Primer-probe composition, kit, and use thereof for detecting plasmodium

Abstract

The present invention relates to the technical field of molecular biology and provides a primer-probe composition, a kit, and use thereof for detecting Plasmodium. The primer-probe composition includes a first primer and a first probe for detecting Plasmodium falciparum; a second primer and a second probe for detecting the pfhrp2 gene of Plasmodium falciparum; a third primer and a third probe for detecting the pfhrp3 gene of Plasmodium falciparum; a fourth primer and a fourth probe for detecting Plasmodium vivax; a fifth primer and a fifth probe for detecting Plasmodium malariae; and a sixth primer and a sixth probe for detecting Plasmodium ovale. Through the designed primer-probe composition, the present invention enables synchronous detection of Plasmodium falciparum, Plasmodium vivax, Plasmodium malariae, Plasmodium ovale as well as the gene deletion status of pfhrp2 and pfhrp3 genes of Plasmodium falciparum. This overcomes the problem that existing detection methods are difficult to take both Plasmodium typing and gene deletion identification into account, and offers the advantages of high detection efficiency, strong specificity, and high sensitivity.
