Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present invention relates to an ozone combined reaction device, and more specifically, to an ozone combined reaction device with an improved structure that can maximize the generation of hydroxyl radicals having strong oxidizing power as an oxidizing agent and enables operation in various ways. Background Technology
[0002] Water pollution caused by organic matter is serious due to the use of various chemical substances resulting from the advancement and diversification of the industrial structure. Non-biodegradable wastewater is difficult to decompose by microorganisms.
[0003] The government announced the 2nd Basic Plan for Water Reuse (2021–2030) to promote a sound water cycle by establishing sustainable water reuse. The plan aimed to increase the off-site reuse rate of treated wastewater from 8% to 17% and the reuse rate of treated wastewater for industrial use from 0.9% to 5%, respectively, and to improve the drying up of rivers through water reuse.
[0004] The main content is to support the installation and operation of water reuse facilities as a basic component of sewage treatment plants to supply and expand high-quality water, to expand the use of recycled treated wastewater as a water resource, and to promote water reuse by strengthening linkages between water use plans and other laws.
[0005] In operation, it is necessary to adopt core technologies for low-energy and low-cost water reuse and to use cost-saving combination technologies to reduce production costs.
[0006] Advanced oxidation processes or membrane treatment technologies are more effective than biological treatment for the removal of non-biodegradable organic substances (medicinal substances, residual organic pollutants, endocrine disruptors, etc.), and while membrane processes can reduce concentrations to very low levels, the fact that these are energy-consuming processes acts as a barrier to their actual application.
[0007] Market competitiveness in advanced oxidation processes requires differentiation to enhance efficiency and secure economic viability compared to existing technologies by maximizing the generation of hydroxyl radicals (*OH) to increase treatment efficiency and minimizing energy consumption.
[0008] There are various methods for treating such wastewater. One of them is treatment using ozone. The Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) was developed to increase the efficiency of ozone treatment and reduce ozone usage.
[0009] Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs) include various treatment methods such as O3 / H2O2, UV / H2O2, O3 / UV, O3 / GAC, and O3 / PAC. An important mechanism of these processes lies in the generation of hydroxyl radicals. Hydroxyl radicals are reactive (10) that attack most organic molecules. 8 ~ 10 10 M -1 s -1 It is a component with a very high reaction rate.
[0010] In addition, a water treatment device and water treatment method using such an advanced oxidation process are disclosed in the applicant's Korean Patent No. 10-0541573, and a water treatment device using activated carbon in an advanced oxidation process is disclosed in the applicant's Patent No. 10-2184716.
[0011] In particular, a water treatment device using an advanced oxidation process according to Korean Patent No. 10-0541573 comprises: an inlet; a reaction tank having an inlet section, a reaction space section in which raw water flowing in from the inlet section is received and in which ozone gas is supplied to the raw water to purify the raw water by the ozone dissolved in the raw water, and an outlet section in which the raw water purified in the reaction space section is discharged to the outside; In a water treatment device using an advanced oxidation process for generating hydroxyl radicals from dissolved ozone to improve the purification efficiency of the raw water, the advanced oxidation means comprises: an activated carbon layer formed with a thickness of 10 cm to 20 cm in the reaction space of a reaction tank, which is made of particulate activated carbon, so that the dissolved ozone dissolved in the raw water undergoes a radical chain reaction and the dissolved ozone is decomposed into hydroxyl radicals with strong oxidizing power; an ultraviolet lamp that is arranged vertically above the activated carbon layer of the reaction tank and irradiates ultraviolet light; a lamp penetration hole that is arranged vertically above the activated carbon layer of the reaction tank and is spaced apart from the activated carbon layer in a certain direction, and into which each ultraviolet lamp is inserted; and a porous plate having a plurality of fine penetration holes formed around the lamp penetration hole.
