Abstract

A washable absorbent undergarment comprising woven or spun fabrics has a multi-layered gusset extending at least within a crotch region of the garment. The gusset comprises at least a body-facing top layer, a moisture barrier layer, and a garment layer, with side seams joining the side edges of the layers. The seams are formed in a turned-up state and subsequently inverted so that the side edges terminate on the inside of the gusset. [Figure 3] (See Figure 3).
