Abstract

The invention relates to the processing of high-phosphorus oolitic ores with a phosphorus content of over 0.3% to produce carbon-free iron and phosphorus slag. The method involves pre-milling the ore, followed by oxidative roasting in an air atmosphere with the addition of calcium oxide to the original ore to bind the phosphorus with calcium and form strong calcium phosphates. After fluxing and oxidative roasting, solid-phase selective reduction of iron with carbon monoxide or hydrogen is performed to produce a metallized semi-finished product, followed by cooling. The metallized product is then subjected to separation smelting to produce carbon-free iron and phosphorus slag. The method makes it possible to expand the raw material base for obtaining iron from phosphorus iron ore raw materials that are difficult to process using traditional methods and to improve the environmental friendliness of the technology.
