Abstract

This invention relates to various synthetic peptides derived from the Hsp70 protein of Trypanosoma cruzi that individually or in combination possess antigenic properties with respect to T. cruzi, providing a tool for the diagnosis of Chagas disease and / or T. cruzi infection in both human and veterinary clinical medicine, blood certification, and epidemiological surveillance in endemic and non-endemic countries with populations at high risk of acquiring T. cruzi infection.
