Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a reptile shedding container that enables reptiles to easily shed their skin on their own. Background Technology
[0003] As is well known, there has been a recent increase in cases of keeping reptiles as pets. Reptiles undergo molting, shedding their outer skin as they regenerate or grow.
[0004] In other words, reptiles molt periodically; however, if they fail to molt properly and residual skin remains on their bodies, they become vulnerable to various diseases. Therefore, the timing of molting is very important for reptiles. In particular, if a reptile fails to molt, necrosis progresses in the unmolted parts, potentially leading to death. This poses a threat to the lives of all organisms that require molting, such as crustaceans like crayfish, as well as reptiles.
[0005] Accordingly, as prior art related to this, Korean Registered Patent Publication No. 10-2410179 is disclosed. Referring to FIG. 1, a conventional reptile molting cage is configured to assist in the molting process by comprising a body (10) including an inner space (100) and a molting board (20) installed on one side of the inner space (100) and having a plurality of molting protrusions formed protruding therefrom.
[0006] However, it is made of an open structure that cannot hold water, so it cannot be applied to the molting of wetlands or aquatic reptiles, and the molting board is attached only to the inner space, so the utilization of the outer surface is reduced, and there are limitations in utilizing all sides of the inner space during the molting process. Prior art literature
[0008] Korean Registered Patent Publication No. 10-2410179 (Reptile molting cage, June 22, 2022) Korean Published Patent Publication No. 10-2024-0023726 (Reptile hiding and molting device, February 23, 2024) The problem to be solved

[0013] Here, the peeling protrusion may be made of silicone material.
[0015] In addition, the main body may be formed with a wooden frame, and a waterproof coating layer may be formed on the inner surface of the frame using a polyurethane coating agent.
[0017] In addition, a glass fiber layer may be applied to the inner surface of the above frame, and a waterproof coating layer may be formed on the upper surface of the glass fiber layer.
[0019] In addition, a peeling column corresponding to the height of the outer wall is formed upright from the bottom plate of the main body, and a plurality of protrusions made of silicone material may be arranged in various sizes around the outer surface of the peeling column.
[0021] In addition, a spherical peeling aid having a circular or elliptical cross-section may be formed on the outer surface of the outer wall of the main body.
[0023] In addition, the main body may be formed in a cylindrical, cuboidal, or elliptical shape with an open top. Effects of the invention
[0025] According to the present invention, a container is provided in which water is contained at a certain level and molting protrusions are arranged, thereby helping a reptile molt on its own without the intervention of a breeder, preventing molting failure, providing a massage effect that promotes blood circulation, and preventing biting accidents by eliminating the need for direct assistance from a breeder. Additionally, by forming the molting protrusions with silicone material, skin irritation and skin damage to the reptile can be minimized, allowing for safe molting, and pressure is uniformly distributed and transmitted, enabling molting without skin damage. Specific details for implementing the invention
[0028] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention having the aforementioned features will be described in more detail with reference to the attached drawings.
[0030] The reptile molting container according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises an outer wall (111) formed around to form an inner space (A) of a specific size, and a bottom plate (112) covering the bottom of the outer wall (111), so as to accommodate a reptile and fill it with water of a certain level, and a cone-shaped molting protrusion (120) formed with different heights and thicknesses on the inner surface of the outer wall (111) and the upper surface of the bottom plate (112), with a rounded end, so as to enable the reptile to easily molt on its own.
[0032] Hereinafter, with reference to the drawings, the reptile molting container with the aforementioned configuration will be specifically described as follows.
[0034] First, referring to FIGS. 2 and FIGS. 7, the main body (110) is formed with an outer wall (111) formed around to form an inner space (A) of a specific size, and a bottom plate (112) that covers the bottom of the outer wall (111) to form a sealed bottom surface, thereby forming a specific shape so that reptiles of various sizes and lengths, such as corn snakes, blood pythons, and reticulated pythons, can be accommodated and filled with water of a certain level.
[0035] Here, the main body (110) is formed with a frame made of wood material such as birch wood that can be made lightweight, and a waterproof coating layer (not shown) is formed on the inner surface of the frame with a polyurethane coating agent (polycoat) composed of components such as polyurethane, epoxy, and acrylic, so that it can perform the function of a water bowl that holds a certain level of water.
[0036] Alternatively, a glass fiber layer (not shown) may be applied to the inner surface of the frame, and a waterproof silicone coating layer may be formed on the upper surface of the glass fiber layer and the outer surface of the frame by a waterproof spray method to prevent leakage.
[0037] Alternatively, the frame of the aforementioned main body (110) may be formed by molding through edible resin and configured to maintain watertightness by forming an additional resin coating layer.
[0038] In addition, referring to FIG. 6, a transparent cover plate (140) covering the open upper surface of the main body (110) is attached and secured so that a breeder can safely visually observe the molting process of the reptile from a close distance.
[0039] Here, a thermal imaging camera (150) or a vision camera (150) is provided on the bottom surface of the cover plate (140) to constantly monitor the molting process during the day and night, and to transmit video information captured by the thermal imaging camera (150) or the vision camera (150) to a breeder's smart terminal (160). Additionally, the video information can be analyzed through a molting analysis app included in the breeder's smart terminal (160) to identify whether molting is complete and to notify the breeder, thereby minimizing unexpected stress on the reptile caused by the breeder's continuous close visual observation.
