POSITIVE DISPLACEMENT FLUID MACHINE WITH RESTRICTED GEARS

Abstract

A positive displacement fluid machine with a restrained gear set is provided. The positive displacement fluid machine includes multiple shafts, including a single drive shaft and multiple idler shafts. Multiple lobed rotors are provided, each mounted for rotation on one of the shafts. Each lobed rotor in the multiple of lobed rotors meshes with at least two other lobed rotors in the multiple of lobed rotors. A restrained gear set includes multiple timing gears. Each of the multiple timing gears is mounted for rotation on one of the shafts. Each timing gear in the multiple timing gears meshes with at least two other timing gears in the multiple timing gears.