[0012] In addition, the water treatment device using activated carbon in an advanced oxidation process according to Korean Patent No. 10-2184716 comprises: an inlet; a retention reaction unit capable of retaining raw water so as to purify the raw water by dissolved ozone dissolved in the raw water introduced through the inlet; a reaction tank having an outlet through which treated water purified in the retention reaction unit is discharged to the outside; an upstream blocking unit that prevents activated carbon, which is provided in a particulate form to generate hydroxyl radicals from the dissolved ozone to improve the efficiency of the raw water, from moving upstream of the reaction tank; and a downstream blocking unit provided downstream of the reaction tank to prevent the activated carbon from moving downstream; wherein the device comprises a dispersion flow unit provided such that the activated carbon can be dispersed and flowed between the upstream blocking unit and the downstream blocking unit to increase the frequency of contact between the activated carbon and the dissolved ozone.
[0013] However, conventional technology has the following disadvantages.
[0014] The structure is an upward-flow reaction tank having an inlet, a reaction space that receives raw water flowing in from the inlet and supplies ozone gas to the raw water to purify the raw water by the ozone dissolved in the raw water, and an outlet through which the raw water purified in the reaction space is discharged to the outside. Consequently, the supplied ozone gas rises rapidly and does not easily dissolve in water. To address this, conventional technology has attempted to improve dissolution efficiency by arranging multiple porous plates, and this has been widely used until now; however, structural improvements suitable for cost-effective, high-efficiency products are required.
[0015] In addition, during the process in which dissolved ozone dissolved in raw water reacts under an activated carbon layer catalyst, the thickness of the activated carbon layer is set to 20 cm or less to fix the thickness. Consequently, the contact time between the dissolved ozone and the activated carbon is too short, so the catalytic reaction of the activated carbon occurs instantaneously, resulting in a relatively insufficient generation of hydroxyl radicals. Furthermore, since the amount of activated carbon input cannot be controlled in the existing reactor structure, there are limitations in maximizing the catalytic effect. To address this, a water treatment device utilizing activated carbon in an advanced oxidation process is provided according to Korean Patent No. 10-2184716, which increases the frequency of contact between the activated carbon and the dissolved ozone.

[0018] Registered Patent Publication No. 10-2184716 (Published Dec. 01, 2020) The problem to be solved
[0019] The objective of the present invention is to solve the problems associated with applying the conventional technology described above to a combined reaction device. Specifically, the invention aims to provide a downward reaction section within the combined reaction device to ensure better dissolution of the ozone aqueous solution. In other words, the invention aims to provide an economical ozone combined reaction device capable of reducing equipment and operating costs. means of solving the problem
[0020] The objective of the present invention is achieved by an ozone combined reaction device characterized by comprising: a device body having a cylindrical shape, an inlet for receiving a fluid mixed with ozone and incoming water, and an outlet for discharging the received fluid; a central downward flow path provided in the center of the device body, which supports the upper and lower parts of the device body and communicates with the inlet for receiving the fluid on the upper side of the device body; and a distribution nozzle radially arranged on the lower side of the central downward flow path to evenly distribute the liquid into the interior of the device body.
[0021] In addition, it is preferable to include a partition wall blocking the inner side of the device body between the downstream of the distribution nozzle and the outlet; and an activated carbon contact part coupled to the partition wall at a set interval so as to guide the fluid mixed from the distribution nozzle to the outlet to flow back after passing through the activated carbon contained therein.
[0022] Additionally, the activated carbon contact portion preferably comprises an activated carbon case for accommodating activated carbon, a case fixing member for coupling the activated carbon case to the partition wall, a backflow inducing member coupled to the activated carbon case in a cap shape to allow a mixed fluid passing through the activated carbon case to flow back, and an ultrasonic vibration member coupled to the activated carbon case to impart vibration to the mixed fluid remaining in the backflow inducing member after passing through the activated carbon case.
[0023] In addition, it is preferable that a spiral-shaped stirring guide member be arranged in the longitudinal direction to enable the fluid guided inside the central downward channel to react more effectively.
[0024] In addition, it is preferable that the inlet and the outlet are located on the upper side of the device body.
