Abstract

The functionalization of tungsten electrodes (and tungsten doped with rare earth oxides) for inert gas welding (TIG) is described, by forming two coatings, one of oxide by exposure to the oxy-acetylene flame in atmospheric air and the second with heat-shrinkable polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) for their use in pH measurement, providing reliable, accessible and economical measuring electrodes.
