Abstract

The invention relates to a method for processing fish scales from fish skins, which are byproducts of the fishing industry. These skins typically come from fish processing plants, where the main products are the meat and other edible parts. Instead of discarding the skins, they are collected to extract the scales and leather, transforming potential waste into a valuable material.In an embodiment of the present invention relating to the manufacture of ornamental products from fish scales, the preparation of the fish scales is carried out by the following method: Filleting and scaling, obtaining scales, cleaning and chlorination, liming of scales, deliming and drying of scales, pinking, pre-tanning of scales, tanning of scales, dyeing of scales, sun exposure, separation of scales by size, storage of scales, cooking of dry and clean scales, pre-crushing of scales, freeze-drying of dried and clean crushed scales frozen at a temperature of minus 18°C.