[0025] In addition, it is preferable to include a UV lamp section having a UV lamp upstream of the above-mentioned outlet section. Effects of the invention
[0026] Accordingly, according to the present invention, by having a downward flow reactor structure and utilizing potential energy, the retention passage in which gas and liquid (hereinafter referred to as 'gas-liquid') can be mixed in the same reactor is lengthened to further increase the solubility of ozone and the generation of hydroxyl radicals, which are the purposes of the reactor, and the ozone aqueous solution is sprayed at high speed from the distribution nozzle to form a vortex, thereby promoting the dissolution of ozone gas in an undissolved state where the gas-liquid is still separated, and thus the effect of improving treatment efficiency is achieved.
[0027] In addition, the ozone aqueous solution, which flows into the activated carbon contact section after passing through the downward-flow reactor and distribution nozzle and switching to an upward-flow, is converted into hydroxyl radicals through the catalytic action of the activated carbon, thereby further increasing the efficiency of the device.
[0028] In addition, while turbine stirring, radial, diffuser, and injector methods have been applied to improve solubility in the case of upward flow, there are limitations in controlling the tendency of gas to rapidly rise to the top. Therefore, the downward flow reaction device of the present invention has the advantage of maximizing solubility improvement and the generation of hydroxyl radicals by extending the gas-liquid contact opportunity and residence time compared to the upward flow reaction device.
[0029] In addition, the ozone combined reaction device of the present invention is characterized by being designed to enable selective operation while including combined functions to allow variable operation according to inflow conditions and environmental conditions, in order to optimize the installation area of the limited facility, energy usage, and operating costs. It has the effect of including additional systems necessary for adjusting pH, the amount of activated carbon input, and the hydrogen peroxide injection concentration.
[0030] In addition, placing the inlet and outlet at the top allows the reaction device to be positioned as close to the ground as possible compared to the lower inlet piping space required in an upward flow reaction device, thereby increasing space utilization and improving design freedom. [0039] Content not disclosed in the present invention is preferably included in the contents of the applicant's publications disclosed in the prior art.
[0040] A composite reaction device (1000) according to one embodiment of the present invention, as illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 3, preferably comprises: a device body (1100) having an inlet (1530) into which a fluid mixed with ozone and inflow water (in some cases, raw water) is introduced in a cylindrical shape, and an outlet (1550) into which the introduced fluid is discharged; a central downward flow path (1110) provided in the center of the interior of the device body (1100) and communicating with the inlet (1530) provided on the upper side of the device body (1100) while supporting the upper and lower parts of the device body (1100); and a distribution nozzle (1170) radially arranged on the lower side of the central downward flow path (1110) so as to distribute liquid evenly into the interior of the device body (1100).
[0041] The inlet section (1530) is connected to the upper side of the device body (1100) and is connected to a central downward flow path (1110) that includes a stainless steel pipe having a diameter of, for example, about 250 mm.
[0042] The inlet section (1530) is where the influent water (meaning water to be treated) or raw water of the water and sewage treatment process is introduced, and ozone and / or hydrogen peroxide is supplied to the piping line through which the influent water is introduced so that the influent water and ozone and / or hydrogen peroxide can be mixed. The mixed fluid described below refers to the mixture of the influent water and the ozone gas mixed therein, and of course, it would be desirable for the ozone to be broken down into very fine particles and completely dissolved in the influent water.
[0043] The influent water can react with ozone and / or hydrogen peroxide, activated carbon, UV lamps, etc., to remove unnecessary components.
[0044] The device body (1100) has a round cylindrical shape and is connected to an inlet section (1530) at the top and an outlet section (1550) through which treated water from the device body (1100) is discharged. A central downward flow path (1110) is located inside, and a partition wall (1150) separating the upper and lower sections is provided inside, along with a manhole (1180) for maintenance, repair, etc.
[0045] The central downward flow path (1110) is connected to the inlet section (1530) inside the main body of the device (1100) and serves the function of guiding the inflow water and ozone and / or hydrogen peroxide to flow from the upper side to the lower side, while simultaneously reinforcing the main body of the device (1100) so that it can withstand pressure.
[0046] The central downward flow path (1110) preferably includes a stainless steel pipe of about 250 mm in length.
[0047] It is preferable that a screw or spiral type stirring guide member (1113) be combined in the flow path inside the central downward flow path (1110) so that the inflow water and ozone and / or hydrogen peroxide can be effectively mixed.
