] FIGS. 2 and FIGS. 3 illustrate solar modules (2a, 2b) formed by adding a color layer (70) integrally. FIG. 4 illustrates a case where the color layer (70) of a solar module (2c) formed by adding a color layer (70) integrally forms an optical pattern.
[0022] For aesthetic and commercial purposes, the solar modules (2a, 2b, 2c) further comprise a color layer (70). The color layer (70) may use a material of cyanine dyes containing at least one metal ion among magnesium (Mg), nickel (Ni), copper (Cu), cobalt (Co), zinc (Zn), chromium (Cr), platinum (Pt), palladium (Pd), and iron (Fe). Additionally, as shown in FIG. 2 and FIG. 3, the entire surface may be used as a continuous color layer (70). Alternatively, as shown in FIG. 4, a color-producing layer (71) and a light-transmitting layer (72) may be formed to have an inclination (θ) between 15 and 85 degrees from the vertical direction relative to the surface on which the color layer (70) is formed, thereby including an optical pattern. Color is displayed by the color-producing layer (71), and light is configured to easily transmit through the light-transmitting layer (72). When formed in this way, it provides the effect of maximizing the incidence of sunlight when the solar module (2c) is installed vertically. The color layer (70) of all embodiments described below includes not only cases where it is formed continuously but also cases where it is formed discontinuously and includes a color-producing layer (71) and a light-transmitting layer (72).
[0023] Referring to FIG. 2, the first embodiment of the solar module (2a) including the color layer (70) is in a form in which the color layer (70) is further provided between the encapsulating material (20) and the surface layer (30). As the color layer (70) is positioned between the encapsulating material (20) and the surface layer (30), it appears colored when viewed from the outside. In this case as well, the layer structure including the color layer (70) is formed so that the frame (50) fixes it from the side.
[0024] Referring to FIGS. 3 and 4, the solar module (2b, 2c) including the color layer (70) of the second embodiment further includes a cover window (80), a color layer (70), and a spacer (90) on the side where sunlight is incident on the solar module (1) that does not include the color layer (70). That is, sunlight passes through the air layer (110) formed by the cover window (80), the color layer (70), and the spacer (90) and is incident on the structure configured as described above, such as the solar module (1) that does not include the color layer (70).
[0025] The cover window (80) is formed to facilitate the incidence of sunlight and protects the color layer (70) and other components located inside from external impact. The cover window (80) is a layer formed for the same purpose as the surface layer (30) and may be made of the same material. The color layer (70) is positioned in a layered structure in contact with the cover window (80). The color layer (70) is protected by the cover window (80) and remains in a state where it does not come into contact with air and moisture. A spacer (90) is provided between the color layer (70) and the frame (50) of the structure configured such as the solar module (1) that does not include the color layer (70). The air present inside due to the spacer (90) forms an air layer (110), and the air layer (110) is maintained in a sealed state. The spacer (90) can be formed with a constant thickness to maintain the gap height of the air layer (110) and to prevent gas contained in the air layer (110) from being discharged to the outside. Additionally, a double frame (100) is fixed from the side to maintain the layer structure as described above. Furthermore, unlike when the frame (50) is present and the spacer (90) is located on one side of the frame (50), when the frame (50) is absent, the spacer (90) can be located in a certain section of the surface layer (30). In this case, the entire layer structure may be fixed by the double frame (100) without the frame (50).
[0026] The solar modules (2a, 2b, 2c) including the color layer (70) of the first and second embodiments above are solar modules (2a, 2b, 2c) in which the color layer (70) is formed integrally, and since there is difficulty in changing the color, an embodiment having a structure that can change the color layer (70) in which this problem is solved is additionally described.
[0027] FIG. 5(a) illustrates a solar color module (3). FIG. 5(b) illustrates a state in which the solar color module (3) is coupled to a solar module (1) without a color layer (70). FIG. 6 is a perspective view of a fixing part (120) of the solar color module (3).
[0028] Refer to FIG. 5(a) and FIG. 5(b) for the third embodiment. The solar color module (3) is configured to be combined with the solar module (1). The solar color module (3) has a cover window (80) and a color layer (70) closely combined in a layered structure in the order in which sunlight is incident. It also includes a fixing part (120) formed to be attachable to and detachable from the solar module (1). As previously mentioned, the color layer (70) is configured to be combined with the solar module (1) to display color, and the cover window (80) is also made of a material that allows sunlight to pass through, as previously described, and is configured to be closely combined with the color layer (70). Therefore, when viewed from the outside, it is configured to display color due to the color layer (70).
