Abstract

This utility model relates to the production of composite materials, specifically to compositions based on thermoplastic polymers and mineral fillers. The utility model can be used to manufacture structural components operating under static and dynamic loads, such as housing components, enclosing elements, small architectural forms, and others. The technical result of this utility model is an increase in the compressive strength and impact toughness of a sand-polymer composite with a high degree of quartz sand filling (80 wt.%), as well as frost resistance and resistance to dynamic loads while maintaining the processability and the possibility of using regenerated polymers. The technical solution consists in using a mixture of high-density polyethylene (LDPE) and polypropylene (PP) in a weight ratio of 1:3 as a polymer binder, and quartz sand of a fraction of 180 - 260 μm, pre-treated with an alcoholic solution of stearic acid and subsequent drying, as a filler. Additionally, a copolymer of ethylene with vinyl acetate (EVA) can be introduced into the composition in an amount of up to 5 wt.% to increase the fluidity of the melt. The composition of the sand-polymer composite includes, in wt.%: - LDPE - 4.0; - PP - 12.0; - quartz sand - 80.0; - stearic acid - 4.0; - EVA - up to 5.0 (if necessary). These studies were conducted within the framework of the grant funding from the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the project IRN AP 27510559 “Modernization of machine tool equipment of mechanical engineering enterprises using composite materials based on additive technologies” (agreement with the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 173 KMU-25-27 dated 11.06.2025).
