AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing cable assembly arrangements with parallel cable processing devices require operators to cover long distances to manage multiple devices, reducing efficiency and increasing ergonomic strain due to the need for time-consuming bypass routes.

Method used

The arrangement features cable processing devices with central control units and cable transport operating units positioned for mirror symmetry, allowing operators to access and control adjacent devices from a shared area, reducing the need for extensive walking and enhancing ergonomics by enabling operation from a central location.

Benefits of technology

This configuration significantly improves handling efficiency and ergonomics by allowing operators to easily switch between devices without lengthy detours, reducing operational time and space requirements, and enhancing overall productivity.

Abstract

An arrangement for cable assembly with parallel cable processing devices (1) comprises processing stations (2, 3, 4, 5, 6) for processing cable ends of a cable (), a cable conveyor device (8) extending along a machine longitudinal axis (x) for transporting the cable in the direction of the machine longitudinal axis (x) to at least one processing station (2, 3, 4, 5, 6) and a central operating unit (11) for operating the cable processing device (1), which is arranged laterally on the cable processing device (1) with respect to the machine longitudinal axis (x).The parallel cable processing devices (1) comprise at least one group with two adjacent cable processing devices (1, 1'; 1", 1"'), wherein, by means of a mirror-image design, the central operating units (11, 11') and the cable transport operating units (12, 12') of the two adjacent cable processing devices forming a group (1, 1'; 1", 1"') are arranged facing each other and opposite each other to increase efficiency and ergonomics for the operator.
