EZRINE-DERIVED PEPTIDES AND CORRESPONDING PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITIONS

Abstract

The present invention relates to the field of medicine, particularly the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, and concerns peptides derived from ezrin, specifically a peptide comprising an amino acid sequence of the general formula (i) x1 ekkrretvere x2x3, in which each x represents a nonpolar amino acid residue. The invention relates to the use of these peptides as immunostimulating agents and, more specifically, for use in the treatment and prevention of infections (antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal) and the treatment of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, particularly ulcerative disorders of the gastrointestinal tract. The present invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising the peptides.Furthermore, the invention relates to methods for treating an infection and ulcerative diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, consisting of administering peptides to patients who need them.<!--endfragment-->
