Abstract

A device and method for removing the shielding foil and untwisting several conductors from an end section of a data cable are disclosed. The device comprises a cable clamp (2) between at least two retaining jaws (12) arranged in an insertion position, through which the end section can be inserted along a longitudinal axis (11). A foil clamp (3) is also provided, having at least two foil blades (13) arranged on opposite sides of the longitudinal axis (11). The end section can be inserted through the foil blades (13) arranged in a pass-through position into the cable clamp (2) along the longitudinal axis (11). The cable clamp (2) and the foil clamp (3) can be rotated about the longitudinal axis (11) by means of a common swivel system (1).
