Abstract
The present invention relates to the fields of medical image processing and clinical neurovascular disease management, and provides a method for monitoring and evaluating the therapeutic efficacy of pharmacotherapy for intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis based on high-resolution magnetic resonance vessel wall imaging (HR-MR-VWI). The method includes the following steps: firstly, acquiring baseline-phase HR-MR-VWI images of a target region before the initiation of pharmacotherapy; then, acquiring follow-up-phase images of the same region at multiple predetermined follow-up time points after the start of pharmacotherapy; performing three-dimensional reconstruction, anatomical registration and plaque segmentation on the acquired images; calculating two types of quantitative indicators, namely the morphological indicator set and the plaque vulnerability indicator set, based on the processed images; finally, comparing the follow-up indicators with the corresponding baseline indicators, and outputting qualitative and quantitative evaluation conclusions on the therapeutic efficacy in accordance with predetermined evaluation criteria. Through comparative analysis of HR-MR-VWI images at multiple time points and calculation of multi-dimensional quantitative indicators, the present invention achieves accurate, comprehensive and scientific qualitative and quantitative assessment of the therapeutic efficacy of pharmacotherapy on intracranial atherosclerotic plaques, providing a reliable basis for clinical treatment decision-making.
