SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PERFORATED JELLYROLL BATTERIES

Abstract

Methods and systems for a perforated jellyroll battery are provided. In one example, the perforated jellyroll battery may include a perforated anode comprising a layer of anode active material, an anode current collector, and anode perforations; a perforated cathode comprising a layer of cathode active material, a cathode current collector, and cathode perforations; and a separator located between the perforated anode and the perforated cathode. The anode perforations are aligned axially and radially with the cathode perforations, with respect to the jellyroll battery.