[0029] The solar color module (3) of the third embodiment further includes a fixing part (120). The solar color module (3) includes a color layer (70) that forms a color, a cover window (80) that is provided in a layered structure with the color layer, and a fixing part (120) that connects the color layer (70) to the solar module (1) so that it can be installed and removed.
[0030] When the color layer (70) is combined with the solar module (1), it further includes a sealing member (130) that seals an air layer (110) formed by air located between the color layer (70) and the solar module (1).
[0031] Through the fixing part (120), the color layer (70) and the cover window (80) can be combined and used with a solar module (1) that does not include the existing color layer (70). That is, it is a structure that allows for easy installation and removal from the solar module (1). The fixing part (120) may be formed integrally with the cover window (80) or may be formed separately. If formed separately, a color module frame (not shown) may be further included to fix the structure of the color module from the side, similar to the role of the frame (50) mentioned above. The fixing part (120) includes all configurations that allow the solar color module (3) to be combined with and removed from the solar module (1) that does not have the color layer (70). For example, it may be combined using screws and bolts.
[0032] As an example of a fixed part (120), the fixed part (120) includes a hinge part (121) formed to be rotatable and a locking part (125) formed to protrude so as to be coupled to one end of the solar module (1). The hinge part (121) may include a general mechanical part formed to allow two fixed parts to move relative to each other. Due to this configuration, the locking part (125) is made rotatable outward, thereby having a degree of freedom with a certain angle. The locking part (125) may be configured to have an 'L'-shaped cross-section so as to be coupled and fixed at the bottom of the solar module (1). After the locking part (125) is hooked onto the bottom of the solar module (1), it is configured to be fixed and tightly fitted using the hinge part (121). If there is a shape that can be fixed by being hooked onto the solar module (1), it can be configured to be fixedly connected to the lower part of the solar module (1), that is, a part other than one end of the frame (50), through the hinge part (121) and hook part (125) as described above.
[0033] And since it is combined through this structure, it also provides the effect of easy removal. Therefore, when you want to change the color or pattern of the color layer (70), it can be easily replaced.
[0034] The hinge portion (121) may not be a mechanical configuration that allows two general parts to move relative to each other, but may be formed integrally from the fixed portion (120) and implemented with a shape or material that is partially different from the fixed portion (120). For example, the fixed portion (120) may be formed with a constant thickness, and the hinge portion (121) may be formed with a thickness thinner than the constant thickness of the fixed portion (120). Thus, the hinge portion (121) with a relatively thin thickness is formed to be easily foldable. Alternatively, other parts of the fixed portion (120) may be formed with a constant density, and the hinge portion (121) may be formed with a lower density than the density of the fixed portion (120), so that it is easily foldable at the hinge portion (121). That is, when the hinge portion (121) is configured by changing the thickness or density, it may be formed of a material that is easy to deform, returns to its original state after deformation, and does not break easily.
[0035] The catch portion (125) may have a cross-section of one end formed protruding in a shape like a 'C'. It may be formed in a 'C' shape to match the lower structure of the solar module (1) to increase the bonding strength. The shape of the catch portion (125) will be explained in detail below.
[0036] The solar color module (3) may further include a sealing member (130) located below the color layer (70). When the solar color module (3) is combined with the solar module (1), an air layer (110) is formed inside. The sealing member (130) is configured to separate the internal air layer (110) from the outside for the reliability of the solar module (1), and to prevent damage to the color layer (70) and the surface layer (30) during the process of fixing and removing. It also serves to prevent moisture from entering the interior of the solar module (1) while it is combined with the solar color module (3). The sealing member (130) is a material that deforms to some extent under pressure without breaking, and may use a polymer such as rubber. The sealing member (130) is located close to the frame (50) of the solar module (1) and is located below the color layer (70). The sealing member (130) may be attached integrally to the solar color module (3), but may also be added and fixed during installation.
