Abstract

The invention relates to a signal mast for supporting a tubular display element, illuminated or not, comprising a perforated base with a polygonal cross-section forming a plurality of faces separated by edges, and an upper section extending from the base supporting the display element. The base has a plurality of openings aligned vertically. The cross-section of the base is constant along its entire height; the openings are formed on the faces of the base, and the intervals between the openings on two adjacent faces define angles comprising two flat flanges. Thus, according to this aspect of the invention, the mast is easy to manufacture and bends easily in the event of a collision with a vehicle, so as not to bring it to a sudden stop and to limit injuries to its occupants.
