Abstract

A system for making sandwiches from two or more flat baked goods, in which a layer of viscous edible material is deposited between said goods. The system comprises: a first conveyor belt supplying several flat baked goods, divided into a first group with the goods oriented with one of their two main surfaces downwards and a second group with the goods oriented upwards; a second conveyor belt supplying the viscous edible material; a temperature control system arranged on the second conveyor belt to achieve a predefined viscosity level of the viscous edible material by controlling its temperature; a first robotic manipulator configured to collect the viscous edible material from the second conveyor belt once its viscosity has been adjusted to the predefined level and deposit it onto the flat baked goods of the first group;and a second robotic manipulator configured to pick up and place the flat baked goods from the second group onto the viscous edible material deposited on the flat baked goods from the first group, thus forming the sandwiches.;