[0037] A first groove (131) is provided, which is formed by being drawn in from the opposite side of the color layer (70) that is in close contact with the cover window (80), so that the sealing member (130) is positioned at a fixed position. The depth of the first groove (131) may be thinner than the thickness of the color layer (70). Depending on the design, it may be thicker than the thickness of the color layer (70) so that the sealing member (130) comes into contact with the cover window (80). A portion of the sealing member (130) is positioned in the first groove (131) so that it can be fixed so as not to move beyond the portion where the first groove (131) is formed. By being configured in this way, the sealing member (130) is prevented from deviating from its designed position and affecting reliability issues. In addition to the shape of the groove, the sealing member (130) may be fixed by including all general fixing means, such as adhesives.
[0039] FIG. 7(a) illustrates a color-variable solar module (4) including a fixed part (120). FIG. 7(b) shows a form in which the color-variable solar module (4) is combined with a solar color module (5b). FIG. 8 shows a perspective view of the fixed part (120) included in the color-variable solar module (4).
[0040] The fourth embodiment is a color-variable solar module (4) combined with a fixing part (120). It can be combined with a solar color module (5b) equipped with a color layer (70). The color-variable solar module (4) includes a solar cell (10), an encapsulating material (20), a surface layer (30), and a frame (50) that fixes the layer structure, and includes a fixing part (120) that is combined with the frame (50) or can be added when combined with the solar color module (5b).
[0041] The invention includes a solar cell (10) that generates power using incident sunlight, a sealing material (20) that seals the solar cell (10) from the outside, a surface layer (30) provided to protect the solar cell (10) on the surface of the sealing material (20), a frame (50) that fixes the structure of the solar cell (10), the sealing material (20), and the surface layer (30), and a fixing part (120) that fixes a stacked color layer (70) that is attached to or formed integrally with the frame (50).
[0042] It further includes a sealing member (130) that contacts the frame (50) or surface layer (30) and is deformable according to pressure. The structure of the solar cell (10), encapsulation material (20), surface layer (30), and frame (50) is as described above.
[0043] In addition to the hinge part (121) and the locking part (125) described above, the side of the frame (50) may include a pressing part (123).
[0044] The fixing part (120) can be fixed by being formed with a hinge part (121) and a locking part (125) as described above. Another embodiment of the fixing part (120) is as follows. Referring to FIGS. 7 and 8, a locking part (125) is formed to be fixed in the direction of sunlight incidence so as to be fixed to a solar color module (5b) including a color layer (70) positioned in the direction of sunlight incidence through the locking part (125). The locking part (125) may be configured in the shape of an 'L' as mentioned above, but a locking projection (125a) at the end may be further formed in the shape of a 'C' so as to correspond to and be coupled with the upper part of the solar color module having a stepped structure (125b), thereby increasing the coupling force. Additionally, a pressing part (123) is formed so that when force is applied to the pressing part (123), it becomes fixed, and when force is applied in the opposite direction to the direction of fixation, the locking part (125) in the fixed state is released. That is, when force is applied to the pressing part (123) while the locking part (125) is in a position to be fixed to the solar color module (5b), the locking part (125) is pulled due to the force applied to the pressing part (123) connected to the hinge part (121), and the hinge part (121) is configured to be fixed without rotating in the pulled state. When removal is desired, if force is applied to the pressing part (123) in the opposite direction, the connection state is released, and in the loosened state, the locking part (125) can rotate by the hinge part (121), so it can be easily removed. In this way, it is formed so that it can be connected to and removed from the solar color module (5b).
[0045] It may further include a sealing member (130) that contacts the frame (50) or surface layer (30) and is deformable according to pressure. By further including the sealing member (130), the reliability of the color-variable solar module (4) can be increased. The sealing member (130) may be attached to one end of the frame (50) that is coupled with the solar color module (5b). In this case, the position where it is fixed through the inlet groove (not shown) formed in the surface layer (30) or frame (50) is prevented from shifting, and the sealing force can be increased. Other components having the same name but not mentioned above are identical to those described above.
[0047] According to another embodiment, the first module (4, 6a, 7a) and the second module (5b, 6b, 7b) can be formed as a color-variable solar module (5, 6, 7) together with the fixed part (120) as a combination.
