Abstract

The present invention discloses a method for low-temperature storage of adult seven-spotted ladybugs, falling within the fields of biotechnology and agricultural science. The method comprises the following steps: (1) adult preparation stage; (2) low-temperature induction stage; (3) low-temperature storage stage; (4) recovery stage. The invention offers the following advantages: This improved storage process enables ladybugs to begin egg-laying after one week of rearing at room temperature, ensuring normal population reproduction. It effectively resolves high mortality issues caused by low-temperature storage and significantly enhances propagation capacity. Following the storage process of cold induction-cold storage-brief recovery-cold storage-recovery, the survival rate of seven-spotted ladybugs is significantly improved. Under this process, the survival rate of seven-spotted ladybugs transferred to standard rearing environments can reach 50%.
