Forensic scale ruler

Abstract

This utility model pertains to forensic technology, specifically to measuring instruments for large-scale photographic recording of trace evidence at crime scenes. The technical result consists of increasing the contrast and readability of measuring scales in photographs when working in low-light conditions using ultraviolet light sources, as well as ensuring secure, adhesive-free attachment of the device to surfaces without the need for a specialist to hold it in place. This is achieved by the ruler, which comprises a flat housing with applied measuring scales, numbers, and contrasting markings, the said elements being luminescent. The rear side of the housing additionally features a fixing layer made of a flexible magnetic material or a coating with micro-suction cups.