[0048] The color-variable solar module (5, 6, 7) includes a first module (4, 6a, 7a), a second module (5b, 6b, 7b), and a fixing part (120). The first module (4, 6a, 7a) is formed by including a solar cell (10) that generates power using incident sunlight and a sealing material (20) that seals the solar cell (10) from the outside. The second module (5b, 6b, 7b) includes a plate-shaped color layer (70) that forms a color and a cover window (80) that is closely coupled to the upper part of the color layer (70). A fixing part (120) is formed to allow the first module (4, 6a, 7a) and the second module (5b, 6b, 7b) to be combined or separated. The fixing part (120) may be integrally combined with the first module (4, 6a, 7a) or the second module (5b, 6b, 7b). Alternatively, the fixing part (120) may be installed together when combining the first module (4, 6a, 7a) and the second module (5b, 6b, 7b). The following color-variable solar modules (5, 6, 7) will be explained in more detail as specific examples.
[0049] The color-variable solar module (5) according to the fifth embodiment is a case where a fixing part (120) is integrally provided on the first module (4).
[0050] The fixed part (120) includes a rotatable hinge part (121). As described above, the fixed part (120) is formed with a constant thickness or density, and the thickness of the hinge part (121) may be thinner than the thickness of the fixed part (120), or the density of the hinge part (121) may be lower than the density of the fixed part (120).
[0051] Referring to FIGS. 7 and 8, a stepped structure may be formed on the outer edge of the surface of the cover window (80) of the second module (5b). Alternatively, a second groove (not shown) may be formed in the direction in which the color layer (70) is joined from the surface of the cover window (80). In this case, one end of the fixing part (120) is fixed to the first module (4), and the other end includes a catch (125a) that is fitted into the second groove or stepped formed in the second module (5b). The shape of the catch (125a) may vary depending on the corresponding structure formed in the second module (5b).
[0052] FIG. 9 illustrates a color-variable solar module (6) in which a fixed part (120) is fixed or attached to a second module (6b). FIG. 9(a) illustrates a state in which the first module (6a) and the second module (6b) are separated, and FIG. 9(b) illustrates a state in which the first module (6a) and the second module (6b) are combined. FIG. 10 illustrates the shape of another fixed part (120).
[0053] In the color-variable solar module (6) according to the 6th embodiment, a fixing part (120) may be coupled to the second module (6b). In this case, the second module (6b) performs the same role and configuration as the solar color module (3) according to the 3rd embodiment of the present invention. That is, it includes a color layer (70) and a cover window (80), and the fixing part (120) may be formed with a hinge part (121) and a locking part (125). However, in order to increase the coupling force between the first module (6a) and the second module (6b), the structure in which they are coupled by the fixing part (120) may be different.
[0054] The locking portion (125) of the fixed portion (120) may be formed in a 'U' shape to match the lower structure of the first module (6a) in addition to the aforementioned 'L' shape, in order to increase the bonding force from the bottom. In addition, to increase the internal sealing force by increasing the bonding force with the locking portion (125) of the fixed portion (120) at the bottom of the frame (50) of the first module (6a), a locking groove (125c) is formed in the frame (50) of the first module (6a), and a protrusion (125d) formed protrudingly at the end of the locking portion (125) of the second module (6b) may be further included. Accordingly, the protrusion (125d) is fitted into the locking groove (125c), thereby increasing the degree of sealing and further increasing the bonding force. In addition, the shape of the locking part (125) and the corresponding structure includes all structures that can be fixed to the frame (50) or the part of the first module (6a) other than the frame (50), in addition to the shapes mentioned above. However, since it may be difficult to combine them in this case, one end of the fixing part (120), that is, the locking part (125), may be formed in a shape or material that is easy to change. For example, it may be formed from a material such as silicone to be completely sealed while still being flexible. When combined in such a structure, it has the effect of not being easily separated even when unexpected vertical and lateral forces are applied, but being able to be separated if desired. However, it is not limited to such materials and shapes and includes all possible shapes and materials.
[0055] FIG. 11 illustrates another embodiment of a color-variable solar module (7) in which a fixed part (120) is fixed or attached to a second module (7b). FIG. 11(a) illustrates a state in which the first module (7a) and the second module (7b) are separated, and FIG. 11(b) illustrates a state in which the first module (7a) and the second module (7b) are combined. FIG. 12 illustrates the shape of a hinge part (121) and a fitting part (127) included in the second module (7b).