[0048] The stirring induction member (1113) is a non-powered structure (including a structure that is non-powered but can rotate according to the flow of incoming water), but may also include a structure that can rotate by power at a set speed as needed.
[0049] The partition wall (1150) is a horizontal plate-shaped wall that is positioned close to the lower end of the central downward flow path (1110) and vertically blocks the interior of the device body (1100) between the distribution nozzle (1170) of FIG. 2 and the outlet (1550) to separate the inflow water and the liquid mixed with ozone and / or hydrogen peroxide.
[0050] A liquid mixed with water and ozone and / or hydrogen peroxide can flow up and down the device body (1100) through the activated carbon contact part (1300) described later, which is coupled to the partition wall (1150).
[0051] The device body (1100) is supported by a support bracket (1190) on the floor, etc.
[0052] The conventional device body (1100) has an inlet formed at the lower side and is configured as an upstream type, but the device body (1100) according to the present invention differs in that it has a structure in which water flows from the lower side to the upper side through a central downward flow path (1110) in the center.
[0053] With the structure of the device body (1100) according to the present invention, the time the inflow water is in contact with ozone and / or hydrogen peroxide is prolonged, so the treatment efficiency is increased compared to the device body (1100) having the same lower inflow section, and since there is no separate inflow section at the bottom, the bottom can be made flat, so the overall height can be lowered and the degree of freedom in design can be increased.
[0054] The activated carbon contact part (1300) is coupled to a partition wall (1150) that separates the device body (1100) into upper and lower sections, and serves as a flow path that allows inflow water to flow from the lower side to the upper side, and functions to induce the fluid flowing up and down to react with the activated carbon.
[0055] The activated carbon contact portion (1300) preferably comprises an activated carbon case (1330) having a space for accommodating activated carbon, a case fixing member (1333) that connects the activated carbon case (1330) to a partition wall (1150), a fixing shaft (1335) that fixes the internal activated carbon of the activated carbon case (1330) and maintains a gap between the upper part of the activated carbon case (1330) and a backflow inducing member (1350), and a cap-shaped backflow inducing member (1350) that is connected to the upper part of the activated carbon case (1330) so that the fluid passing through the activated carbon flows to the outlet portion (1550) and flows downward rather than upward.
[0056] Here, the upper and lower plates of the activated carbon case (1330) are provided with a plurality of pores to maintain the state in which the activated carbon is contained in the internal space and to allow a fluid mixed with water, ozone, and hydrogen peroxide to pass through.
[0057] In particular, the ultrasonic vibration unit (1370) is combined with the reverse flow inducing member (1350) to extend the residence time of the fluid by causing it to reverse flow, thereby increasing the reaction time and, during the residence time, breaking down the bubbles inside the fluid into smaller pieces through ultrasound, thereby improving the solubility of ozone and the generation of hydroxyl radicals.
[0058] It is preferable that the fluid mixed with the incoming ozone gas, etc., and the incoming water (or raw water) through the central downward flow path (1110) or the stirring inducing member (1113) at the lower part of the central downward flow path (1110) is evenly sprayed through the distribution nozzle (1170) connected to the lower side of the device body (1100).
[0059] The distribution nozzles (1170) are provided in a plurality in the horizontal direction in the vertical central downward flow path (1110) and are arranged at equal angles in the shape of four to eight pipes. The distribution nozzles (1170) include a horizontal nozzle member (1173) in the shape of a horizontal pipe and an inclined nozzle member (1175) that is coupled at an angle (e.g., 30 degrees) set from the central axis of the horizontal nozzle member (1173) to guide fluid to the main body of the device (1100).
[0060] The fluid ejected at a set angle from the inclined nozzle member (1175) can create a rotating flow on the lower side of the device body (1100). This flow is guided to the flow of the activated carbon contact part (1300), which is the next flow.
[0061] That is, as the fluid moves from the horizontal nozzle member (1173) to the inclined nozzle member (1175), the fluid strongly collides with the inner surface of the inclined nozzle member (1175), and the ozone, which can exist as a larger mass of gas, can be broken into smaller pieces.
