SHELL-TYPE GRILL, PRESSURE PLATE SET AND METHODS FOR ITS USE

Abstract

A shell-type grill includes a plate that defines a cooking surface and a pressure plate with a compressible seal that defines the perimeter of an inner cooking cavity; the pressure plate moves between a non-cooking position, in which the sealing edge is separated from the cooking surface, and a cooking position, in which the sealing edge engages with the cooking surface and defines a closed cooking volume; a fluid source may be attached to the plate and includes an outlet that communicates with the closed cooking volume, at least when the plate is in the cooking position; pressure plate assemblies and methods for using and assembling the shell-type grill are also provided.