[0056] According to the seventh embodiment, a fixing part (120) may be coupled to the second module (7b) as in the sixth embodiment. In this case, since the second module (7b) performs the same role and configuration as the solar color module (3) of the third embodiment, it includes a color layer (70) and a cover window (80). As another example of the fixing part (120), the fixing part (120) may be formed with a hinge part (121) and a fitting part (127). The fitting part (127) may have a fitting projection (127a) formed on the first module (7a) and a fitting groove (127b) formed by being inserted into an extension surface (129) extending from the hinge part (121) of the second module (7b). The hinge part (121) is identical to the hinge part (121) mentioned above. An extension surface (129) having thickness is formed extending from the hinge portion (121) of the fixing portion (120) attached to or included in the second module (7b), and a fitting groove (127b) is formed that penetrates the extension surface (129). Depending on the degree of protrusion of the fitting projection (127a), the fitting groove (127b) may not penetrate. In the first module (7a), a fitting projection (127a) is formed in a shape corresponding to the fitting groove (127b). The fitting projection (127a) is generally formed on the frame (50) and is formed to protrude with a certain height. Accordingly, the first module (7a) and the second module (7b) can be combined and separated through the fixing portion (120) including the hinge portion (121) and the fitting portion (127).
[0057] In the case of the 5th to 7th embodiments, a sealing member (130) may be further included in addition to the first module (4, 6a, 7a), the second module (5b, 6b, 7b), and the fixing part (120). The function and effect of the sealing member (130) are the same as described above.
[0058] Unlike the first and second embodiments, in the third to seventh embodiments, the solar color module (3) or the second module (5b, 6b, 7b) can be combined and separated with the solar module (1) or the first module (4, 6a, 7a) in which the existing color layer (70) is not formed, thereby enabling replacement at a relatively low cost for changing the building's exterior, remodeling, or changing the image used on fences and sound barriers. In addition, since the technology of the solar module (1) developed for long-term use is used as is and only the color or pattern can be changed, it can be an eco-friendly business model with a low burden of replacement.
[0060] In all embodiments, to optimize the efficiency of the air layer (110) due to sunlight caused by air existing between the color layer (70) and the existing solar module (1) or between the color layer (70) and the surface layer (30), a scattering layer (not shown) may be further included between the color layer (70) and the air layer (110). That is, a separate scattering layer may be formed to be in contact with the color layer (70) in a layered structure and may include TiO2 haze balls with a refractive index between 2.0 and 2.2.
[0062] FIG. 13 is a graph comparing the amount of current generated in a photovoltaic module according to an embodiment. Table 1 is a table showing the results of the graph in FIG. 13.
[0063] Sample A (Comparison group) B (First Example) C (Fifth Example) Current density (mA / cm²) 2 ) 34.365 27.387 26.258
[0064] Due to concerns regarding a decrease in power generation resulting from the addition of a cover window (80) and a color layer (70) to the solar module (1), a comparative experiment was conducted on three modules as shown in Table 1 and Fig. 13 above. Sample A is a conventional solar module (1) in which a color layer (70) is not formed, and Sample B is a solar module (2a) of the second embodiment in which the color layer (70) is formed so that it cannot be changed. Sample C was tested as a color-variable solar module (5) of the fifth embodiment. A scattering layer was not included. All were manufactured using a 156mm X 156mm solar cell, and the color of the color layer (70) was formed in blue. Electrical characteristics were tested using the same experimental equipment under standard conditions (25℃, 100mW / cm²). 2 It was measured in ). As a result, when examining the effect of inserting the color layer (70), the current density of both Sample B and Sample C decreased compared to Sample A. However, the difference in current density between Sample C, in which the color layer (70) is replaceable, and Sample B, in which it is not replaceable, is only 4%. Since the power generation loss is not significant even though the air layer (110) and the cover window (80) are added as it is formed to be color-changeable, it is possible to form a color-changeable form by adding a fixing part (120) to the cover window (80) and the color layer (70), not just an integrated form. From this, it can be inferred that there is no significant difference when comparing the degree of power generation by sunlight in the 3rd to 7th embodiments with that of the 1st embodiment. The 2nd embodiment is excluded from consideration because the path through which sunlight passes is the same as that of the 5th embodiment.
