Abstract

The present invention relates to innovative multi-layer permeable paving stones and slabs designed to improve rainwater management in urban and outdoor environments while meeting durability and performance requirements. These paving stones and slabs feature a two-layer structure combining a robust mass layer composed of concrete enriched with cellular volcanic rock or aggregates from alluvial or massive quarries, in a proportion of between 70% and 80%, and cement, between 20% and 25%, and a permeable top layer consisting of quartz sand, between 70% and 80%, and cement, between 20% and 25%.The mass layer guarantees high mechanical strength, suitable for frequent pedestrian and light vehicle loads, while the top layer optimizes permeability for rapid and uniform water infiltration, while providing a non-slip surface resistant to weathering and abrasion. The invention offers a modular, aesthetic, and high-performance solution for a variety of applications, such as sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and public squares. The invention also relates to a manufacturing process for these paving stones and slabs, including pressing and compacting the layers without chemical fixation, followed by air drying, ensuring exceptional durability.