[0062] Here, depending on the needs, the partition wall (1150) and the activated carbon contact part (1300) may be provided as a set in two or three stages.
[0063] In addition, it is preferable that the upper space of the device body (1100) includes a UV lamp section (1500) composed of a plurality of UV lamps.
[0064] The decomposition of hydrogen peroxide has a close functional relationship with pH. Hydrogen peroxide reacts very slowly with ozone. However, hydrogen peroxide ions (HO2-), which are intermediates produced by the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide, react rapidly with ozone in a two-step reaction to form hydroxide ions (OH-).
[0065] The present invention is intended to increase the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide and to form conditions or an atmosphere in which hydrogen peroxide and ozone can be mixed over a long period of time, and to increase the amount of dissolved ozone and the time of contact with activated carbon by causing the hydrogen peroxide, ozone, and influent water to react at a rapid rate.
[0066] That is, the inflow water and / or ozone and hydrogen peroxide flowing into the entire present invention are guided from the upper side to the lower side, and stirring is induced during the process of guidance, and the mixed inflow water guided to the lower side moves to the upper side and is discharged to the outlet (1550).
[0067] In the process of the inflow water mixed from the lower side flowing into the outflow section (1550), a somewhat large mass of gas is broken down by the inclined nozzle member (1175) and the ultrasonic vibration section (1370), and the mixed fluid can maintain a longer residence time by reacting with activated carbon and then flowing back, and can be treated once more by a UV lamp.
[0068] In addition, the composite reaction device (1000) according to the present invention can be controlled by an unillustrated control unit to enable variable operation according to inflow conditions and environmental conditions in order to enable efficient operation and achieve optimization of energy usage and operating costs.
[0069] For example, depending on the inflow conditions of the influent water (flow rate, pH, impurity concentration, temperature, etc.), combined operation of ozone + activated carbon catalyst + ultraviolet light may be performed, combined operation of ozone + activated carbon catalyst + ultraviolet light may be performed, combined operation of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) + ozone + activated carbon catalyst + ultraviolet light may be performed, or ultraviolet light may be operated alone.
[0070] Accordingly, according to the present invention, by having a downward flow reactor structure and utilizing potential energy, the retention passage in which gas and liquid (hereinafter referred to as 'gas-liquid') can be mixed in the same reactor is lengthened to further increase the solubility of ozone and the generation of hydroxyl radicals, which are the purposes of the reactor, and the ozone aqueous solution is sprayed at high speed from the distribution nozzle to form a vortex, thereby promoting the dissolution of ozone gas in an undissolved state where the gas-liquid is still separated, and thus the effect of improving treatment efficiency is achieved.
[0071] In addition, the ozone aqueous solution, which flows into the activated carbon contact section after passing through the downward-flow reactor and distribution nozzle and switching to an upward-flow, is converted into hydroxyl radicals through the catalytic action of the activated carbon, thereby further increasing the efficiency of the device.
[0072] In addition, while turbine stirring, radial, diffuser, and injector methods have been applied to improve solubility in the case of upward flow, there are limitations in controlling the tendency of gas to rapidly rise to the top. Therefore, the downward flow reaction device of the present invention has the advantage of maximizing solubility improvement and the generation of hydroxyl radicals by extending the gas-liquid contact opportunity and residence time compared to the upward flow reaction device.
[0073] In addition, the ozone combined reaction device of the present invention is characterized by being designed to enable selective operation while including combined functions to allow variable operation according to inflow conditions and environmental conditions, in order to optimize the installation area of the limited facility, energy usage, and operating costs. It has the effect of including additional systems necessary for pH adjustment, the amount of activated carbon input, and the hydrogen peroxide injection concentration.
[0074] In addition, placing the inlet and outlet at the top allows the reaction device to be positioned as close to the ground as possible compared to the lower inlet piping space required in an upward flow reaction device, thereby increasing space utilization and improving design freedom.
[0075] Although various embodiments of the present invention have been illustrated and described herein, those skilled in the art will understand that modifications can be made to these embodiments without departing from the principles or spirit of the invention. The scope of the invention will be defined by the appended claims and their equivalents. Explanation of the symbols
