Abstract

This invention presents a novel spring mechanism and sampling platform specifically designed to optimize the performance of paper nebulization ionization (PSI) in mass spectrometry. The innovation of the spring mechanism is its ability to maintain stable contact between the electrode and the paper sample, crucial for efficient ionization. In the PSI process, neutral molecules are deposited onto triangular paper and ionized for analysis. Ionization is achieved by adding solvent to the paper and inducing an electrical potential. The spring mechanism is attached to a sampling platform for PS-MS.
