Abstract

A device includes an alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC) converter configured to convert a single-phase AC electrical power signal into a DC electrical power signal. The device may also include a DC-to-AC converter having an input electrically coupled to the AC-to-DC converter and configured to receive the DC electrical power signal, and having one or more inverters coupled to the input and configured to convert the DC electrical power signal to a multi-phase electrical power source having at least four AC electrical power signals that are out of phase with each other.
