Microstructured surface coatings and their use in dashboards, switchboards, and control panels

Abstract

The invention relates to coatings incorporating haptic finger-guiding elements that guide finger pressure or brushing movements in a preferred direction when the surface is in contact. The substrates coated according to the invention have an external surface comprising at least two microstructured regions, each with a different coefficient of sliding friction. The invention also relates to the use of coated substrates in dashboards, switch consoles, and control panels to improve manual operability.
