Method for fabricating circuits on flexible printed circuit boards

Abstract

Disclosed is a method for manufacturing circuit patterns on flexible printed circuit boards, comprising: exposing and imaging a flexible substrate coated with a photoresist layer using a laser direct imaging device, and applying a line width compensation algorithm during the exposure and imaging process to compensate the circuit pattern, thereby obtaining a compensated circuit pattern; developing the compensated circuit pattern and inspecting the developed circuit pattern using an automatic optical inspection device; and etching the developed circuit patterns using a stepwise etching process to form circuits with fine line widths and specified line width tolerances.
