Abstract

The present invention introduces a novel flow distribution channel configuration that integrates the spiral geometry of fuel cells with the characteristics of a square, implementing inlet and outlet crossovers. This unique approach provides an innovative and novel solution to the various performance and efficiency challenges faced by proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs). By incorporating inlet and outlet crossovers along with state-of-the-art technology, this flow channel system is designed to improve the uniform distribution of reactants and products within the fuel cells. This combination enables a high level of consistency in the distribution and concentration of different species on the active surface. At the same time, its goal is to minimize pressure losses and mitigate voltage drops, thereby significantly improving the overall functionality and efficiency of fuel cell technology.