[0040] Additionally, although not shown, a configuration identical to the molting protrusion (120) may be formed on the bottom surface of the cover plate (140), so that when covering the main body (110), the molting of the reptile may be made possible through the cover plate (140) on all sides, left, right, up, and down.
[0042] Meanwhile, a heating element (not shown) is arranged on the bottom surface of the main body (110) to set and provide an optimal temperature according to the molting of desert reptiles (32 to 40°C), tropical reptiles (28 to 35°C), temperate reptiles (28 to 35°C), wetland or aquatic reptiles (27 to 32°C) depending on the habitat environment, thereby creating a preferred environment and minimizing stress that may occur during the molting process.
[0044] Additionally, referring to FIG. 6, a drain (113) that can be opened and closed is formed on one side of the bottom plate (112), so that water used after peeling can be drained and disposed of without moving the main body (110).
[0045] Here, a suction device (not shown) is connected to the drain (113) to suck up the residue removed from the skin and remove it to the outside without scattering the residue into the air, and without a washing process by moving the main body (110), the main body (110) can be washed in place after shedding, heated by a heating wire to dry it, and the residue can be suctioned so that the shedding of other reptiles can be performed sequentially and continuously.
[0047] Next, referring to FIGS. 2, FIGS. 3 and FIGS. 7, the molting protrusions (120) are formed in a cone shape (small, medium, and large) with relatively different heights, thicknesses, or diameters on the inner surface of the outer wall (111) and the upper surface of the bottom plate (112), and are arranged randomly spaced apart so that reptiles of various sizes and lengths mentioned above can be accommodated and molted without separate replacement, and the ends of the molting protrusions (120) are formed rounded so that the reptile can easily climb over the molting protrusions (120) of a relatively low height and molt more easily.
[0048] That is, the molting protrusion (120) is made of silicone material, so that it is non-toxic and non-allergenic, allowing for safe molting while minimizing skin irritation and skin damage to the reptile, and allows for molting without skin damage by ensuring that pressure is evenly distributed and transmitted while being gently pressed, and allows for maintaining the molting function even with repeated use without wear or deformation, and inhibits the growth of mold, bacteria, etc. and allows for washing with water.
[0049] Here, as exemplified in FIG. 2, a multi-line grid wrinkle (121) or a protrusion (not shown) may be formed on the outer surface of the peeling protrusion (120) to increase friction with the skin and make peeling easier.
[0051] Meanwhile, as illustrated in FIG. 4, the peeling protrusion (120) is configured to be fitted into a hole (112a) formed in the outer wall (111) or bottom plate (112), so that when damaged, only the peeling protrusion (120) can be individually replaced, making maintenance easier.
[0053] Alternatively, in addition to the individual joining method of the peeling protrusions (120), they may be joined in a board form. For example, another peeling protrusion (120A) formed on the inner surface of the outer wall (111) may be composed of a support plate (123) and a plurality of protrusions (124) arranged and fixed in a matrix form on the support plate (123), configured to be attached and detached by sliding in a slide groove (111a) formed on the inner or outer side of the outer wall (111), so that only the peeling protrusion (120A) can be separated to replace or clean.
[0055] Additionally, as illustrated in FIG. 6, a molting column (130) corresponding to the height of the outer wall (111) from the bottom plate (112) of the main body (110) is formed upright by being connected to a hole formed in the bottom plate (112) by a bolt fastening method or a press fit method so as to be replaceable, and a plurality of protrusions (131) made of silicone or rubber material are arranged in various sizes around the outer surface of the molting column (130), and the molting column (130) is made of a rigid material such as plastic so as not to be easily deformed, allowing the reptile to molt more easily by rubbing against it.
[0057] In addition, as illustrated in FIGS. 2 and 3, a spherical peeling aid (122) having a circular or elliptical cross-section is formed on the inner or outer surface of the outer wall (111) of the main body (110), so that peeling can be performed by rubbing on the outside of the main body (110) in addition to the narrow inner space (A) of the main body (110).
[0058] Here, referring to FIG. 5, the spherical molting aid (122) may be connected to a hole (111b) formed on the outer surface of the outer wall (111) by a fitting method or a bolt fastening method, so that it can be replaced with various sizes and shapes depending on the reptile individual.
[0060] Additionally, referring to FIGS. 2 and FIGS. 7, the main body (110) may be formed and applied in a cylindrical shape, a cuboid shape, or an elliptical shape with an open top, depending on the characteristics and activity patterns of individual reptiles.
[0062] Accordingly, by configuring the reptile molting container as described above, a container is provided in which water is contained at a certain level and molting protrusions are arranged, thereby helping the reptile to molt on its own without the intervention of a breeder, preventing molting failure, providing a massage effect that promotes blood circulation, and preventing biting accidents by eliminating the need for direct assistance from a breeder. Additionally, by forming the molting protrusions with silicone material, skin irritation and skin damage to the reptile can be minimized, allowing for safe molting, and pressure is evenly distributed and transmitted, enabling molting without skin damage.
[0064] The embodiments described in this specification and the configurations illustrated in the drawings are merely the most preferred embodiments of the present invention and do not represent all of the technical ideas of the present invention; therefore, it should be understood that various equivalents and modifications that can replace them may exist at the time of filing this application.
