Abstract

The present invention describes a method for obtaining a pulmonary surfactant, consisting of internally washing pig lungs with saline solution, obtaining pellets from the washes, and subsequent washes with a methanol-chloroform-water mixture (2:1:0.8); washing the product obtained in the previous step with a mixture of methanol:chloroform, a mixture of methanol-chloroform-water, and a mixture of chloroform-water; evaporating the chloroform until gelatinization; solubilizing NaCl-CaCl2 in acetone, and sterilizing at 120°C for 10 minutes.
