Abstract

The invention describes a device and method for removing particles from wastewater, the device referring to a filter element (10) made of stone (11), sand (12), corncob biomass (13), and pieces of cloth (14). In one embodiment of the present invention, a device and method for removing particles from wastewater is described, the device referring to a filter (20) comprising a filter housing (21) and a filter element (22) consisting of a cartridge filled with corncob biomass (26). The housing / container comprises a lid (23), an inlet (24), and an outlet (25) permeable to water. The filter element can move within the housing as a result of the flow, which further cleans the filter.The great advantage of this embodiment of the present invention is that parts of the filter medium referring to the corncob biomass (26) remain freely mobile within the filter cartridge, thus providing a degree of self-cleaning function that extends the useful time of the filter.
