Abstract
The invention pertains to seismology, geophysics, and earthquake-resistant engineering, specifically to methods for reducing seismic hazard in the city of Almaty through controlled stimulation of the seismic-generating zone of the Northern Tien Shan. The method involves influencing the seismically active zone by creating artificial seismic disturbances. The stimulation is carried out in the most hazardous seismic-generating zone of the Northern Tien Shan, located along the continuation of the sublatitudinal geological structure at a distance of 20 to 80 km from Almaty. A series of aerohydraulic pulse shocks using pneumatic guns is conducted in a water basin located on a seismic protection test site, creating a sequence of artificial seismic impacts that cause earthquakes of lower energy than a potentially destructive earthquake.The technical result consists in reducing the seismic hazard for the territory of the city of Almaty due to controlled impact on the seismic-generating zone of the Northern Tien Shan.
