Abstract

An installation kit for creating a wall niche includes a watertight container with a back wall and a perimeter wall, and an access opening at the front. A frame borders the container's perimeter wall and is a separate component that is pushed into the container from the front. The frame includes a side wall area that borders the outer surface of the container's perimeter wall. A portion of the side wall rests against a portion of the outer surface of the perimeter wall. A front wall area extends outward in a flange-like shape relative to the side wall area. A transition area between the side wall and front wall areas is shaped to allow access to a bonding space at the front and extends at least substantially around to receive a mounting adhesive.
