Dishwasher and washing machine grate system with associated dishwasher grate system

Abstract

A utensil rack system for holding lightweight utensils during cleaning in a dishwasher includes a lower utensil rack comprising a bottom wall, vertical side walls, and a plurality of pegs extending upward from the bottom wall, wherein a plurality of the pegs are tall pegs having upper ends that are higher than the upper edges of the vertical side walls. An inverted upper utensil rack can be placed on top of the lower utensil rack to catch lightweight utensils between the upper ends of the tall pegs and the bottom wall of the upper utensil rack. A method for modifying a utensil rack is also provided.
